Hey fortuneteller513 here!! I was wondering if I was making Ben to doting on fran (at least in his mind. I haven't done anything like this before and I'm worried. So send me a comment on what you think PLEASE!!
Part Two!!
Slightly startled, my hand stilled from the action of brushing her legs. My eyebrows lifted as I reluctantly moved my hands. Being near her made my skin tingle.
"My apology." I said, succeeding at sounding neutral. Somehow I was controlling myself.
She straightened up, tugged on her t-shirt nervously, and proceeded to glare at me. I was taller than she was, so her (adorable) glare had to tilt up or she would be glaring (adorably) at my neck. As she realized this, her face became blank and confused.
"You're taller than me." She said softly, her silky voice exuding amazement. Wonder what that's saying about the male population here. I inwardly smirked.
"I'm glad to see that you aren't suffering any brain damage. What is your name?" I said, trying to act like I really didn't want to know. Common courtesy.
I expected her to reply with some sarcastic remark, but her mind became increasingly befuddled. However, she stumbled over her words.
"Fran. Uh…Francesca. My dad's parents are Italian. I was named for my grandmother. She's in Italy." She mumbled, and then began to berate her words. Oh, brilliant, Fran. Make him think you're a raving lunatic. Not that I did, or ever would, probably.
"That's a very pretty name. I like it." She was very amusing, it was making me smile. Her name was pretty, befitting. Elegant, yet strong. Cute.
Her eyes narrowed in on my smile, checking for canines, I'm sure. Her mind seemed to become happier when I smiled.
Her mouth opened, about to speak, when another person came around the corner followed by two bulkier men.
My body twitched ever so slightly, ready to protect her if I needed to. She seemed to know the person because she relaxed slightly. My eyes shifted to the person in suspicion. Hmm…
"Fran, are you all right?" The boy asked, limping slightly over to where we stood. Was he injured or something?
I glanced from Fran to the boy, then back to Fran. "Boyfriend?" I asked, concealing the bubble of jealousy in my stomach, inwardly preparing to fight for her.
My worries seemed to be unfounded though, as she snorted. "Not! He's younger than me." I relaxed at her response, feeling content that she didn't like him. He, however, seemed to have other ideas.
"Is something wrong, Fran?" he asked, giving me a look of anger, like I had taken away his favorite chocolate bar right as he was about to eat it. He reminded me of a Golden Retriever puppy. A really annoying one.
"It's okay, I was just run over. The cable isn't hurt, though." She replied jokingly.
"Run over?" The other men rushed around the boy and grabbed the cable, inspecting the ends. I frowned a little, not liking the way they were only worried about the cord. This wonderful, beautiful girl was almost run over!
"Joke, Soren. I'm not hurt. This is Imogen's brother."
I looked at her, wondering how she knew. Was she one of Imogen's friends? Then again, how many Dark ones could be in Hungary the same night that I had told Imogen I was returning to the GothFaire?
"Benedikt Czerny."
Sorry this chapter was so short, but I am having real trouble figuring out how I'm going to write the whole book, and I have school, AND another story, so… I will do my best!
