Kat: Warning, there are some spoilers here for some NG stories. There will be no spoilers, however, for yet-to-be-posted stories. Once they're posted, however, watch out.

Prologue

After years of adventures in world-saving and combat racing, the gang had settled down. Gotten married, had a few kids, y’know; the works.

Of course, Jak continued his hero work, albeit on a smaller scale: he was a Captain in the Freedom League. Keira’s small garage had become a full-fledged business, and she spent more time working on paperwork than working on vehicles. Ashelin continued work as the Governor and Torn balanced helping her out as an advisor and running the FL.

Daxter continued running his bar, which had a lot of construction done on it. It now had a second floor, which doubled as the home he and his family occupied. Tess had retired from the gun-designing business and stayed home to keep an eye on things. One small, furry, adorable thing in particular. Both were still full-time Precursor soldiers, though they were rarely called upon.

Sig continued running Spargus City, though his ex-wife seemed to be better suited for it. She was, definitely, an infinitely better diplomat and tactician. Upon their divorce, he relinquished his position of power to her. Veger had escaped from Kleiver’s clutches and seemed to have all but disappeared. No one seemed to know where he lived, and no one saw him when he wasn’t fulfilling his Precursor duties.

Even Pecker had married and started a family. After years and years, he returned to his native home and hooked up with his old flame. He rescued her from his diabolical elder brother (with Daxter’s help) and the two eloped and settled in Haven. Because he could no longer serve at Onin’s interpreter, he taught the rest of the gang to understand her signs.

Now, the gang’s kids were teenagers, and they seemed to be following closely in their parents’ footsteps.

Jak and Keira’s twins, Damas and Wes, were a jock and a scholar, respectively. Damas loved adventure and Wes loved machines. Sound familiar? They had also each inherited one of Jak’s alter-egos: Damas was light and Wes was dark (if you knew them, you’d know that was a surprise).

Torn and Ashelin’s daughter Ava was taking on her mother’s “Action Girl” role in the group. She was a gymnast and a martial artist, and recently she’d started visiting the shooting range after schools. She was a real take-charge kind of girl.

Daxter and Tess’ son, named after Jak (mostly out of a complete lack of creativity on the part of both parents), was an almost carbon-copy of his father, with the exception of his blond hair. The same deal with Cayo, Pecker’s son. The two teenagers often quarreled, but retained a steadfast friendship, just like their fathers.

Sig’s daughter Scout did not let being a paraplegic stop her from kicking ass and taking names, which is impressive considering it’s physically impossible for her to kick. She worked her upper body regularly to keep strong. She can literally pick up and throw a fully-grown man twice her size.

It was a clear, beautiful night in Haven City. The gang had gotten together at the Naughty Ottsel for old times’ sake. While they crowded around the bar, laughing at Daxter’s tales, Veger sat quietly in the corner, his communicator in his hand and a scowl on his face. When Daxter called him with “urgent news”, he’d assumed there was trouble. Nope. Daxter just wanted to drag him away from his work for a party. Figures.

“… and then it went flying a hundred feet in the air!” Daxter exclaimed. “I swear, it was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. Well, next to Happy Hour here at the Ottsel. Jeez, you’d think this was the only bar in town the way people practically riot to get their drinks.”

“I can’t imagine why, considering the swill you serve here tastes like used dishwater…” Veger grumbled.

“Lighten up, dude,” Daxter said, gulping down his drink. “Beer wasn’t invented to taste good, it was invented to get us drunk off our asses!”

“I’ll drink to that!” Pecker declared.

Veger rolled his eyes and continued scowling as the group laughed and clinked their mugs together. He took a sip of beer from his mug.

“You know, the kids have been asking us about our adventures,” Keira said. “Think we should tell them?”

“Why not? They deserve to know,” Ashelin said.

“I’ll personally tell them!” Daxter offered.

“No you won’t; the last thing we need is you trying to get hero worship from our kids,” Torn said.

“Shit,” Daxter sulked.

“We can tell our own kids our own stories,” Jak said. “That seems reasonable.”

“Agreed.” The group sealed the pact by taking huge gulps of beer.

Kat: This will be set up just like NG. I don’t plan on actually showing the parents telling stories to the kids, instead opting to just write the stories in the same fashion as NG. In fact, if I could, I’d put a prologue chapter in NG. Didn’t think to do it until it was way too late (facepalm). I won't be updating this for awhile, so I suggest putting it in your alerts, or checking back in every few days.
