A/N: Written for faramirlover, because she wanted a kakairu. If anyone wants anything, let me know, cos lord knows I'm stuck for ideas right now. Enjoy!

Hatake Kakashi was the kind of person who had more animal in him then human. Sure, he was incredibly cool, logical, and smart, and yes, he was one of the most free-thinking and pure-hearted people living in Konoha, but he still had a ferocious streak running through him that was definitely somewhat primal- something animal. A personality something like the nature of the dogs he worked so very well with.

And Umino Iruka happened to think that this resident streak in his usually cold and composed boyfriend was thoroughly thrilling.

It was apparent in the way Kakashi was unyieldingly, unflinchingly loyal- just like a dog, so true to what he believed in. It showed in the way he was willing to give his life to Konoha, it showed when he’d walk alongside Iruka in the busy streets of their village, only having eyes for the chunin next to him, disregarding anything and anyone else. The school-teacher was always slightly fearful that one day, Kakashi would wake up and wonder what he was doing with someone unimportant like Iruka- but when Kakashi would turn those burning mismatched eyes onto him, listening, following, trusting completely in Iruka, then it was always so very clear to see that Kakashi’s loyalty lay completely with Iruka.

Like a dog, Kakashi was loyal.

The animal in the jonin would also come to the surface whenever Kakashi felt that his…territory was being threatened- when someone made a lewd pass at Iruka, occasionally accompanied by a grope, the copy-nin would snarl angrily and wind his arm tightly, possessively around the brown-haired mans waist, glaring at anyone who dared to look at him. Kakashi would then take Iruka to the nearest possible deserted place, and proceed to kiss him furiously, burning his own taste into the others mouth- just to remind both of them just whom Iruka belonged to. (As though the chunin needed reminding.) Truth be told, though, the teacher didn’t mind, because it was just another odd quirk of Kakashi’s, just another weird behaviour pattern his boyfriend owned.

Like a wolf, Kakashi was possessive.

Iruka loved how fierce Kakashi could be. Usually, the man was perfectly unruffled, but around the chunin, the man would loosen up more, become more…intense. The jonin would put his everything into their relationship- loving with everything he had, protecting Iruka from everything that he could, and Iruka could safely vouch that no-one could ever love him, take care of him as well as Kakashi did. It was amusing, though, to see how infront of others the jonin would become the feared copy-nin once more, treating everyone with the same polite disdain, as though they weren’t worth his time, with that usual dead glint in his eye. But then he’d look over at Iruka, and those same eyes would shine with devotion and worship, sparking with an unmanageable fire that sent shivers dancing across Iruka’s spine.

Like a lion, Kakashi was fierce.

Kakashi would often gather Iruka into his arms, content to just gaze at the chunin as they passed their free hours away. At first, it had been odd to Iruka, but now, he enjoyed their little silent bonding sessions, them just cuddled together- Iruka with his eyes closed as Kakashi gently stroked through his hair, and Kakashi memorising and studying Iruka with his eyes. The unspoken words between them would hang in there air- “I love you”, and for both of them, it was a powerful feeling, knowing that you could show your loved one your devotion without a single word. Kakashi especially, never good with expressing his emotions, appreciated that he could let Iruka know and that Iruka understood.

Like a human, Kakashi loved.

A/N: I'd love to know what you guys thought, reviews really do help alot and provide lots of inspiration! (Plus, no-one likes a freeloader! :P) Thank you!!
