Chapter One: Blast From The Past

The air was damp, but it wasn't raining just yet. The town was quiet, asleep; for the most part. There was a light on in a small pawn shop in the middle of downtown, the simple sign glowing brightly against the other buildings around it. A shadowy figure stood on the opposite side of the street, eyes searching the inside of the building.

Inside, two cousins stood to the side and watched as some negotiating was being done.

"Come on, Kevin, can't you finish this up?" Gwen asked, putting her hands on her hips.

"Why don't you two wait in the car if you're gunna keep askin'," Kevin replied, looking over his shoulder at her.

"Fine," Gwen snapped. "Come on, Ben."

The two Tennyson's walked from the back of the store to the regular pawn shop front. Nearly half of the building was being used as a storage and shop for alien tech. Once in the front by the door, Ben noticed the hood up on Kevin's car and someone leaning under it.

"Hey! What're you doing?" Gwen asked as a mana-disk formed in her hand and she and Ben rushed outside.

"Trying to find what's making the car sputter," a female voice replied. "It has been stputtering, right?" A girl stood up, slapping her hands together to try to get the grease off of them. She looked older than Gwen and Ben, more like Kevin's sixteen to their fifteen. She had black hair cropped short, tight black clothes, big boots and several piercings on her ears and a stud in her nose.

"Have you been following us?" Ben questiond, his hand ready to hit the Omnitrix.

"Mhm," the girl replied, crossing her arms. Gwen noticed that the girl slightly resembed Kevin when it came to both looks and attitude. "You have a Plumber's badge somewhere," she paused to pull one of her own out of her pocket, "which is easy to trace."

Ben dropped his hands to his sides and Gwen's mana-disk faded. "Are you a Plumber's kid?" Ben asked.

The girl shrugged. "Sure. I mean I've got me some powers," she replied with yet another shrug.

The three of them didn't hear Kevin walk outside, until he spoke. "Kara?" He stopped short after seeing the girl.
