Brooke rummaged rapidly inside the purse in search of her vibrating phone, forgetting to check the caller ID once she found it, and picked up.

“Hello?”

“Hey, um, ?” the person rambled.

“Sam?” the blonde asked, checking the screen to see that it was indeed Sam calling her. “Slow down there, I didn’t catch a word you said.”

She heard a mumbled ‘damn it’ and then Sam’s voice trying to sound calm, “Um…I asked if you… wanted to come to the movies… with me tonight –” Why was Sam so nervous about this? It’s not like she was asking her out on a date… “– just the two of us.” …or was she?

“Sure,” a goofy grin slowly pulled at her lips, “It’s a date.”
