Chapter 1: Yuuki Toukon

Kakashi Hatake, 14 year old chunien, on his way to jonien. Also a genius. It was bright outside around 3 pm, while he was "training"

With his team.

"Kakashi!" Kakashi's partner Rin said. "Come on Kakashi lets train together! Obito is getting so annoying...”

"Hey, Obito whined, I’m not that bad...”

"Well Kakashi, you do have to do more than just sit there," Kakashi's sensei Yamato said lazily

"Well, I’m gonna go train in the forest for a while."

"Alright come back by 5 so we can discuss something."

"Hai, Hai." Kakashi said lazily as he walked off."

"Aww, why does Kakashi-kun never wanna train with me?" Rin whined

--In The forest--

Kakashi made has way over to the side of the river where he began to train again. He liked the silence, and training alone, His

Team mates could never keep up with him. And they were also on his last nerves. A/n: not very social are you kakashi? He continued

Slashing a tree until he saw something floating down the river.

"A girl? No it can’t be."

His curiosity got the best of him and he jumped in the water to see for himself.

'It is a girl', kakashi thought. 'Is she dead? No there's still a pulse.'

He dragged the body out of the water and started contemplating what to do. He knew what but he really didn't want to.

He brushed her white silky hair from her face, admiring her soft beautiful features. 'This isn't the time!' He thought.

Suddenly he pulled down his mask and placed his lips on hers.

'I’m only helping her. Why is my face so warm?'

After a few more seconds she started coughing up water, as Kakashi pulled up his mask. She slowly opened her bright

Emerald eyes and sat up, noticing the abandoned warmth on her lips.

'Did he...’

She looked up to see a boy, about her age with silver hair and a mask.

"Did you help me?" She asked, he noticed the sorrow in her eyes.

"Um, yeah are you ok? What happened?"

"I was trying to kill myself, though it didn't work out the way I wanted it to." She said softly

"Suicide? Nothing could have been that bad."

"It was bad, so bad... I couldn't live on this earth anymore, I still can't." She said quietly as she got up.

Suddenly she felt something grab her wrist, and she turned around to see the boy again. This time with a serious look on his

face, starring her strait in the eye.

"I’m not letting you kill yourself." He said sternly.

"Why?! It's my life right?! You have not part of it!" She said realizing she was yelling.

"Why don’t you just calm down, your obviously upset. Why don’t you just vent toward me?" He said softly

"I shouldn't even bother, you problebly have everything don’t you? I can tell you have enormous chakra, so you’re obviously strong

But you problebly have parents to support you to. She said a little softer.

"I don’t. He said

She just stared at him.

"I have experience with suicide, because of someone close to me."

"I’m sorry for your loss, she said blankly. But you don’t know me. And quite frankly I’m not comfortable sharing a big part of my

Life with you when you hide yours." She said referring to the mask.

"Don’t take it personally, I've never showed anyone." He said scratching his head.

"Well than were even. You hide your life, I hide mine.

"But I’m not planning on killing my self, he said being serious again. I'll let go, if you just think first."

She suddenly sat down and looked at the ground. "So who are you anyway?" She said very quietly.

"Kakashi Hatake." He said very plainly. And you?"

"Yuuki Toukon." She said quietly.

"Of the Toukon clan?" He said almost surprised,

"Yeah that's right," she said as a tear ran down her face.

Kakashi didn't seem to notice as he continued talking.

"I thought they didn't let anyone away from the compound?

"Yeah that's right." She said plainly

"Then why-

"There dead." Yuuki said cutting him off.

"Oh he said quietly, as he continued to stare at her.

"It wasn't a normal death either; they were assassinated by someone close to me."

Kakashi really didn't know what to say at this point. So he just stayed quiet, searching his mind for something to make her feel better.

"That's the kind of response I expect from people, she said plainly. Now that you know, I’m leaving."

He grabbed her wrist again.

"Why are you so persistent?" She said now annoyed.

"Lives aren't that simple. He said. You shouldn't take your life so easily."

"Why? I don’t have anyone left. I never even had friends, due to the rules in my clan."

"I’m your friend."

She just looked with wide eyes.

"Why do you think I’m trying so hard? Only friends would do that." He said.

"Why bother with me? I’m a lost cause," She said looking away

"Because I kind of understand where you’re coming from. I don’t have parents and not many friends either."

