Chapter 5

"O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?" Rose and Shakespeare, a dangerous combo, "Deny thy father and refuse thy name! Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn by my love!" Rosalie flung herself into my arms as I entered the living room and we both giggled.

"This is studying for English Lit.?" I tossed her onto the couch, continuing into the kitchen.

"In a way? Duh!" She skimmed through her notebook, while I snorted to myself and opened the fridge in search of a quick bite to eat.

I ended up settling on last Friday’s order of Chinese food, "Well, lets hope you pass then, huh?"
"I'm quite confident, I will." She yawned.

My phone beeped a few times, making me glance toward it hopefully. I popped the lo-main into the microwave and eagerly snatched my cell phone from my back pocket. I started grinning ear to ear as the phone lit up 'Text Message from Edward'.

'Jasper is not home yet, should I be worried about Alice having her wicked way with him??'

I giggled to myself, shyly peeking over at Rose to catch her shaking her head at me. I shrugged my shoulders, sticking my tongue out at her childishly before returning to my phone.

'Oh, I think not, dear Eddie. Perhaps it's Jasper I should be worried about! In which case, I'll go ready the hounds.' I tried not to think about how lame that might have sounded, and quickly hit the send button, snapping my phone closed and returning to my dinner preparations.

"I swear, you're like a little sixteen year-old girl," Rose taunted, pretending to be studying innocently, "giggling on about some boy, like that."

"And I swear, you're like the high school tease, trying to take the school's quarter back for the ride of his life." I retorted, as the microwave 'dinged'.

"Would you have a point to that statement?" She asked unfazed, I rolled my eyes, pulling the steaming white cartridge out. I then grabbed a paper plate out of the cabinet, when that familiar beeping sound returned.

'I'd rather not have my best friend ripped apart by hounds, but on the other hand, I would not have to hear about Alice all day. No offence, of course! I would just much rather hear about you all day.'

I could feel the blood rushing to my cheeks. It blew me away whenever Edward would say little comments such as this one, and I knew a broad grin had made its way onto my lips, "He is quite the charmer."

"Oh, what now?" Rosalie noticed my expressions and comment.

"Do not be jealous, Rose." I responded, typing in my answer to Edward. 'I would venture to say, by about noon, there wouldn't be much left to talk about lol.'

"Me, jealous??" She practically squealed, I finished scooping the noodles onto my plate and tossed out the cartridge, "Sweetheart, no." She waved me away.

"Whatever you say, Princess." I spoke the last part sarcastically, taking a seat beside her.
"And don't forget it." She pursed her lips, giving me a small wink.

We sat without speaking to each other for a moment. I slurped my noodles, and Rosalie chanted her notes to herself in an attempt to memorize them all. I gave a nervous glance toward the door, than took out my cell to check the time.

"She's late." Rose stated before I could.

"It's only 10. Remember they went to dinner and a movie." I clarified and flipped open my cell before it could beep.

'In your opinion, I, however, think you're actually a topic that is endless. And I would love to be able to speak about you in person... soon.' My heart began to race, was Edward trying to ask me on a date?!

"Hello??" Rosalie waved her hand in front of my face.

"Rose, give her until about 10:30, if she's not home by then, we will go out, find Jasper, and kill him. Okay?" I told her, a bit aggravated.

"Whatever, fine." She pretended to be mad, flopping back onto the couch.

'Are you trying to hint something to me, Mr. Cullen?'

"Sorry hon, you just worry a bit too much at times." I put my hand on her leg, making a puppy face, she soon smiled.

"I just hope her first real date with him went well-"

"Rosalie, you're doing it again." I warned and laughed, she gave me a playful push.

"Oh forget it." She tapped her pen against her notebook impatiently.

I opened my phone at the first beep, before she ripped my head off from annoyance, ' Why, yes I am. Would you care to join me for a date this Friday night?'

'Yes I would. Pick me up at seven?' I was more then thrilled, more then excited, in fact, I couldn't even find the words to describe how content I was.

"I hear Alice!" Rose pulled me out of my moment of bliss, as Alice's key unlocked the door.

"Hey guys!" She boomed happily when she entered, Jasper smiling widely behind her.

"Here she is, safe and sound." He laughed, fingers entwined with hers. I took out my phone real quick.

' Gladly. I hope you like surprises.'

'Why???'

"I need to inspect her first." I threw the plate onto the coffee table, closed my cell and jumped up. I snatched Alice out of his hand playfully and began circling her, causing everyone to laugh. "Hmm..."

"Does she pass??" Jasper asked, trying to sound concerned.

