Authors Note: I know, I know. Why am I writing a one-shot when I should be working on Life After Death? Well, I just got done with chapter 2, and I am waiting for it to be edited. So don't worry, I'm not doing this instead of that.
The idea for this little one-shot came from malaz on the Twilight Lexicon! Thank you for the brilliant idea! Even though it's short, I still had fun writing it!
Summary: Emmett is there when Jacob chucks his dog bowl at Rosalie in Breaking Dawn, and gets mad. One-Shot.
Disclaimer: I own nothing. Everything belongs to Stephenie Meyer and that brilliant mind of hers.
Emmett's Point of View
We were all lounging around the living room. My feet were up on the coffee table, my eyes intent on the game on television. I was trying my best to ignore the dog that was only feet away, sitting next to Bella.
Over the past couple of weeks, Jacob had been over a lot. I know he's helping us, but every time he comes over, it seems like he has yet another idiotic joke to tell my wife, and that angered me.
Out of nowhere, I felt a rush of air. I looked up just in time to see the dog bowl Rosalie had make Jacob hit her in the head. The sound made a loud bang as ricocheted off Rosalie's head and landed on the floor. The dog busted up, laughing hysterically.
That did it.
I felt the anger rise up in me and take over.
"You did NOT just do that!" I yelled, completely forgetting my place on the couch. I grabbed the mutt by his shirt and pounding him against the wall.
"Chill out! It was just, it was just a joke," he pleaded, looking very scared.
"Shut the hell up you mongrel! Nothing you do to her is 'just a joke!'" I pulled him off the wall and smashed him back into it, causing the large plasma screen TV to fall from its hanging place. As much as I loved that thing, breaking it was nothing compared to having someone disrespect Rosalie.
"You will never speak, touch, or even think about my wife ever again! Do you understand?" I sneered.
"Yes," he gasped, swallowing in obvious horror.
"Good," I growled, letting him drop.
I didn't look up to see Edward or Bella's expression. I only saw Rosalie as I moved over and picked her up, swiftly moving up the stairs. Slamming the door, I went to lie on the bed, pulling her with me. I hugged her tightly. She snuggled closer, sighing.
"Thank you, Emmett," she whispered into my shirt; her words like music. I stroked her soft, golden hair. She was so beautiful, and so right for me. I was amazed at how lucky I had gotten. To have someone who balanced me out so perfectly; it was a miracle she had come into my life.
"Anything for you, Rose, anything."
