I Just Want To Be Mad For Awhile
(SasuSaku)Sasuke had really done it now. He’d gotten into an argument with his wife and the mother of his 2 year old daughter, Uchiha Mikoto. He’d woken up this morning to an empty bed. Instead of his wife’s pink haired head, there was a note.
“Last night we went to bed not talking, because we'd already said too much. I faced the wall, you faced the window. We were bound and determined not to touch. We've been married a few years now, although sometimes it feels like 21. I'm still mad at you this morning, but coffee's ready if you want some. I've been up since five, thinking about me and you. I've got to tell you the conclusion I've come to: I'll never leave, I'll never stray. My love for you will never I’m not ready to make up. We'll get around to that.
I think I'm right, I think you're wrong. I'll probably give in before long.
But for once do as I say-”
Sasuke sighed. He was wrapped around her finger and she knew it.
“Please don't make me smile. I just wanna be mad for a while.
Love, Uchiha Sakura.”
Sasuke sighed and got out of bed. In just his boxers he strolled down to his daughter’s room. She was up and whining to be let out of her crib. He complied wih he wishes and carried her to the kitchen.
“Where’s your mom?” he asked, setting her on his hip to get the proper utensils need for feeding a toddler.
The picture he presented was far from the blood-thirsty traitor who’d left his now wife alone in the middle of the night on a stone bench. It was far from the man who was one of the top ANBU members. Far from the killer that he was perceived as outside the walls of Konoha.
“Daddy! Thirsty,” said Mikoto. Sasuke sighed and grabbed a sippy cup full of apple juice and carried his pride and joy over to the dining room table, where he set her in her high chair.
“Cereal sound good?” he asked. Mikoto nodded her little head full of pink curls. Her onyx eyes were crinkled in happiness as she finished her apple juice just in time for a little bowl of Cheerios and milk to be set in front of her and a spoon to be placed into her hand.
Sasuke smirked and sat down to read the newspaper. He was about to turnt he page when Sakura walked in carrying bags of groceries.
“Oh. You got her up. Good,” Sakura said going into the kitchen.
Sasuke sighed. He stood up, making a face at his daughter. In the kitchen Sakura was placing vegetables in the crisper in the fridge. Sasuke walked up behind her and lightly touched her back.
“I’m sorry,” he mumbled against the nape of her neck. Sakura sighed and turned around.
She moved out of his touch, his fingers being pulled out of her locks.
“You might as well forget it. Don't run your fingers through my hair,” she said.
“You’re being stubborn, Sakura,” Sasuke said, leaning against the counter and crossing his arms over his chest.
“Yeah, that's right, I'm being stubborn,” Sakura fired back.
“I’ve apologized. Now I want to go upstaris with my wife,” Sasuke said.
“ I don't want to go back upstairs. I'm gonna leave for work without a goodbye kiss,” Sakura said moving to where Mikoto was sitting watching them with curiosity. Sakura leaned down and lifted her daughter out of the high chair. She kissed her on the head before setting her down.
“But as I'm driving off, just remember that I'll never leave, I'll never stray. My love for you will never change. But I’m not ready to make up. I think I'm right, and I think you’re wrong,” Sakura finished as she grabbed her bag and keys.
Sasuke sighed. He guessed he’d have to let her be mad for awhile.
