Sitting here my heart beating,
I listen closely,
I jump up,
'Objection my lord,
The counsel is leading my lord'
But the only thing she was leading was him,
Leading him further and further away,
My footsteps echoed down the long hall,
I hear them,
I raise my hand,
and I touch the handle.
The only thing she was touching was his heart,
pushing me further and further away
Lying on the bed
I hear my tears falling softly on the pillow,
I tuck my knees under my chin,
My breath hitches,
Rattling around in my chest,
She rattles the door knob,
Driving me further and further into my shell.
