Prologue
“Can this get anymore boring?” asked Alexis lounging on the roof of a building.
“Probably,” answered Kris crouching on the edge of same building, “but it’s our job to protect the city from those that came from Hell.”
“Yeah, yeah I know,” said Alexis waving her off.
“Then don’t complain,” she snapped shushing her. She heard something.
Alexis shut her mouth and pulled out a hand-gun, which was pure black with a white rose engraved on the handle, with silver bullets. Kris also pulled out her gun, which as also pure black with a navy blue wolf engraved on the handle, and turned the corner. She turned fast and pointed the gun.
“Hey, hey! Don’t shoot!!” shouted Jaden putting his hands into the air.
“Jaden,” sighed Kris and put her gun away. “What are you doing here?”
“You’re Were-friends called,” he said breathing normally again.
“They aren’t our friends,” groaned Alexis. “We worked with them when that rogue Were was on the loose.”
“And you needed a vampire’s help,” came a voice from behind them.
“Ack!” exclaimed Kris and shot around pointing the gun. “Princeton!”
“That’s one way to get killed Chazz,” stated Atticus coming on scene.
“She tried to kill me before remember?”
“I remember looking for a rogue Were by myself when I ran into you,” said Kris thinking about what happened. “It was just like any other normal day …”
Start Really Long Flashback (like the whole story)
“Bored, bored, bored,” chanted Alexis flipping through a magazine. “We haven’t had a case in weeks!”
“There are other hunters besides us in the city,” said Kris punching and kicking the air. She was training. “We can get a break well they go out hunting … even if we are the best they have.”
“Well I’m bored Kris!”
“And you think I’m not!” she snapped back rounding on her best friend. “I would rather be surveying the city then training right here!”
Alexis sighed but nodded in agreement. Hunters are normal humans but they aren’t “normal” humans. They need to be occupied; always … It’s the way their personality is. Just then Kris’ buzzer went off.
“Gah!” she shouted jumping two feet in the air. She whipped out her pager and saw who the number was from.
“Who’s it from?”
“It’s from the police station,” answered Kris looking at it curiously.
“Then let’s go!” shouted Alexis grabbing her jacket and ran out the door.
“She’s gonna realize sooner or later that I have the car keys,” thought Kris sweatdropping.
“Gah! Kris come on! You have the car keys!” she shouted.
“Coming,” laughed Kris and walked out of the training room.
At the Police Station
“What’s going on?” asked Kris walking into the police station. “Why were Alexis and I called?”
“Oh good, you’re here,” said a lady that was about 33 years old. She was wearing a police uniform but was obviously higher in rank.
“What’s going on?” asked Alexis a second time.
“I think you better see this,” she said and made a movement for them to follow her.
Alexis and Kris looked at her and followed through to a built in morgue at the police station. What they saw made them almost gag. On five body tables, was the remains of five mutilated bodies, which were once police officers.
“What the in hell happened?” asked Kris staring at them in shock.
“We thought you’d tell us?”
“We don’t know what happened,” answered Alexis. “But if I have to guess, I’d say it was a Were that did this.”
“A Rogue Were,” continued Kris. “A tame Were won’t attack like this. I’d say it was somebody that turned into a Were. They’re following their instinct … which means it will be hard to catch.”
Everybody looked at Kris.
“What?” she asked. “I was just telling the truth.”
“Some way to get somebody’s spirits up Kris,” said Alexis sighing shaking her head.
“Well, let’s get to work,” said Kris unzipping the first bag.
“Oh lord …”
Grey: Mwhahahahahahahahahahaha!! I’m so evil! It’s a cliffhanger! It’s not very long but the prologue usually isn’t very long. Hope you enjoyed the prologue! R & R!
