So, my first fanfic on fanfiction. It's BloodRayne, Eragon, and my own stuff. BloodRayne has a sister, and they find what they think is just a giant diamond on the ground. Oh, but little did they know...it's much more than that.

I hope you all like it.

The Stone:

We were on a mission, my sister and me. It was snowing lightly, but there was already a blanket of snow on the ground. Our footsteps made no noise as we walked through the snow. The mission was actually over, and we were walking to the place where the helicopter was scheduled to pick us up. My sister, a.k.a. BloodRayne, stopped suddenly. I bumped into her.

"Watch it!" she commanded. Fun little fact, both our names are Rayne.

"You watch it!" I retorted. "You're the one who stopped so abruptly-"

"Shut up and look over there!" BloodRayne said, and pointed.

"It's probably just a rock covered with snow," I said, and shook my head.

"Rocks don't glitter like that, not even with snow on them," she said. She walked towards it, and I followed, muttering small oaths under my breath. Rayne wouldn't hear. She got down on both knees and reached out to touch it.

I swatted her hand away. "You don't know what that is! It could kill us!" I warned her. She glared at me.

"Do you even know how few things can kill us, sister?" She told me.

"Yes, yes I do," I replied. "But this is an unknown object!"

"I highly doubt it'll do anything," my sister said matter-of-factly. She scooped it out of the ground.

"What is it?" I asked, and craned my neck to get a better view.

"Oh my god," she muttered.

"Just let me see it!" I yelled, and tried to grab it, but she kept it away from me. Rayne held it up.

"What the hell…" I said as I stared. It was a rock, but a different kind of rock. It looked like a gigantic gemstone, a diamond. It was like nothing I'd ever seen before.

"It's a giant diamond. Yes, that's what it is, just an extremely huge diamond," my sister concluded.

"Bigger than any other diamond I've ever seen," I said.

"That's because you picked such a poor family the only diamonds you've ever seen were grains of dust!" Rayne snapped.

"Oh yeah, like you've ever seen any gemstone this big before," I said.

"Well, no…" she said. She bit her bottom lip, then let go. "What should we do with it?"

"I think we should leave it here," I said.

"To hell with that, finders keepers losers weepers!" BloodRayne shouted, and clutched it to her chest.

"Rayne, Rayne, Rayne," I said while shaking my head. Then I quickly snatched it away from her.

"Hey!" she said, and grabbed it. She pulled, but I held onto it fast. "I saw it first!"

"Well…" I couldn't think of an argument. "So?! I want it more!" We tug-o-warred for a few seconds, and then Rayne let go of it. I stumbled and fell on my back, but immediately sprang back up again. I looked at her quizzically.

"You know what, you need it more than I do," she said. "Go sell it on EBay for a million gazillion dollars and buy yourself a better battle outfit." She walked off. Though it was true--my battle outfit was a black tank top and black boot-cut jeans. I seriously did need a better one. But I wouldn't sell the stone. It would be my personal little trophy.

I looked over to my older sister. She was standing a few feet away, and looking up at the sky, searching for something. I focused and heard the sound of a helicopter coming our way. I walked up next to her. Rayne looked down at me. I looked at her with puppy dog eyes.

"You know that doesn't work on me," Rayne said. "I'm not too fond of dogs." I smiled. I could hear the helicopter getting very near. As I looked up at the sky, I saw a black shape getting larger by the second. Finally, the helicopter landed in front of us.

"See ya, sis," BloodRayne said, and leaped like a cat into the copter.

"Hey!" I objected, and leaped inside myself. Rayne laughed. "It's not funny."

"Maybe not for you," she replied, and grabbed a handle bar. I rolled my eyes and grabbed my own handle bar as the helicopter took off from the ground.

"You girls alright?" the pilot asked.

"We're fine," Rayne answered.

"Hardly," I said under my breath. I held my stone tight to my side.

The pilot landed in a grassy field surrounded by tall trees. He gave me a bag for my sister and mine's findings. I said thank-you and jumped out of the helicopter, Rayne right behind me. We stood there in the field in silence as the copter took off.

"Where to now?" I asked.

"Let's see if you're Street Racer friend will take us in for the night," Rayne suggested.

