The pair finally arrived at school, with Travis scoffing down his chips while dropping some all over the place.

“Why didn't you just wait until later to eat them?” asked Nathan.

Travis quickly finished off the chips he had in his mouth and replied, “Couldn't wait.”

“Yeah, but now you only have about a minute to finish them off!” Travis only shrugged off his question as he went back to eat more chips. Nathan sighed and the two walked through the front door of the school.

The two were in the same class for roll call (AN: In Australia, we call the first 'class' roll call but I think in America you call it your home room. Correct me if I'm wrong.) which made things simpler. Although, Travis kept slowing Nathan down with his chips. Nathan turned towards him and asked, “Could you finish them off and hurry up?”

“I'm almost done,” said Travis. At least that's what he thought he said since his voice was muffled by the chips that filled half of his mouth.

“I swear, you're going to choke on those at one point,” said Nathan. Travis finally finished off the chips and threw the packet in the bin. When he did this, something caught his attention that was sitting on a seat right next to the bin. A drawing.

“Hey Nathan, come here!” beckoned Travis. Nathan started walking towards him while he picked up the drawing. The drawing was of a blue flute object, almost exactly like the one they found. “Doesn't this look like the flute you have?” Nathan opened his bag and pulled out the flute. He compared the instrument to the drawing. They were the same.

“Yeah!” replied Nathan, “Why is there a drawing of it here?” Travis observed the drawing closer. There was a name on the back of it.

“There's a name here,” said Travis.

“What's the name?”

“Jessica.”

“Is her last name written on it?” Travis checked the entire piece of paper and couldn't find it. He shook his head and Nathan replied, “There are a lot of Jessica's at this school. Maybe you should take it with you, just in case we find the Jessica that owns it.”

“Fine,” replied Travis as put carefully put the drawing in his bag, “We should go to roll call now, we're extremely late as it is.” Nathan simply nodded and the two walked off to class.

.:::.

Nathan spent the first two periods of the day at History and Maths while Travis spent the first two at English and Geography. Nothing much happened during the first two periods. Nathan didn't show anyone the flute and Travis almost got in trouble with the teacher for sleeping or, as Travis describes, 'resting his eyes'. The next period would be spent at PE (AN: Gym) together as they were in the same class for that subject.

A few minutes after the bell went to signal the start of the third period, Nathan and Travis ran into each other in the crowded hallways. They greeted each other but remained quiet throughout the rest of the journey to the change rooms at the hall. They got changed into their PE uniform and went into the hall to begin the lesson.

Two classes would be sharing the hall today so Nathan and Travis figured that the classes would be joined together or be versing each other during this lesson.

The teachers arrived and the classes gathered around their respective teachers. The teachers explained that the two classes would be versing each other, with Nathan and Travis silently saying 'knew it', for a game of Volleyball. Half of the classes groaned in frustration while the rest of the classes didn't really care. The classes stood up and waited at the walls while some of the students and the teachers set up the net. The classes then went to their sides and the ball was passed one of the teams. It was first to twenty. The game was on.

Nathan was at the back while Travis was at the front. The first team who was going to serve was the opposing team (the one Nathan and Travis weren't on). A person at the back served the ball and it flew over the net. Several people around Travis went for the ball and collided into each other. The ball was headed for Travis and he leapt to hit it. Only his hand didn't hit it. Instead, he had jumped too far forward and the ball came rebounding off his head and over the net. Travis was embarrassed at how clumsy this was and was sorry for almost costing his class a point, but remarkably the other class had failed to hit the ball back over the net and it landed on the ground. Travis had just scored his team a point, by accident.

The game pretty much continued like this. Both teams were fairly bad at volleyball since the 'athletes' of the classes didn't want to play volleyball and they slacked off and the people who did want to play weren't what you would call the 'sporty' type. Sometimes points were scored with actual skill while most of the time, points were scored by fluke.

Soon, the score was nineteen all. It was Nathan's turn to serve. Everyone was counting on him to make a good serve. The pressure was on. Nathan didn't like pressure. A lot of people don't. Nathan took a deep breath and hit the ball. It flew right over the net. Good, Nathan thought, now I just have to hope nobody hits it back over.

When the ball was at an altitude where someone could hit it, a black haired girl jumped towards the ball, spiking it over the net and towards Travis. Crap, he thought. The ball hit hit hard in the face and he fell to the ground, along with the ball. The other team scored and won the game. The girl who had caused the immense pain to Travis rushed over to his aid. “Sorry about that,” she apologised.

Travis put his hand to his face. Then immediately he pulled it off because it hurt. “Don't worry about it.”

“You sure?” she asked. Travis nodded slowly. “Okay, well my name's Jessica.”

Nathan heard her name and walked over to her and asked, “Jessica, did you by any chance lose a drawing?”

Jessica thought for a bit and replied, “Probably, I have this notebook that I draw a lot in and the pages are flimsy and fall out often. Why?”

“Hold on,” said Nathan as he walked to Travis' bag and pull out the drawing. He showed Jessica and asked, “Is this yours?”

“Yeah,” she said, “it looks like my style of drawing. Where did you find it?”

“In the hallway, but I need to ask you something about this drawing.”

“Okay, go ahead.”

Nathan pulled out his flute and asked, “How come you're drawing looks like this?”

Jessica was shocked when she saw the flute. “Where did you get that?” she asked as she snatched flute off of Nathan's hand.

Travis stood up and replied, “We found it in a tunnel over the weekend.”

Nathan cut in and asked, “Why do you know about it?”

“I'll tell you later. Maybe at lunch. But right now, I need to get to class. The bell went minutes ago!” Jessica got her bag and ran off. With Nathan's flute in her hand.

“Wait!” yelled Nathan. “Great. She stole my flute.” Nathan got his bag and headed to his fourth period class.

“Hello?” said Travis. “I'm still here!”
