A.N.: Sorry I took more time to update… stupid tests! Anyway, ENJOY!
“Alaska, then?,” Rose asked
Carlisle pondered for a few seconds, before nodding.
“Alaska,” he agreed. “But no one can know. Not even Charlie, Bella. All his letters will keep coming here… so we can come once a week to check if there’s something.”
I nodded. “Okay.”
Then, everyone was in movement, like hurricanes, running from one side to the other, leaving cleanliness, instead of destruction. A few seconds later, all the family was heading to the cars.
“Sorry,” I whispered to Alice and Rose, as they passed.
Alice giggled and rolled her eyes. “What are you apologizing for, Bella?”
“For making us have to move. Again.”
Rosalie laughed, followed closely by Alice.
“We didn’t like it here either, Bella,” Alice said, patting my head.
“You didn’t?,” I asked, confused.
Both of them shook their heads.
“But… what about the shoppings?”
Alice, then, laughed delighted
“I had to give some plausible excuse, Bella. Plus, it’s not like Alaska has no shopping malls at all. Although they aren’t as big or as well equipped as the ones here, she added.
I had to smile at that.
“Don’t worry, Bella,” Rosalie said lightly. “We are as much fans of big cities as you are. If you hadn’t slipped now, one of would have done so, just to move, soon enough,” she giggled.
Alice rolled her eyes and sighed.
I was still shaking my head in amusement when I climbed into the passenger seat of the Volvo.
The plane trip was okay, but boring. Since I didn’t get sleepy anymore, I watched the film that was passing.
When we got off the plane in Alaska, I was surprised to see the reception there. The only non-surprised ones of the family were Alice, Edward and Carlisle.
Tanya, Kate, Carmen, Eleazar and Garrett were all there, waiting for us.
I was never exactly excited to have Edward close to Tanya, even though I knew she wouldn’t do anything like Sarah had. It just made me uncomfortable; knowing what I knew.
I grabbed Edward’s arm, and he sighed. He knew me well.
“Carlisle!,” Tanya exclaimed, embracing him
“You look well, Tanya.”
She laughed. “And indeed I am well, Carlisle. But I’m not the one who matters here! How about you?”
“Fine. Absolutely fine, Tanya.”
Her eyes darted to where I was, still clinging on to Edward’s arm, then back to Carlisle. “Well, that’s good… but, if you’ll forgive me… if everything is so fine, then why on earth did you have to leave New York? I thought you’d settled there.”
“Indeed we had, dear friend. But I’ll explain things better later.”
The Denali coven nodded, and started leading the way through the airport.
“So you left New York, then?”
“Yes, Kate.”
“That must be so bad for you. I’ve heard it is really nice there.”
We all smiled slightly at that.
“Sure. It’s big, and noisy, and crowded, and polluted,” Rosalie said. “None of us was sad to have to leave.” She smiled at me.
“Polluted? Never heard that part before!,” Carmen mused
“Well, the sun never breaks through the cloud of pollution. You get the view,” Jasper said.
“Well then. What brings you all back to this side of the country?” Tanya asked.
“Peace and quiet. And a place for a new start. Of course, we have changed our names. It’s much too close to Forks for us not to do so. We are now known as the Masen family. I’m sure you know where the name came from,” Carlisle told Tanya with a smile.
All eyes diverted to Edward, who was studiously gazing at Carlisle. His expression seemed composed, but I thought he looked a bit rueful.
“Yes. Well then. Where are you going to stay? Here with us? You know you’re always welcome, Carlisle.”
“Thank you, Tanya. We will accept your offer, while we look for a house for ourselves around here.”
Tanya nodded. “We are going to hunt now. But please make yourselves comfortable.”
“Can I go with them, Momma?,” Nessie asked
“Sure, Renesmee.” I turned to Tanya. “Do you mind if she goes with you?”
“Not at all,” Tanya said. “Does she hunt like us?”
“Yes. No difference at all,” Rose said
“Of course she can come!,” Carmen exclaimed.
Nessie flashed her beautiful smile, then turned to Jacob.
“Nessie… I’m not sure if it’s a good idea,” Edward said softly
“Why? Jacob can hunt, too.”
I saw Tanya watching Jacob speculatively. “Anyone who wants to come with us, is welcome,” she announced.
“Thanks,” Jacob said, talking for the first time since we’d landed.
Then, Tanya, Carmen, Kate, Eleazar, Garrett, Jake and Nessie ran out the back door, like seven tornados, in to the forest around the house and disappeared.
A.N.: So frightfully sorry I took so long!
I’m also sorry to say that I have run out of ideas for this fanfic. In a clearer language, you can say that this is the last chapter of Hurricane. Yes, I know. I’m sad, too. This was amazing, and my favorite fanfic to write. You guys were awesome with the reviews, and I’ll miss writing this stuff.
For those interested, I’ve just put up Edward’s POV of when he leaves Bella in New Moon, and also the second chapter of Blue Moon.
My special thanks to:
Chocoholic4eva: I’ll believe you when you say that’s Greek! All I know is I didn’t understand a thing ;).
I’m so glad you liked it! And thanks ever so much for sticking with the story, even when I get late to update :D.
Fangirl12: Thanks! It’s always a pleasure to please you guys! Thanks for reviewing ;)
Okay… I think that’s it, then.
Thank you also to everyone who read this story, if you reviewed or not.
Peace,
Mandy
