As always, comments, critique and flames are all welcome! :3

Chapter 1

Jill Valentine opened her bleary eyes slowly, but closed them again quickly when she couldn’t remember why exactly she was waking up in the first place.

She began backtracking her memory in fast rewind. Remembering she was doing something, feeling a presence behind her, a shadow, something solid connecting sharply with the back of her head, she fell, a harsh bark of laughter filling the air and forcing its way into her mind.

'Wesker.'

Jill was filled with anger, the thought of that blonde, laughing man kidnapping her filling her with a hatred that made her open her eyes.

When Jill opened her eyes, she was greeted by the sight of Albert Wesker, sitting across from her in what appeared to be a helicopter cabin. He sat up straight, his arms folded across his chest, an amused smirk playing across his face.

"You're awake, my dear." He said, mockingly, and began laughing.

Jill glared with all her might at the older man. Trying to look through his trademark sunglasses to see his eyes, but the shades where always so dark, always preventing her from reading him.

"It's not that sunny today, Wesker," Jill said, once Wesker had finished laughing, a mock smile playing on her own lips. "In fact, it's quite dark. You look ridiculous with those sunglasses."

Wesker continued to smile at Jill, his smile spreading into an entertained grin, his white teeth showing. "Would you like me to take them off?" He asked, politely. Jill remained quiet, but when Wesker raised his left hand to the shades, his face serious, and took the sunglasses away from his pale face, Jill sincerely wished he'd put them back on.

His eyes, they where like a monsters eyes. Slit-like pupils, yellow iris' tinted with red around the edges. At Jill's shocked face, Wesker smiled, his pupils thinning impossibly more.

Something shifted beside Wesker, and Jill found herself surprised, she hadn't even noticed the boy sitting near Wesker. The boy looked no older than 18, his pale youthful features looking in purposely at a crate on the floor of the cabin. Jill could just barely see the boys eyes. Slit-like pupils, completely red iris'. He looked as if he was trying his best not to look at Jill.

"Noticed him, have you Jill?" Wesker asked, amusement playing in his deep voice. "He'll be escorting you to the … residence … that you'll be staying in."

Jill looked back at Wesker again, glaring at him again. "My disappearance won't go unnoticed by my friends." Jill said simply, she no longer had anything more to say to Wesker.

But Wesker continued to smile, his hand raising to place his shades back on his face. "I'm counting on that, my dear Jill." He said, and remained silent for the rest of the helicopter journey.

Jay Takashi tapped his pencil against the document for several minutes, bored out of his mind and unsure of what to write.

Mr Myzizuru was a very impatient man, and whenever reports came back with the words "progress remains undeveloped" or something similar to that, the poor guy who delivered the message would go "missing".

For the last few days Jay had managed to make up some reports that weren't so far from the truth, things like "Pulse raised minutely, returned to normal 2 minutes later." Mr Myzizuru was a clever man, but with a project this big running he had adapted the ability of "choice-memory", it didn't really matter what you showed him as long as it had some form of progress. But Jay was beginning to run out of ideas.

Jay rubbed at his tired eyes, and sniffed. Stupid allergies. He thought randomly. He

was allergic to dust and this facility had shit-loads of it. Jay looked up at the Project from his place in front of it behind his desk. The Project floated in a pool of liquid, curled slightly, its legs bent and its snout down, in its stasis tank.

Looking around to make sure no one was around, Jay smiled wickedly and pulled his middle finger up to the Project. A joke, but one that killed time. Even for just a few seconds- -and the Project's eyes flew open, its acid yellow eyes almost glaring at Jay. The slits of its pupils that resembled a snake's staring fixedly at him. Jay dropped his hand quickly, while his other hand began writing on the report as quick at his wary bones would let him, never taking his eyes away from the Project's. The Project stretched its jaw, revealing sharp jagged teeth that curved towards the back of its mouth, its snake-like canines curling away from the roof of its mouth. Something much like a very muffled roar radiated from the stasis tank, vibrating through the ground below, Jay felt his mug of well-cold tea jittering from the vibrations. The roar wasn't loud, but then again, the liquid it floated in was thick and probably did muffle it well. Jay had the feeling he'd need to block his ears with cotton wool when they let this thing out.