"Eh, I guess." Shrugging, I released her back into Jaspers arms. He swooped her up happily, planting a kiss on her forehead.

"I had a great time." She gazed up at him, he smiled down at her with a twinkle in his eye, making me feel a rush of happiness for Alice.

"Then I did my job." His voice filled with excitement, hastily stealing a kiss before letting her go.

"I know you guys are playing Saturday at the Rat Cellar right?" It seemed more like a statement, as Alice grabbed both his hands in hers.

I turned my cell on vibrate, as to not disturb everyone, when a text came in, 'No reason.'

'Liar, lol. Fine I'll see Friday. And! Jasper and Alice are safe. Btdubbs (Lmfao I said it), apparently we are going to the Rat Cellar Saturday.'

"Yes ma'am, would you guys be able to make it?"

"Of course! Emmett will be there?" Now Rose was enthusiastic.

"Yeah, all of us will be." He chuckled, "So, I'll see you girls Saturday?" He was staring at Alice warmly.

"We'll be there." She grinned as he leaned down giving her one last kiss. She stood on her toes to meet him half way, their lips seemed to barely touch, as they lingered on each other for what seemed like eternity.

"Ahem-ouch!" Rosalie had received a quick elbow to the ribs from me after clearing her throat, the couple broke apart smiling.

"I'll call you later." He was through the doorway, looking as if he was having an internal battle about leaving Alice.

"Okay... Bye." She bit her lip. He then gave a quick wink before turning to walk down the hall.

"Detail time!" Rose exclaimed in a sing-song and slammed the door shut, grabbing Alice and leading her to the couch. Just like the night of Rosalie's date with Emmett, we all leaped onto the couch, struggling to find the perfect position for comfort. Finally, Rose and I settled on the edges, as Alice took the middle. I hugged my knees to my chest, and Rosalie cupped her cheek, we glared at Alice who was giggling at us.

"Okay, okay!" She waved us off, and snuggled deeper into the couch. "Well, we ate at this cute little diner over by Fenway, then hit the cineplex to see the new George Clooney movie." She stopped, we all sat quietly, only for a second.

"And?!" Rosalie blurted, Alice beamed.

"Oh!!" I practically shot into the air, as the vibrations ran through my pants. We exploded into giggles at the surprising sensation.

"Wow, Bella, something you want to share?" Alice teased, I rolled my eyes retrieving the source.
"Continue, Alice." I grumbled.

' Aww, Jasper got to invite you before me. Oh well, at least I'll have the opportunity to see you Friday and Saturday.'

"He has such a sense of humor!" She squealed, grabbing my leg with too much enthusiasm. I managed to murmur an 'Ouch' between her rambling.

"And he said he wants to show me some of his work soon. So I'll get to see their place." Alice surprised us with a sly wink, we burst into laughter again.

"Do not give into the charm too early." Rosalie wagged her finger, together Alice and I swatted her away.

"Yes, Rose, because I am so very easy." Alice replied sarcastically.

"Okay, smartass, I was just saying." She pursed her lips, trying not to smile with us.

"Must you two text so often?" Alice was leaning over my shoulder trying to read the message.

'Trust me, I can't wait either.'

"Can't wait on what??" My spunky companion nudged me repeatedly.

"Date on Friday, and the show Saturday." I answered.

"Yes!! That means we get to go to the mall tomorrow!" She leaped off the couch excitedly.

'Thank you. Your date has brought yet another one of Alice's shopping escapades lol.'

"Alice, don't you think I have enough clothing?" I whined, which made her glare at me for a moment.

"Your wardrobe consists of jeans, tank tops, band tees, hoodies, two pairs of flip-flops, and the rest is sneakers." I was only slightly shocked that she knew my entire closet.

"She’s right, you need something somewhat dressy for Friday." Rosalie interjected.

I threw her a side-ways look, two against one. I had lost... "Why can't i just burrow from Rose like I usually do when I need something less casual??" I argued. Alice had enough glamour outfits for our whole school; however she was practically a twig compared to me.

"No." Alice spoke bluntly.

"But-"

"No!" This time they said it together, I sighed and shrunk back into the sofa, answering my phone.

'Oh wow. I apologize for that lol. Any way I can make it better??'

"Aww, Bella, we are going to doll you up so nice. Edward won't be able to keep his hands off of you!" Alice assured me, I couldn't help but smirk at the idea.

"See, I must be rubbing off on you." Rose grinned proudly.

"Oh, please." Alice rolled her eyes, I rested my head on Rose's shoulder chuckling to myself. I had to admit the idea of Edward not being able to keep his hands off of me wasn't a bad thought at all, well so to speak...
