People were pretty annoyed at me for my last story so here's a slightly happier sequel.
R/R Please
Broken
Jeanne had left.
Those words echoed through her mind.
She wasn’t happy though, relieved maybe but not happy that Tony was left broken and hurt.
And as she prepares to spend yet another night alone, she wonders what would’ve happened if his cover hadn’t been blown. Would he have kept up his charade as Tony Dinardo and just kept falling deeper and deeper in love?
She shook the thoughts of Tony being in love with another woman out of her head. She had come to accept the fact that he didn’t have feelings for her, she was just his friend and partner from work. And she had learnt to keep her emotions in check, after what had happened a year ago, she had come to accept it and move on.
Her musings were interrupted by her doorbell ringing.
Wondering who would visit this late, she made her way to the door.
And standing outside her on her doorstep was Tony, the one who had been occupying her thoughts just then.
He was holding a paper bag, no doubt with a bottle of tequila inside, “For old time’s sake?”
She nodded and let him in.
It wouldn’t be like old times, she knew that it would never be the same as it was before the Jeanne incident. But maybe they could now start mending the void that had separated them and make their own memories just as well as they were a year ago.
Reviews are welcome so are threats to my life, although not as much.
