“At the time, Shangrilah was a calm peaceful paradise., Humans and yokai lived in peace for a great length of time. Then came the arrival of Gyomah-oh. Following his rise to power, Shangrilah soon became an image of hell. Out of the ashes though, one hero rose up to fight the yokai king. Nataku alone had the power to seal Gyomah-oh in that cursed castle, never again to pursue his reign of Terror.

It has been many years since the yokai kings rule, and Shangrilah once more has become the image of the past many have longed to see. Alas it was not meant to be. Someone or something is attempting to remove the seal on Gyomah-oh. A minus wave has been created in it's wake, spreading through out the whole of Shangrilah. The taboo of combining yokai magic with human sciences is to blame. The wave has been turning yokai into blood thirsty monsters.

Yet, amongst the death and despair, a ray of hope has appeared. A four man group known as the Sanzo party was been journeying west to stop the revival. I pray that they arrive in time.” A young girl with purple, braided, mid-back length hair, green eyes, a red mark around her right eye, and long pointed ears wrote the details of the events in a small worn down journal. She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear to reveal to claw shaped scars on her cheek.

Unfortunately, being the daughter of Lord Kougaiji, son of Gyomah-Oh, meant that she was related to the monstrosity tearing their world apart. As she wrote someone knocked on her door. Stashing the journal, she made her way to the door, “Coming!” When she opened the door, a very irritated man stood there, “Your late again, Suki.” “Dokugakuji sensei! I'm sorry! I forgot!” she said grabbing her sword. He lead her to the courtyard where her mother, Yaone was tending to her herbs and such. The two stood across from each other, their sword drawn, “Okay Suki. No holding back this time.”

Suki nodded, “Got it.” After bowing to each other the two began their daily spar. Her mother glanced nervously at the two as they fought, “For a father. Kougaiji is far to hard on her.” While their sparring continued, inside things were heating up. Lady Gyokumen Koushu had requested with Kougaiji regarding the Sanzo Party. The two stood in a large room where an array of medical gear had been set up and a large yokai lay in a hospital bed, paralyzed. “Kougaiji dear, I need you to eliminate the Sanzo Party for me and retrieve the Maten Scripture from Genjyo Sanzo.” The red headed yokai nodded, “Yes Lady Koushu.”

“Please call me mom, it's what your father would've wanted,” she said with a dry chuckle. Before she could speak another word, Kougaiji stormed out of the room. He stopped in front of a statue of a yokai woman. Her face showed intense pain and suffering. Kougaiji stroked the statues face, “She could never replace you mother. . . I will eliminate the Sanzo Party. . . But not for her, for you mother.”

With that he went to find Yaone and the others.

After about an hour, Suki fell to her knees, breathing hard. Her sword lay on the ground and she looked at her sensei, “Doku-Sensei, I can't fight anymore. I need a break.” He smiled kindly and helped her up, “no problem. You did great.” Yaone walked over and placed a hand on her shoulder, “You did well, your father'll be proud.” As if on cue, Kougaiji entered the courtyard, “Yaone, Dokugakuji, we're leaving.” The three stared in confusion and Dokugakuji spoke up, “Why Kou?” He glanced at his daughter then looked at the dark haired man, “To stop the Sanzo Party.”

The news made Suki grow cold. She had hoped that they had just been over looked so that Lady Koushu could be stopped. Alas her hopes were shattered. Yaone nodded, “When do we leave?” “Tomorrow morning,” he replied before leaving. Suki watched him leave and hurried to her room. Dokugakuji groaned, “Does he pay ANY attention to her!?” Yaone only shook her head sadly and went to pack.

As Suki wandered the dark corridors, she ran into Ni-Jin-Yi. He was a doctor that was helping Lady Koushu with the revival attempts. He had square glasses, behind which two dark piercing eyes resided, his skin was pale and his hair was kind of messy. Shuddering, Suki tried to walk by and ignore him. He grabbed her arm as she walked by, “Don't forget. . .you have your treatment session today.”

Under Yaone's request, Suki was receiving special treatments that kept her safe from the minus wave. She pulled her arm away from Ni-Jin-Yi and looked him in the eye, “I won't.” He chuckled fiendishly, “If you keep skipping the treatments, you'll only make it harder on yourself.” Suki nodded and quickly went down the hall to her room. Like the other yokai in Shangrilah, she was on the verge of losing herself. Her mother, father, and sensei were almost the only ones not affected by the minus wave.

After a while, Suki finally made her way down to Ni-Jin-Yi's lab to receive her treatment. Inside the dark room were many tables holding an assortment of junk. The doctor sat at a computer, a lit cigarette hung between his lips as he typed feverishly. On his lap was a stuffed rabbit, “Your late.” Suki nodded, “I apologize. Now let's get this over with.” His laugh echoed throughout the room, sending chills down her spine, “That a girl. Have a seat.”

As she sat down on a small cot, he walked over holding a clear vial of blood red liquid, a syringe, and a folder with her name on it, “Just hold still.” She held her arm out as he got the injection ready and took notes on her heart rate and such. As he injected the serum into her arm, she felt a strange twinge of pain ripple through her body. He chuckled, “It hurts that much? Too bad, seems that the wave is taking a quicker effect than we thought.” After her treatment Suki made her way towards the courtyard once more.

The sun had just set, turning the sky a deep violet color. Right then and there she made a decision. She was going to find the Sanzo Party and stop her father from killing them. She grabbed her sword which had been left in the courtyard, and cast a final glance at the castle, “Good bye.” With that she began sprinting into the night. Yaone decided to visit Suki and went to her room, “Suki? You awake?” She opened the door and gasped, “Suki!?” She ran down the hall to Kougaiji's room, “Kou! Suki's gone!” Kougaiji looked in the eye, “Your sure!?” After searching the castle, Kougaiji and the others left to follow her trail.
