“ Ash…come on, we should stop here for a while
“ Ash…come on, we should stop here for a while. It’s getting dark, and there’s a forest coming up. I’m not spending the whole night searching helplessly around trees…again.” The older Pokemon trainer said, looking at his friend with a small smirk on his lips.
Ash yawned slightly, not sure if he should agree or not. He wasn’t really in the mood for arguing but he did really want to get to the next town quickly, so he could win his next badge as quickly as possible. However, Brock had a point. They had been lost in the forest at night countless times, each time with him being the one who had gotten them lost. So to avoid further arguments, he ended up nodding his head.
Brock gently dropped his bag to the floor, Pikachu jumped of Ash’s head happily, running to him in hope of food. Brock smiled, and dug his hands into his bag, finding a box of Poke-chow that he handed to Pikachu.
Ash watched his best friend munch on the poke-chow, smiling slightly. He then looked to Brock, who was busy leaning over a fire that he had created, cooking what looked like one of Brock’s famous home made soups. And as he hadn’t ate all day- he was famished.
“ Rex?”
“Hm…”
“Rex.” The female voice repeated, poking at the 9 year old boy hopelessly. The boy muttered something, and fell back into his deep sleep.
“REX! WAKE UP!”
Said boy shot up into a sitting position from his sleep, with wide eyes. He stared at the red head with confusion.
“What is it Misty!?” He cried, a pout on his face from being woken so rudely and so quickly.
Misty frowned, she pointed to the two sleeping bags that were now empty and then looked to him.
“Where are they?” She demanded, standing up and walking over to where the two boys had been. Rex sleepily looked over and raised his eyebrow.
“I don’t know…They were here when I fell asleep.” He muttered. Misty sighed.
“Maybe they’re bathing… Ah. I’ll go look for them, Rex. Sorry for waking you, I was just worried.” She smiled warmly, and Rex smiled back- for the smile that was on Misty’s lips always made him smile back, it was just the way she looked so warm that made him feel the need to grin back at her.
“Right… those two are stupid for leaving you here alone, but I want to check that nothing has happened to them, ok? If anything happens, you know what to do… I’ll leave Azurill with you just in case..” Misty muttered, looking to her Pokemon who nodded happily from her sleeping bag. Rex looked at her with slightly wide eyes.
“But…what about you? You need a Pokemon with you…” the blue haired boy stated, Misty smiled sweetly at him.
“I will be fine, Rex, besides, I’ll take Politoed with me!”
The boy frowned, but nodded.
“Come back soon then..” He said, not too sure if he wanted to be left alone.
“Right…You’ll be fine.” She said with a kind confidence, not really sure if she was convincing him or herself. “ And if your brothers come back… tell them I’m taking a walk, okay? If I don’t find them I will be back in around 40 minutes!”
Rex nodded again, feeling slightly down about the fact he was going to be left alone, but then again…it meant she trusted him. And that meant a lot to the young boy.
The red head grinned and waved at him slightly, grabbed her poke-ball and walked away. Rex watched her go, and looked to Azurill who was now smiling at him cutely.
Misty had been wandering around the forest for nearly 30 minutes, when she saw a opening up ahead. She wandered where she had gotten to, and how exactly she was going to get back, but didn’t seem to mind- as things usually came together ok… in the end. She walked onwards, trying to push the fact that Rex could be in trouble with out her to the back of her mind. Something about the direction she was going in made her think that’s where the boys were. Her eyes shot to the left as she saw a faint light glowing, her heart jumped when she thought that maybe she had found either of her other friends. Turning to the left, she started to walk onwards, the light becoming brighter and brighter, flooding through the branches of the trees that shaded the forest floor. She mentally hit herself. She had found the entrance to the forest she had that very same day entered. The entrance that she had HATED to enter, because she HATED bug Pokemon. And what was the forest full of? Bug Pokemon. Now she had found the entrance, and when the thought of the hundreds of bug Pokemon crawling around, she ran out as quickly as her feet could carry her.
She looked around, her eyes adjusting to the new light that now surrounded her. It looked so much brighter from under the trees shade, and now she was out there, it didn’t seem bright…atall. It was actually pretty dull, the rain was starting to fall,. She sighed, and put the hood on her jacket up. She decided that it was no good being out here to look for her friends, so she breathed in bravely and turned around.
She then let out a ear-piercing scream at the tiny Wurmple in front of her.
Pikachus ears shot up, his head spun to the direction of Ash and Brock, who had both jumped up from their meal with wide eyes.
“What was that!?” Brock asked, still in shock
“ A scream…come one Brock, some one could be in trouble!” Ash exclaimed, and began to run towards Pikachu.
“Pikapi!” Pikachu shouted to Brock, who was in a state of dreamy-ness.
“Brock!” Ash shouted
“ Ah…Maybe it’s a damsel in distress! Maybe I could be her SAVIOUR! She would for ever love me! And I would be her Knight in shining armour!” He cried happily. Ash looked at him for a few seconds.
“eh..”
“DON’T WORRY MY LOVE! I SHALL SAVE YOU FROM THIS TERRIBLE NIGHTMARE YOU HAVE ENCOUNTED!” Brock screamed, running in the direction of the scream. Ash sighed, before running after him with Pikachu on his shoulder.
Misty’s hand shakily moved to her belt where her poke-ball with Politoed was in, she lifted it up infront of her slowly, not taking her eyes off the little bug Pokemon that was looking at her with its head tilted to one side and its eyes showing confusion as to why the girl was so frightened. Misty was about to free the Pokemon to begin a battle when she saw a yellow object zip infront of her, letting out a shock of thunder to the poor Wurmple that had now fainted due to the extreme power of the….Misty’s eyes focused on the yellow object…It was a Pikachu. An…all to familiar Pikachu. Followed by a all too familiar voice.
“Poke-ball! GO!”
A poke ball flew past her, to the beaten Pokemon, capturing it with out a problem.
Ash couldn’t believe that he and Brock had run so fast just to do that. He had just captured a Wurmple that he didn’t even need! He looked to the person who was standing, staring at Pikachu, her body was facing the other way, so he couldn’t see her face- he just noticed she had a hood up, and short blue shorts on that clinged to her curves from the rain, with red and white trainers. Ash glanced at Brock, only to see him infront of the girl, and grabbing her hand. He expected for Brock to be asking her out on a date, or for him to be confessing his ‘love’ for her. But no. Brock was staring at the girl, and dropped her hand. Now Ash was confused. This girl was getting stared at by his Pokemon and by Brock.
“Hey! You! You can’t go screaming about nothing like that again!” Ash shouted, remembering the reason why they had abandoned their camp in the first place.
“Misty…” Ash looked up to hear Brock mutter, and Pikachu was smiling happily at the girl. Ash’s eyes widened.
There was no way, no way it was her- not here, of all places, it couldn’t be her, its just couldn-
The girls turned around, a smile on her lips, as she faced Ash.
“Hey there, stranger.”
