She was blessed. That is the only word that she could find to describe her life. She and Booth had finally told each other how they feel and had dated for several months before getting married. Booth’s son Parker had accepted her as his stepmother. And a couple of months later they found out that they were expecting their first child together. She had the perfect pregnancy and delivered their son Benjamin Michael Booth. A few years after his birth they welcomed their daughter Teagan Rose Booth into the world and now here she was sitting in bed holding the newest addition to their family, Mercer Elizabeth Booth. She had never wanted children before, yet here she was a mother of 4 wonderful children. She smiled down at her daughter and looked at the clock; it would only be a few more minutes before Booth showed up with the kids. Soon after thinking this, she could hear their voices echoing in the hallway, their voices grew closer until they were at the door.
“Now kids.” She could hear Booth saying. “Remember you need to be quite or else you’ll wake the baby up.”
“Okay.” Three voices echoed back at him.
The door opened and all four people piled into the room.
“How are you feeling Bones?” Booth asked giving his wife and baby a kiss.
“I’m doing well. Were the kids good for you this morning?”
“Of course they were.” He said. Then he looked over at the kids who were just standing there. “Come on guys. Come say hi to your sister.”
The kids all walked over to their mother and sat on the bed staring at their new sister.
“What’s her name Bones?” Parker asked.
“It’s Mercer.” Bones answered. “Do you want to hold her?”
“Yeah.” He said.
She handed the baby over to him and watched him play with her fingers. Parker was the oldest out of his siblings and was very mature for a 12 year old. Ben, who was 8, idolized his older brother and could constantly be found doing the same things and acting the same way as Parker. Then there was Teagan, the very demanding and controlling 4 year old. She pretty much ruled the house and her brothers just went along with it. Bones smiled to herself as she saw her children staring and talking to their new sister. She looked up at Booth and saw him staring at her with a smile plastered to his face. A smile that said it all, thank you for being here, thank you for loving me, and this is our family. And not for the first time in her life, she really felt blessed.
