Author’s Note: Okay, so basically… I came up with this poem today completely out of the blue. I was going to use it in a future chapter for “Breaking Point” (and still will) but I also wanted to post it as its own… thing. You know?

Anyway, my first Life With Derek poem. Actually, my first POEM in general.

Remember
Remember the time you first smiled at me
(until that moment, I’d never felt so free)
Remember the time we ran in the sand
(that was the day you let me hold your hand)
Remember the time we danced in the sun
(spinning in circles, and just having fun)
Remember the times we fooled around
(trying desperately not to make a sound)

Remember the time we first made love

(with the moon and stars all shining above)

Remember the times I made you laugh

(even though, in the end, we’ve both chosen a different path)

Lastly, remember the time you broke my heart in two

(but despite all that, know that I’ll always love you)

I have to say, I’m quite proud of it.

Anyways, basically… if you’ve read “Breaking Point”, I’m sure you can guess the pairing. However, if you haven’t… it’s basically Edwin’s tragic love poem (he WOULD write one and you know it) to Lizzie.

Ain’t his life just a bundle of angst?

Pity him.
