Thousand Snow

Once upon a time, A Hime was born into a kingdom filled with peace and prosperity. The Kingdom and its people celebrated at her birth and all thought nothing could never go wrong, but how that was about to change. Kasunari-Ousama and Nadeshiko-Joou was shocked to be told by Kaede-Shintaku that their musume who they have named Chiyuki would not live past the age of 16. Both the king and queen could not stand the thought of losing their precious musume, send out words that spread over the land to all who know a way that can help prevent Chiyuki-hime’s mirai from happening. Many people came from all over the land to try and save her but none had succeeded, it was soon forgotten.

As years soon past, Chiyuki had grew up to be beautiful yet a kind and gentle hime, she was loved by all her people, but as her sixteenth birthday approaches Chiyuki-hime soon fell ill, there was no sign or reason as to why this happened, until Nadeshiko-Joou remembered the Shintaku’s words “Chiyuki-hime will not live past the age of 16”Kazunari-ou and Nadeshiko-Joou both grief over the fact that they could not change their musume’s fate. Day by day Chiyuki-hime grew weaker and no longer had the strength to get up from her bed; the kingdom fell into grief from their beloved hime.

Chiyuki-hime had woken up after she felt being watched, but was surprised to wake up only to see a stranger by her bed leaning over her, just as she was to let out a cry of surprise when the stranger hand come to cover her mouth and whispered in her ear “Don’t… I will not harm you” The voice was deep yet soothing to her ears. Chiyuki took a moment to identify the stranger as a male. “W-Who are you? What are you doing here?” she asked softly and coughs lightly. The stranger merely leaned back from her bed making her the moonlight shine on him. “I am Fukyuushi and other than that nothing” he replied. Chiyuki now stared at the male who named himself “Fukyuushi” taking in what he looked like, black hair that came to his shoulder hold together by a piece of black string tied together, with light grey eyes while wearing a dark blue shirt without sleeves and black coat that was left in an open style and black shoes that looks similar to a boot.

“Then why are you here Fukyuushi?” asked Chiyuki deciding to trust the male in the bedchambers for the moment, “…Come with me, I can save you” he replied “Why?” she whispered “I have seen watched and seen you grew up, I can save you but you can never return here to your kingdom” he said making sure she heard. “Then I don’t want to be save, I rather die if I have to leave my people.” Chiyuki said without hesitation but only to start coughing “I won’t” she said while coughing and breathing heavily. No longer did Chiyuki had the strength to say anything as she felt herself drifting in to the darkness as her breathing slowed, her eyes closed signalling that her heart had stopped, but all Fukyuushi could do was watched as her breathing stopped. Only a moment before he rushed to bedside and lifting her up into his arms, "I will not lose you Chiyuki even if I have to make you live longer and could not return to this kingdom anymore" he whispered into her ears as he use one hand to balance Chiyuki in his arms while moving his free hand up to his mouth and bit into his wrist while drawing blood with his lengthened fangs, he moved his wrist to his mouth and drawing on the blood. He use his bleeding hand to raised Chiyuki's head and leaning in so that his mouth aligned with hers, as he opened Chiyuki's mouth enough so that he could pour his blood down her throat, after doing so he covered Chiyuki with her silk cover to keep her warm as he moved to stand while carrying the now sleeping Chiyuki and started walking towards her balcony, “Chiyuki… I will never let you go no matter what. I’ll be the one who will stand by your side until the end of time” he whispered before jumping off the balcony and disappearing into the night.

Morning came as Chiyuki-hime’s maid came to wake up her up; she stood still shocked at the sight of the empty room, before crying out to let the guards know that something was amiss in their hime's chambers. When the guards came all the maid could say was “C-Chiyuki-hime disappeared” as she continued to cry. Kazunari-Ousama and Nasdeshiko-Joou was alerted but it was too late, their musume Chiyuki-hime was gone.

Where she went and who took her nobody knew, but that was the story that was told by her people was passed down to the younger generations to come.

But to us where Fukyuushi took Chiyuki-hime is a story for another time.