All of this happened in less than half a minute, and the Project's eyes where closing, its canine teeth rolling again to the roof of its mouth as its jaw closed slowly. Jay looked at the information on the small console in front of the stasis tank, the stats' lowering back to its coma-like status, presumably they where once at the stage to show it had woken up. Jay sighed with relief, and looked down at the long report he had written.

The sentences fell at an angle, not having enough time to properly adjust the page to write straight. Jay resisted the urge to laugh at his own report, he'd even managed to pad the report with long and unnecessary words. Padding his reports like one would insulate a house had become instinct to Jay now, and finally a chuckle that almost sounded like a nervous giggle squeezed through his lips.

Jay stood up from his desk, his chair scraping back against the grey tile floor. He walked to the phone that would connect him to Mr Myzizuru. In this time of night, Mr Myzizuru was probably in bed, not asleep, but "entertaining" his wife.

Jill tried to take in as much as she could of the area as she was escorted across the desert area. Looking for any and every possible escape route.

Once the helicopter had landed, Jill was shoved out of the rear end of the 'copter and the boy jumped out too, not long after walking for a while Jill heard the helicopter take off. She walked slightly in front of the teenager, taking in everything she could.

A huge desert landscape as far as she could see, the cold night air sending sand everywhere. Jill and the boy where walking towards a multitude of buildings.

They where a plain series of rectangular and square buildings. Six altogether, only two having doors as far as she could tell. A third if you counted the huge shutter probably used to store vehicles or something.

There wasn't a fence surrounding the area, but it would probably take forever for a wandering person to find these buildings in the vast area, and if they did, they'd probably be shot right on the spot. There was even the Umbrella logo on the front of the largest building.

"I thought Wesker worked for someone else now." Jill said, to herself mainly, but hoping for a response from the boy.

"He does," came the voice of the boy. "But Umbrella doesn't know that yet. Besides, Wesker works for himself."

The teen sounded young. It surprised Jill because his eyes kind of demanded he had a deep voice. 'He's still a kid…'

"And what about you?" Jill asked, glancing back at the teen. Even though it was dark, the moon was huge here and gave off enough light. She could see his pupils had gone more oval-shaped.

"Wrong place, wrong time. I lucked out." He said, plainly. "I work for Wesker."

Jill turned away. 'No time to feel empathetic to the kid.'

Jill stopped walking when the teenager jogged a little, and stopped in front of her. He turned to face her, his face dead-serious and his pupils back to slits. "Look." He said, "Things are going to get really bad from here on out-"

Jill let out a short bark of laughter, glaring, "Where've you been, kid? Things are already bad. For me anyway."

The boy hesitated, looking as though he was ready to explode, but he seemed to reign himself in. When he spoke, it came out in a growl. "I'm trying to help you here. If Wesker knew I was telling you this I'd be dead in a second. So shut up and listen to me."

Jill was forced to be quiet by the inhuman growl behind his voice. 'Poor kids been tampered with, that's for sure.’ Jill set her face to serious again, prepared to listen. "Alright, lets hear it then."

The boy sighed, his voice returning to normal, his pupils going oval-shaped again. "You're about to walk into an Umbrella facility. Research is going on here, and according to the lab coats, you're going to be another test subject. What they don't know is that things are going to go wrong, on purpose if you understand." He said, pausing slightly, "It's all part of a trap, Wesker kidnapped you to lure all of your friends to this base. Its all going to be a test. Umbrella want to know what you're capable of."

"Didn't they find all of that out in the Spencer Estate?" Jill asked.

"There's more to your group now, and you guys have proven to be more resilient than Umbrella had hoped." The boy said. "Don't try to escape until the madness starts. You'll know when. Look for a guy called Jay Takashi, he'll be able to help you but it'll take some time. Try and contact your friends and tell them not to look for you. If you have Jay with you you'll be fine on your own."

Jill listened, but she didn't like it. Still, she didn't protest, just took it all in. The boy started to turn and walk again towards the facility when Jill asked, "Wait. Why did Wesker capture me? Why not one of the others?"

The boy actually smiled this time, "Feeling spiteful?" When Jill remained silent, the boy said, "If you think hard enough, you'll realise that you're not that different from me and Wesker."

Offended, Jill started to protest, but the boy turned and started walking away. Without really thinking, Jill followed.
