"I'm telling you, I am not gonna date any guys for a LONG time," I groaned, picking up my bag and swinging it around to my other arm and slid it through.
"Aww common Sam, your last encounter wasn't that bad," Lily smiled, getting to me a bit in her sympathetic ways.
It was sophomore year, the beginning of, and everything was the same. School hadn't changed, I still had to meet with the same boring teachers and the same wanabbe poplars.
But, there were a couple of people I was grateful to have with me.
"Harrison! Over here," Lily called, waving him over with her tiny hand.
"Coming," He said, sluggishly attempting to run over.
"Why are you so…pathetic?" I said, giggling a bit at his attempt to have an awesome back-to-school outfit, a wrinkly plaid shirt, torn jeans from last year, and his trademark converse. Typical Harrison.
"Mom made me get up at 4 to go on a jog with her. She's trying out this whole new 'exercise' thing. I'll I'm gonna say is that I don't like it," He sighed, hugging his binder closer to him as he wedged his way between me and Lily. "So, Sam, how was your summer?"
As soon as the word "summer" left his mouth the bell rang. It was like, that word was literally the last second of summer. School had officially started.
"I have to go. I've got Bradshaw," I moaned, and Lily and Harrison waved quickly.
I watched them fade into the ocean crowd of high schoolers, new and old, pushing through to their new classrooms.
Though I probably looked like an idiot watching them -walking backwards, I might add- it paid off.
"Whoops," I said, bumping into someone from behind and hearing books fall to the ground.
"No problem," He replied. I turned to face him.
He stood about 6 feet tall, dark brown hair that fell in an edgy shag over his face, and shockingly blue eyes. I rendered speechless. This guy was a god.
"So, you new here?" He asked, obviously trying to start conversation with me who was standing there looking like an idiot who cant speak.
"No, No." I said, wondering why the hell I just said it twice.
"Good. You can show me around at lunch," he smiled, and we headed into the classroom which was surprisingly just two steps away from where I bumped into him.
"Um, sure," I said, not exactly sure if he was flirting or just being friendly.
I stuck with flirting.
