God, I don’t want this at all. I try to tell her that, but in my eyes she can see the lie. Or rather, in my eyes she can see the truth. I say that it’s wrong because that’s the right thing to do. I tell her to stop because I know that if she doesn’t, I’m going to regret it in the morning. But right now, tonight, with her looking that way at me, I can feel every bone in my body bend beneath the pressure of her smile. I can’t do this, I tell her. Please don’t…but she does.
