Drabble Twelve: Foreplay
Summary: Talim and Yoshimitsu engage in mental warfare.
Rating: T

Short one compared to all the rest. Inspired when watching two friends play chess like ages ago when we had a free class in Maths (With my own little tweaks of course) Spare me a moment to review, Over 1200 views and only like 16 reviews? I like to hear what my readers have to say though I guess if it's not Talim/Yun-Seong then no one is interested.

Yoshi need loves too!

Sorry for the mini spaz, You don't deserve it. I work hard attempting this pairing so it would be really nice to know that my hardwork is not going down the drain :(
Okay okay, I'm stealing your time. I'll shut up now :)

EDIT: Forgot that there was no "Queen" in Shogi, only gold and silver generals who had the same fuction.

Y.&.T

He was in her kingdom now, practically using his famous “Door Knocker” technique on her to great effect. There was just no way she could possibly halt his advance. Talim grimaced as his timber hand reached forward and wrapped his artificial fingers around her pride and joy, one of her gold generals. The young priestess groaned loudly as his hand retreated back to his own side and taking her wooden piece with him. He did not have to take that with him. He had lured her into countless traps already and kept her pinned down by force that he could have taken anything he pleased.

But no, Yoshimitsu just had to add insult to injury.

Unless...Talim surveyed the board, desperately looking for a way out of her predicament.

“You're cheating. I'm sure of it”, Talim whispered, tugging nervously the collar necklace hanging down against her chest.

"I would never", Yoshimitsu insisted earnestly, making the innocent hand gestures like they some how backed him up.

She did not know the game as well as he did. A bead of sweat dripped down the side of her forehead and fell along the gentle swan of her neck; disappearing down the center of her shirt in a painfully slow manner. His masked face tilted down slightly and Talim swore that she saw the red gaze follow the path of the bead with obvious interest.

“I’m up here Yoshi”, Talim remarked with a sugar and venom laced tone, her dark eyes flashing. The Manji ninja said nothing and simply cocked his head to the side in a feeble attempt to remain innocent.

"I can see that."

She could only imagine the expression that must have been on his face; probably a mixture of amusement and his unseen eyes twinkling with a sickening sense of victory and authority. Talim jerked back as Yoshimitsu leaned forward across the board slightly and locked his burning gaze with her bright stare.

“Thou is mine now” he hissed through the confines of the mask. Talim felt herself suddenly shiver unexpectedly but she held her ground against him; surprising him with her sudden display of strength. He had suspected dominating her in this twisted game would have been easy. Supporting her weight on her arms, Talim leaned forward until she was barely an inch away from his mask. The sudden sharp inhaling from the depths of mask was loud enough for them both to hear.

“What are you waiting for then?” she whispered, sounding perfectly innocent. Yoshimitsu shuddered slightly, attempting to keep his breathing regular as the priestess ghosted her lips against his cold, porcelain cheek.

“Check”, Yoshimitsu managed to whisper through a dull haze.

Suddenly, Talim shifted and Yoshimitsu felt her hand suddenly dart forward; pressing her fingertips upon the prize. Beneath his mask, his eyes widened with shock as Talim pulled it forward. He looked down, hardly able to believe his eyes. The little minx had blocked the path of his goldgeneral with a knight, hence releasing her king from his grasp! He should have seen that! Why didn’t he see that?

"Your bishop is exposed." Yoshimitsu glowered at the young priestess, who simply smiled sweetly back at him. Talim had distracted him into ignoring one of the few possible sources that still opposed him on the board. Yoshimitsu cursed her feminine charms soundly before shifting his attention back to the matter at hand.

No matter, Yoshimitsu would teach her the meaning of humidity and respect. No one could beat him at Shogi.

“Thou does think she has outwitted me but I am a very patient man” Yoshimitsu watched Talim’s perfect white teeth gleam at him and felt the sudden urge to kiss the smug smile off her pretty little face. With victory set firmly in his mind, Yoshimitsu moved another fine wooden piece into his “Talim Trap” then knitted his hands together with a smile set upon his lips.

“Checkmate”