"So what do you expect me to do?" Yuuki said, I don’t have anywhere to go."

"What about here?"

"I don’t think I’m interested in living in a forest thank you. She said sarcastically.

"No, I mean in the hidden leaf, there sure to let you stay."

"I don't know-

"Come on," he said grabbing her hand and started walking out of the forest.

“W-where are we going??”

“I’m taking you to the hokage’s office.” He said grinning.

“What’s a hokage?” Yuuki said with a dumb look on her face.

“Well, it’s kind of like our leader.” Kakashi said while scratching the back of his head.

“Oh, um… suddenly she stopped and looked at the ground. N-no thanks.”

“Why not?” He said blankly.

“They won’t accept me.”

“Why do you say that?”

“J-just feeling I have, who would accept me?” Yuuki said staring at the ground. Now almost on the verge of tears.

“Well we’ll never know till we try right?” Kakashi said grinning under his mask.

Yuuki just stared at him in surprise. No one has ever been this nice to her.

Kakashi took her hand again and started walking down the street. Suddenly she felt a blush creep across her face. She noticed and looked away, walking in silence to the hokage’s office.

--Hokage’s office--

Sarutobi was sitting in his office, pretty much at his limit. Who ever said paperwork was fun? The room was silent until he heard a loud annoying knock on his door.

“What is it now?!” He said loudly.

Yuuki flinched when she heard his angry voice and had second thoughts. Too late. Kakashi opened the door and pulled her in. Yuuki looked and saw and old man look over his papers.

“Ah, it’s you Kakashi. What do you need?”

“A favor. He said plainly. This is Yuuki Toukon, she needs somewhere to stay.”

“Toukon? Interesting, Kakashi do you mind leaving for a while?”

Kakashi just looked at the 3rd, and then at Yuuki. She gave him a look like she was saying ‘please don’t leave.’ He gave the hokage one more look, and walked out.

Yuuki just looked away, she really wish Kakashi didn’t jus leave.

“So you’re from the Toukon clan?” He asked.

“Yes I am sir.” She said almost inaudible.

“Please call me Sarutobi, he said smiling. So tell me, why are you here? It’s not like the Toukon to let one of there own leave.”

“They will killed.” She said blankly.

“Oh. That’s news to me. Are you the only survivor?”

“I think so, though I’m not sure.

“Fair enough. I will send anbu, to check out the area and search for survivors.”

“Thank you.” Yuuki said bowing.

“So, Kakashi tells me you need a place to stay? I can help.

“Thank you Sir.” She said.

“I told you it’s Sarutobi,” he said grinning.

“Yes Sarutobi.” She said plainly.

“So Yuuki, have you been trained in the ninja ways?”

“Yes I have Sarutobi.” She said straightly.

“Well than, I will assign you to a team, and if they feel you’re not ready yet I will send you back to the academy. Is that fair?”

“Yes Sarutobi.” She said again.

“Very good, the 3rd said. I suggest you stay with Kakashi tonight so we can get things sorted out.”

“Alright, good day Sarutobi.” She said bowing and then walked out.

--With Kakashi--

Kakashi shut the door to the hokage’s office and leaned against the wall. It’s times like this he wished he had a book to pass the time.

“Well look who’s late again. Kakashi looked up to see his sensei standing over him. I expected so, but of all places I didn’t expect you to come HERE.” He said now laughing.

“Well I was busy with something.” He said turning away.

“Oh, a girlfriend maybe?”

A slow blush crept across kakashi’s face as he continued to look to the side.

“Oh looks like I was right! Kakashi has finally gotten a little more social.” His sensei said while poking him in the ribs.

“Please, I don’t have time with stupid things like that. I’m a ninja.” Kakashi stated.

“Oh? Aw, too bad. Anyway, Sarutobi and I have decided it’s almost time to promote you to jonien. But all in good time.

“Right I understand.” He said straightly.

And with that Yondaime walked out of the building with just a wave. Kakashi watched him leave when a ninja summoned him to the hokage’s office. Kakashi entered lazily.

“There you are Kakashi. The Hokage said. I did you a favor, now you owe me.”

“Huh?” Kakashi said.

“Let Yuuki stay with you for tonight, while we get her situated.” The hokage said.

“Naturally.” He said lazily.

“And you will be summoned in a couple days to discuss your promotion to jonien. He said grinning. Good day Kakashi.”

“Good day.” He said as he walked out.
