He thinks his family are the most messed up group of tarts, chavs and dim-wits he's ever come across. They are all a stereotype of different things. But he loves them all the same. They're his family after all.

The day he left Craig Dean at the airport he only slept for three uneasy hours.

(He dreams of red cardigans and bittersweet lies)

When he finds out Hannah is bulimic he can only blame himself. Such a sweet girl that he'd taken something from and could never give back. Then of course all the humiliation he put her through. She smiles at him and tells him it's not his fault and wants them to become friends he smiles and nods his head like expected.

(He thinks Hannah Ashworth is a liar, and that he knows, is something they have in common)

When he picks up Craig's phone and starts texting Sarah to meet him upstairs. He feels a sick excitement. He knows what will happen and he knows he will regret it. He knows she'll get hurt.

(He just can't bring himself to care)

When his relationship with Kieron is revealed and his mother is shouting at him that religion is all she has he can only bite his lip to stop the laughter coming.

(All those children from all those men. His mother's the biggest hypocrite he knows)

His first kiss with Craig was at the time the happiest moment of his life. In his mind, moments later Craig would come out, break up with Sarah and the two of them would live happily ever after.

(Sometimes he wishes he was still that naive)

When he finds Kieron dead, time stops. Numbness takes over and the world will end any second from now. He can't breath, he can't move and he wonders as he hears the chatter outside why all the rest of the world hasn't stopped with him. He picks up his phone and he calls an ambulance.

(He knows it's time to grow up now)

He loves music. It's his escape from the crazy world around him, he even became a DJ so he could spend a little more time away from the real world.

(Because the real world is just a little too scary sometimes)

As he runs to catch the train, to catch Craig there are a million thoughts and feelings running through his head. When he thinks he's missed the train, a million more. When he sees Craig standing there though, there's only one.

(That really was the happiest moment of his life)

He can't remember when he stopped thinking of Niall as a friend, even a best friend, and more like a brother.

(After he'd left with Craig, Niall came knocking on his door five weeks later while he was alone. He knew he wasn't his friend let alone his brother anymore. Something was coming)
