Essence of Blood

He had met girls throughout his life but never had he met a woman as unique as her. Not only did she defy him in an erratic way but her blood held an essence that differed from everyone else. Her blood was special... her blood made her his.

“I need to take you back!”

Spinning around, I was shocked to find myself wearing a potato-sack like garment—and was even more shocked to find cobblestone pathways and not the living room I was in twenty seconds ago... so now the question remains as where the hell am I?

Whirling around, I was welcomed with an arm wrapping around my waist and hoisting me up. Ouff! I grunted as my body was thrown over a rather muscular shoulder...

My captor began running in a rather quick pace and when I finally realized that I was being kidnapped, I shrieked.

HELP MEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

“Sakura, shut up!” The voice was familiar...

Syaoran...

“HE HAS HER! HE HAS THE PRINCESS!”

My eyes widened as I saw gargoyles and ogres running after Syaoran, some were one legged and others... had more than two. Gnarled faces, unruly features, atrocious stenches—the list continued, but these things kept on chasing us without any show of stopping.

“What’s going on?” I whispered as I felt Syaoran jump onto something, jump again—kick off a wall and land on a roof.

“I’ll tell you soon...” He murmured and I decided not to comment. I kept watching, as I was thrown over his shoulder, the ogres and demons running towards us, some of them not showing any signs of getting tired and others faltering due to the length of the ongoing chase. My hands gripped the back of Syaoran’s garment as his run became bumpier (since he was jumping from roof to roof...)

“Almost there?” I whispered and I heard him chuckle.

“We’re here...”

And a flash of white enveloped me...

Unknown Date, 5:02pm

My burlap sack turned into a white summer dress and my surroundings had morphed into a beautiful field of unknown flowers, unlimited fruit and an abundance of cute little animals—My eyes were wide as I saw the sun shining brightly over the cascading hills of green...

“Where are we?” I whispered as I felt a strong arm fall onto my shoulder...

“Eden.”

Glancing back, I studied Syaoran standing behind me—studied him studying me. “Eden?” I whispered, not tearing my gaze away from the man dressed in amazing knightly couture. I turned around and studied my surroundings once again—rolling hills, animals, trees... and high atop a glowing hill was a beautifully sparkling, massive and surreal, fruit tree...

“Is that...”

I heard Syaoran shift slightly until I could feel his body heat radiate and envelope me. “That’s it... temptation...”

Looking between Syaoran and the fruit tree, my mind reeled with the many lessons I learned as a child... the story of Adam and Eve, of creation... of temptation, betrayal, and desolation. How Eve had plucked the fruit from the tree and ate it, despite the forewarnings of God, Himself... of how she offered the fruit to Adam...

Of how they were kicked out of Eden for not following the word of God and of how they were punished with the conscience of Shame.

“I don’t understand...” I murmured. “You are you, and I am myself—and we’re in Eden but...”

“But what?”

“What about Adam and Eve?”

Syaoran rumbled in laughter. “Ying Fa,” his pronunciation of my name was a beautiful melody that resonated through my soul, “all of what you are witnessing has already happened millennia’s ago... however the occurrence of all this is way past Adam and Eve’s time.”

“Then how am I in Eden?”

Syaoran’s eyes were twinkling and I turned to face him completely. “You say that I am your long lost lover, that the blood of God flows through my veins—but why? Who am I? Why was I picked for all this?”

I searched Syaoran’s eyes, trying to find an answer—I waited for him to give me his response and finally, he did begin to speak:

“God knew of a danger that was coming his way... he knew of Satan, of Lucifer trying to attain all of Heaven, Earth and Hell, and because of that God wanted to keep his blood safe. So he passed on a drop of his blood to his best creation—you.” Syaoran’s words hit me like a bag of rocks. Sure I knew that I always had the blood of God running through me and all, but never did I really knew why I was who I was...

“And you are...?”

Syaoran smirked, the muscles in his lips twitching into a sexy contour of a smile. “I was created to protect you, to hold the most valuable thing in the entire world in my hands and keep her away from the dangers that threatened the world... to hold her heart in my hands and cherish it, as it is the most precious gift of all time... that is my job, mi’lady...”

I gulped. Syaoran took a step towards me and I did nothing but move—

“And between keeping you safe and running you through Earth, I fell in love with your flawless beauty and perfection... God had passed his blood on in case something had ever happened to the hierarchy of the divinity, the Universe could still continue in harmony.” Syaoran took another step towards me and I didn’t move, yet again. “However, Lucifer found out of this little blood passing ritual and now He is out to destroy you, along with me and the hierarchy of Heaven, Earth and Hell.”

I frowned. “And so I died, and was reincarnated as—well, me?”

Syaoran snickered. “Well, yes that is true. You were reincarnated, our child was reincarnated – a whole lot of us were, but I hadn’t died so I continued to live on, waiting for your rebirth.”

“So you waited millions and millions of years?”

Syaoran smiled. “Well, you were reborn a couple times throughout the years—precisely six times. This is your seventh birth.”

Confusion washed through me, seven times? “And if this is my seventh birth, how come you haven’t done anything since my—I don’t know, second birth.”

Syaoran had a dark look cross his eyes. “Your first birth was a fluke—you died two hours after your birth because the unholy energies that had killed you still resonated through your being. Your second birth was to that of a blacksmith and a midwife—across the world. I was still trying to figure out how to work out everything and God was royally pissed off at me and I was still getting over my little fight with Satan at the time of your death...”

I nodded as Syaoran clenched his fist. “Can we discuss your many births some other time?”

I sighed. “Okay—fine... so why are we here?”

“Because you wanted to know the purpose behind our history, the Essence of your Blood. So, my mother had asked me to astral project us to our past where you can relive everything—till the point of your death—to understand the situation we are in.”

“And how long are we in here for?”

Syaoran smirked. “For as long as it takes for history to repeat itself...”

July 10th, 2008 – 2:17am

“She’s adorable!” Tomoyo squealed as she cuddled her goddaughter. Syaoran and Sakura had returned from the hospital the very day with their daughter—three day old Tamara Méi YŭLi. “She looks just like you, Sakura!”

Sakura laughed as Syaoran wrapped his arm around his wife’s waist. Three weeks after the Demon had injured him months ago, he had healed perfectly fine—do to an intricate ritual that his wife had preformed, a ritual that could’ve killed both her and their unborn child at the time. Because she had God’s essence flowing through her, she had to use the Blood Fusion technique—something she had learned years ago, while she and Syaoran were in their past—back in 2001.

“That’s why she’s so adorable,” Sakura teased and Syaoran laughed. The entire group of friends and family were gathered in the living room—including Fanran and Chiharu.

“But doesn’t this pose as a problem?” Fanran spoke up, her voice a beautiful melody—something all the Li siblings had in common. “With Tamara in the picture—Satan has more to come after than just you and Sakura.”

Syaoran sighed sombrely. “Yeah, I know, remind me next time to use a condom.”

“Hey! Shut up! Not in front of Tamara!” Sakura whacked Syaoran’s chest and Eriol’s eye brow twitched (simultaneously to Syaoran, of course).

“The girl doesn’t understand anything we’re saying. How the hell is she supposed to know what a condom is?!”

Sakura glared at Eriol. “Because, she’s Syaoran’s daughter... isn’t that enough?”

“Excuse me?!”

Sakura grinned up at Syaoran and patted his chest. “I love you too, honey.”

Fanran seemed to be the only one out of the group to not share the joy of the newborn Li...

How can they be so happy? She asked herself, While Satan and Akuma are still out there—waiting to get Sakura and Syaoran... and now, Tamara...
