I know a tale that shall
break your heart and chill your bones
Tis the legend of Davey Jones
He was a strong sea captain with an iron fist
You can see the outline of his ghost ship in the mist
Nothing could vex him, this man of no fear
Until he met a woman he loved so dear
Calypso, goddess of the sea, fierce and harsh her soul be
She broke his heart and caused him great pain
He tried again to win her in vain
His heart was in tatters and he did what was best
He took his heart and put it in a chest
He took it far and buried it in the sand
She made her final stand in a fierce storm,
to punish her insolence, bound her in human form.
Now an immortal, he captains the damned
In his chest the void grows cold
He searches the sea for desperate souls
The kraken is his leviathan beast
On the flesh of his betrayers the kraken doth feast
A young man who’s death nears
Agrees to serve on his crew one hundred years
When the trade winds blowthou can hear the moans
From the the tortured soul of Davey Jones.