"It’s the only thing we can do," I said, and we took off running. We reached my friend Marcus's house in a few minutes, going so fast we were invisible. We stopped in a back alley close to his house. He actually had his own apartment, at 15!

"You might want to take your blades off," I told Rayne. "He's never met you before, and you wouldn't want to make a bad impression, would you?"

"What if I do?" Rayne said. I gave her my dark, "oh really bitch?" look and she rolled her eyes at me, but started to take her blades off, anyway. I started walking out of the alley and my sister followed, carrying her blades in her hand. I hopped up to the front porch and rang the doorbell. Rayne stepped up next to me with her blades held behind her back. I heard shuffling behind the door. Marc opened the door.

"Oh, Rayne," he said, "it's just you."

"Yeah, and my sister," I said. "Her name's Rayne, too. Listen, can we stay here for the night?"

"Sure," Marc answered. "I'll just move my stuff to the couch and you can sleep in my bed."

"Oh, thank you!" I exclaimed. "You're a life saver, Marc!" I threw my arms around him and squeezed him. He hugged me back. "Come on, sis, come in." She stepped inside and closed the door.

"Ok, uh, I carry these everywhere," BloodRayne stated, and held up her blades, "so if there's any place I can put them…"

"I guess you could just put them on the floor," Marc said. Rayne carefully set them on the carpet.

"Come on Rayne," I said to her, and danced to Marc's room.

"Wait, what are those for?" Marc asked BloodRayne.

"Nothing you need to know about," BloodRayne said, picking up her blades and waltzing into the back room. I saw Marc shake his head as I went into the room.

"Here, let me just get a few things, girls," Marc said, and jogged into the room. He took one pillow and a blanket. "Goodnight, Rayne," he said as he walked out.

"Do you sleep here every night?" Rayne asked me.

"Yeah, I basically live here," I answered. "Marc's so nice, letting me live here with him. It's already hard for him to live on his own at 15, but with another person to be burdened with…" I shook my head. "He's amazing."

"What does he even do for a job?" Rayne questioned more.

"I think he works at a mechanic shop as an apprentice, or something," I replied, taking off my boots. "He really loves cars."

"Hmm," BloodRayne said. I climbed into Marc's bed and pulled the covers up. I took my stone with the sack on and set it on the night-table. Rayne started putting her blades back on.

"Going somewhere?" I guessed, just as she took a step towards the window.

"Yes," she answered.

"Hunting, then?" I said, and Rayne opened the window.

"Yes," she answered simply again.

"Sissy," I squeaked quietly. Rayne sighed and came up to me. "Please…just don't kill innocent people." I begged her with my eyes, too.

"Alright," Rayne said quietly. She gave me a motherly peck on the forehead and was gone out the window. She came back up to close the window so the heat would stay in. Then she went to hunt.

I didn't know what was wrong with me; I had killed plenty of people before. Then again, a lot of the things I killed weren't human at all. So maybe that's why when I thought about humans dying at the hands, or really the teeth, of my sister or me, I felt uncomfortable. The only humans I really wanted to kill were my enemies. As I went to sleep, I kept trying to remember my past, the part that was blank…

I woke with a start. I heard something. Kind of like a cracking sound. I looked at the alarm clock to my right and saw I had only gotten two hours of sleep. But that didn't matter. The sound I heard did matter. I turned my head to the left, where I thought the sound was coming from. With my nocturnal eyes I saw my bag moving. In a split second I was up and taking the bag off of my stone. And sure enough, it was moving, and making that cracking sound. It still was.

Now I was a bit scared. What the hell was this thing?! Just then, my sister conveniently showed up. It only took her a second to be standing bedside me. We both stared at it, unblinking, unmoving, and not speaking.

"What the fuck?" Rayne whispered, and at that moment the thing fell to the ground in front of us, and we jumped back at least five steps. Then a piece of the stone flew across the room. But it wasn't a stone; it was an egg. More chunks of the shell fell to the floor, and a hand with claws emerged. As adrenaline pumped through us, we could hear each other's heart beats going a million miles an hour.

"That can't be, could it?..." I whispered. But yes, it was. We watched the little dragon hack its way out of its shell. And once it was completely out, it squeaked at us. "Awww," I said. "She's so cute."

