Project: Cloverfield

Music ranging from pop to rock blared from the stereo system in the apartment, motivating the young men and women there to dance, drink, and have fun. The hostess of the party greeted everyone at the party, making sure everyone had a drink and was having a good time.

Sitting at the bar alone, Adam took a few sips of his beer. Giving a few sighs and greetings to people he didn’t know or want to know, Adam continued to stay where he was. He didn’t even know why he came. Probably just to see Rob, his childhood friend for the last time for a long time. Suddenly, a camera was run into his chest. Hud, who was Rob’s best friend, held the camera and started filming Adam.

“Hey, man, I’m documenting how everyone feels about Rob or any of their comments on his farewell. Anything you wanna say?” Hud asked.

“Well, first, get that camera away from my face,” Adam ordered. Once it was done, Adam looked straight at the camera. “Uh… Rob, man, haven’t seen you since… well… last time… Well, it’s really great that you got that position, and have fun in—Hud? Hud!” Adam yelled as the camera drifted away from him and to Hud’s crush, Marlena, who was walking across the room. Hud then moved away, going to approach Marlena but chickened out, to interview someone else.

Roaming from person to person, Hud finally came to a cute blonde name Ashley, who was already half-way drunk and smelt of beer.

“…so anything you want to say to Rob?” Hud asked.

“Aw… well… Rob… umm, you’re the man… with the plan…” she responded. The camera then went from her face to her chest. “Hey, jerk off, my face is right here!” Ashley said as she slugged Hud in the stomach, making him lose his breath and cut off the camera.

“Hey, Ash, don’t get too drunk like you did at Taylor’s birthday last year, or he’s gonna kill me,” said a man sitting next to her.

“Whatevvvvverrr, Austin…” Ashley slurred, starting on her fifth beer.

About an hour later, Adam noticed a woman that was attractive to him walk through the door. “Wow…” was all Adam was able to say. Suddenly, Lily, Rob’s girlfriend’s best friend, came up to Adam.

“Don’t you think about doing anything to her, Adam. She’s just here to say ‘hi’ and leave,” Lily informed.

“Alright, alright, I won’t try to get to know her…” Adam replied as Lily walked away. As soon as she was gone, and finally completed his statement with, “much.”

“Heard that!” yelled Lily as she walked back with another woman. “This is Yvette ‘Ice.’”

“Ice?” Adam asked.

“Yeah, she got so drunk this one time, Jason and I had to throw her into a tub of ice to wake her up.”

“That’s nice to know…”
