Hope We Get Stuck

“Hold it open!” The tall brunette waves her hands frankly at Sam as she bounds towards the metal doors her heels clicking off the cool tiled floor as she does so. Sam pushes in the hold button; it’s only a matter of mere seconds before the brunette rushes in to the confined space of the elevator.

“Thanks.” She flashes a quick smile at Sam, who smiles politely back.

“No problem.” Only the humming of the elevator fills the awkward silence between them both. Sam sneaks a glance at the woman beside him; tall, slender with striking dark brown eyes.

The metal box shakes violently a few times causing Sam to grab the woman’s arm before she crashes into the wall beside him. It soon comes to a complete halt. “Are you okay?” Sam’s gentle eyes search the other woman’s who simply nods her head in reply.

He removes his cell phone from his back pocket. No signal. He lets out a sigh of frustration, the woman flips open her cell phone and begins to engage in conversation. “Hi…no I’m fine…stuck in an elevator…with a guy…I don’t know, it’s not a question I’ve asked…I’ll be fine…see you later, bye.” Sam tries not to stare at her so he focuses his attention on the dark grey metal doors.

“I’m Kira by the way; do you want to use my cell to call someone?” She holds the cell out to Sam who takes her up on the offer.

“I’m Sam, can I call my brother?” Kira gives a friendly smile.

“Sure.” Sam takes the cell from her hands and dials Dean’s number; he doesn’t have to think about it, it’s imprinted into his brain.

“Hey, Dean…I’m stuck in an elevator…with a girl…hilarious…bye.” Sam hands the cell phone back.

“Thanks.” Kira just gives another smile.

“Oh my room mate wants to know if you’re a psycho murderer.” A small laugh escapes Sam’s lips.

“I can safely say I’m not.”

“Well that’s a relief, looks like we could be here a while half the city’s got a power cut.” Kira slides down the metallic surface; Sam feels even more awkward standing up so he decides to join her on the floor. Kira studies Sam who looks uneasily around him.

“You don’t work here.” An inquisitive expression sets itself upon her soft features.

“No, I’m just here to check some things out.” Sam loosens his black tie.

“Oh, you’re not from round here are you?” Sam can’t help but smile at Kira.

“No, how do you know that?” It’s Sam’s turn to ask a question.

“I think I would have remembered you.” Sam gives a small laugh. They sit in comfortable silence now at ease with each other’s presence. Sam stretches his arms above his head before going to stand up not realising that Kira was doing the exact same thing. When they’re both standing upright their bodies are centimetres apart. Kira stares into Sam’s gentle eyes.

“You have pretty eyes.” “You have pretty eyes!” who says that!? Kira’s train of thought is interrupted by Sam’s soft lips crashing onto hers. Maybe I should say it more often. Again her line of thought is abruptly stopped by Sam pushing her backwards until she crashes into the wall. He plants silk soft kisses on her neck; she wraps her legs around his waist and shrugs off his black suit jacket which falls silently to the floor. His tanned muscular arms support her back. Kira wouldn’t normally do this but she surrenders herself to Sam’s irresistible kisses.

Sam picks his suit jacket up from the floor and slips it back on, it was totally out of character for him to do something like that, but for once he’d stopped thinking and allowed himself to do something he wanted for a change.

The elevator shudders a few times, then the familiar humming starts up again and they start to descend. It’s less than a minute before they’re at the ground floor. Kira’s the first to step out into the quiet lobby. “Bye Sam.” She gives once last glittering smile before turning round and briskly making her way out.

“Bye Kira.”