"How do you know it's a she?" Rayne asked.

"You forget I've studied dragons," I replied. "I can tell from her shape; it's just more feminine." She squeaked at us again, and I kneeled down towards her. "Hey, cutie pie…" I said to her. She looked at me intently, with wide, intelligent eyes that were bright blue. "Aren't you beautiful." I noticed she was snow white with a blue tint. She stretched out, just like a cat, and opened her wings. She folded them back in. I dared and reached out to touch her, to pet her…

As soon as my fingertips brushed her scales, I got I dizzying jolt sent through my entire body. My palm seared with fiery pain, and I fell backwards, everything fading to black.

BloodRayne's POV:

"Noo!" I yelled, but not loud enough to wake Marc. I lunged forward and grabbed my sister before her head hit the floor. I held her close and brought out my pistol, pointing it at the creature. Why and how did it hurt my little sister, my only family? I readied the gun to fire. The dragon just looked at me with her big blue eyes. It did nothing. Just…looked.

Rayne stirred in my arms. I looked down at her. Her eyes half-opened.

"Wha…what happened?" she murmured, and then saw my gun pointed at the little dragon. "NO, don't kill her!" she screamed, and tackled me to the ground, pointing the pistol away from the dragon.

"It hurt you," I said to her.

"I'm fine," she retorted. "Now put the gun back." And I did, slowly. She got off me and turned to the dragon. I noticed something though.

"Hey, gimmie your hand," I ordered, and grabbed her left hand.

"What-" she started, then looked down at her palm. A misty, silvery dragon shape was there. "Well…one heck of a tattoo," Rayne said, and smiled.

"Great," I said, letting her hand go. "You get one before I do." She stuck her tongue out at me. "Hey, what happened to you? You passed out for a few seconds."

Rayne's POV again:

"You've never heard of the Dragon Riders?" I said to her. I held up my hand. "This is the Gedwey Ignasia, the mark of the Riders. I should've known. Known that that stone was really a dragon egg. Now I feel kinda stupid about it. And the only reason I passed out was because it was to open my mind. But my power is mind power, so I was only out for a few seconds."

"So you're mind is already open?" BloodRayne asked.

"Exactly," I answered. "I can't wait until she starts talking to me!" I reached out my arm towards her, and she jumped and climbed on my shoulder. She squeaked at my sister. I laughed, but Rayne didn't find it so funny.

"We can't take care of a dragon, Rayne," she said. "We can barely take care of each other! And it's bad enough that a human knows about all this vampire crap-"

"A lot of humans know vampires exist," I interrupted.

"But not what we know!" Rayne snapped. "And Marc knows some of that stuff! Do you realize what's going to have to happen to him." I stared at her. "One of three options: Become a Brimstone member, become a vampire, or die! And I don't think you want any of those to happen to him."

"He'll be fine," I growled. "We'll be fine. And this dragon will be fine. I know how to make things work, alright? Can we do things my way, for once?"

"Fine," she growled in response. She stood up. "You should get some sleep."

"I'm not really tired anymore," I said.

"Get some sleep," my sister said, and just like that she was gone out the window again. I sighed and looked to my new friend.

"She's just protective," I told her. "She really loves me." The dragon looked at me like she was listening. "I think you need a name." Then I remembered something about the first Dragon Rider, about how his dragon was white, too. I knew there was never another white dragon, ever. Until now. "I know what I'll name you. Legacy. Yep…that's your name, Legacy. Do you like it?" she squeaked enthusiastically at me. "I'll take that as a yes!" Legacy pressed her head against my cheek. She looked a lot like Blue Eyes White Dragon, the Duel Monsters card. In fact, exactly like it.

"You're a Frost Dragon, aren't you?" I said. Legacy squeaked quietly. "I know you are. You have all the features of one." I smiled. "This is going to be AWESOME!" I gently petted Legacy, and she made a purring-like sound. I suddenly yawned. "Oh man, maybe I should get some sleep." I climbed back in to the bed, and Legacy climbed in with me. She curled up next to me.

I did no try to think about my blank past as I fell asleep. It didn't matter at the moment. What mattered was this dragon, what the future held for us…
