She watched her struggle and thrash about, pulling at the chains with which she'd been restrained, until her strength gave out and she broke down crying.

She was crying...a wretched soul that gave pitiful whails which rent the air and tore at her heart. A monster bound, weeping for something greater lost than pride. An animal trapped, straining for freedom, but a freedom not from prison but from the mind.

It shouldn't have hurt like it did, a pain so acutely felt she couldn't understand why it affected her so much. Words like 'evil' and 'vile' flit through her mind only to be drowned out by the shrieks that seemed to pierce her very soul.

As she gazed upon the miserable form, she felt a tug of ruth. Logic told her that she should feel vindicated, happy, even; yet the opposite was true. Perhaps, at that moment, she felt the differences between them more than ever before. Royalty, peasantry, it didn't matter how strong she was, the fact it had not been her place to interfere in a matter so private and intricate that was between the two siblings.

So she turned away out of deference. She closed her eyes in devoir. In her heart, she felt the pain of a spirit broken.
