Yay
Yay! It was Naruto’s birthday yesterday. I was going to write a story for him but I forgot up until now.
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto
Bold words are thoughts.
Walking alone in the streets of Konoha, yet again. thought Naruto.
He has just returned from a 4 month mission, and so far he has to walk to the Hokage Tower, give whoever is at the tower the mission report, walk back to his house, cook some ramen, eat said ramen, and then finally (unless he decides to bathe) go to sleep. Did I mention that he traveled 8 hours straight and now it is 12:00 midnight and it just had to be ONE of the days in Konoha that it SNOWS?
Ya now I see why you never travel during the night. No one’s awake! thought Naruto. Eh! Who’s that up ahead?
“Oi, you there, who are you?” yelled are favorite hyper active ninja.
“N…Naruto-kun? Is that you?” stammered the mystery person.
“Huh? Hinata-Chan? What are you doing out here this late, and in this weather?!”
“Um, I just returned from my mission about 15 minutes ago.”
By now they are walking together toward the Hokage Tower.
“Really? I returned like, 10 minutes ago, I think.” stated Naruto.
“Oh.”
They walked in an awkward silence for about another 5 minutes, when all of a sudden, Naruto’s stomach just decided to talk.
‘GROWL’
Argh! Why do you betray me NOW stomach, WHY? I was just about to talk to Hinata and you ruined it by growling. WAAAA!!
Hey, kid shut-up. I’m trying to sleep here.
Huh? Oh, sorry I forgot I don’t HAVE MY OWN MIND!! Why do I have to share it with a stupid Nine Tailed Fox anyways?!
Because you’re just lucky, now SHUT – UP!
“Uh, Naruto-kun? Would you like some of my food? I still have some left over from the mission.” said Hinata.
“Really? Thanks Hinata-Chan!?”
Now that Naruto’s stomach has been fed, the reports have been turned in, and Hinata’s blushing has stopped, shall we continue?
“Um, Naruto-kun? Today’s the tenth of October, right?”
“Yeah. Why Hinata-Chan?”
“Um, you see, I kind of got you this present for your birthday and I…I wanted you to have it.”
“Thanks Hinata, but you really didn’t have to do that. No one really remembers my birthday anymore. Heh, not even me. I forgot today was my birthday until you started to talk about it.”
That’s when Naruto saw the disappointed look in Hinata’s eyes and before Hinata could say anything, he quickly said: “But, if you want me to take it, I guess I could have it.”
Nice one, you brat.
Shut-up! It’s better then what you would do!
Kid, just take the present she’s going to give it to you in, oh, about 5 seconds, so hurry up and stop bickering with me.
Hmph, fine.
When Hinata pulled out the little package, she hurried and gave it to Naruto. Naruto took the package and asked Hinata if he could open it now. She said whenever you wanted to.
Slowly, Naruto began to tear off the paper on the box. When he got to the actual box – past the wrapping paper – he took off the lid, and what he saw AMAZED him. A medium sized dagger was in the box. The design was INCREDIBLE. It had a fox with a ball and star underneath both of his paws on the handle of the sword, while the blade of the sword looked like real silver.
Whoa. Who did this!?
Ask her and find out, smart one.
“Hinata-Chan, who made this dagger?”
“Uh, you see, well, my mission was to accompany a silver smith on his way to the Land of Spring. On the way he kept feeling bad because he hated having people guard or wait on him. He asked me if he could do anything to repay me after we had arrived in the Land of Spring. I asked him if he could cut out a dagger, for I had a friend that had a birthday coming up. He said it would be no trouble, the only thing I really did was create the design, and he did the rest.” (A/N: YAY! She didn’t stutter!)
“Hinata, thank – you.” And with those words he hugged her.
Of course this had to come to an end or Hinata might faint, so he held her 5 more seconds then asked her if he could accompany her home. She said yes.
With that the snow had stopped falling and two friends were walking home together in the cold.
Kind of a friendship fic. Just popped in my head and the italicized/bold words were that of the Nine Tails for people who didn’t know who that was.
I know most places don’t have snow in the beginning of October, but if you ever come to where I live there could already be a blizzard in the middle of September.
Review if you want, don’t if you don’t.
