My first Death Note fic. I really hope this goes over good. The poem is one I wrote, I did not steal it from anyone and I hope no one will use it without my consent. (and I do technically have a copyright on this poem, so it would be very illegal to use it without my consent)
I do not own Death Note, L, or Light. (Sure wish I did though)
Death Kiss
I can taste
The kisses between them were harsh, rough, and hurried. They were, afterall, stolen secrets in a darkened room. Every languid touch by Light made L’s Skin burn.
My own
As ridiculous as it sounded, even inside his own head, their bodies fit together perfectly. L didn’t know much about love, but it didn’t seem like the kind of stuff written about in books. Light had looked at him as if he had just said the moon was made of cheese when he voiced that opinion.
“Since when do you base anything off of baseless fantasy?” Light had asked, laughing softly.
L simply replied, “Never,” And they left it at that. So, L thought, that maybe their love was a special kind, more based around intellectual need that actual human desire. So, why did he crave Light’s touch?
Death
“L, what’s wrong?”
L looked over at the teen, who was observing him with worry and confusion.
“It’s nothing, Light, I was just thinking.”
L averted his gaze again. Light’s eyes, that he had once seen filled with the malice and rage of Kira, were now so filled with a kind of innocence and need for justice, that L could not bear to look into them, for everytime he did he felt guilty; those hazel eyes reminded him that he was the one who has stolen Light’s “innocence”.
In your
Light gently stroked L’s hair, sensing that the raven-haired man didn’t want to talk anymore. L winced when he heard the chain that connected them rattle; that chain was just one of many things L was starting to regret.
“Light, please stop.”
L was getting sick of listening to the chain rattle. Light retracted his hand, hurt. He had only been trying to pacify the detective.
Bitter, sweet kisses
Light decided to wrap an arm around L’s waist, wanting physical contact. When L didn’t pull away, the auburn-haired teen was encouraged, and he tightened his hold on L, pressing his chest flush against L’s back. Light loved how L smelled, like sugar and vanilla, even though he didn’t actually like sweets. And when they kissed, Light swore L tasted like straberries and chocolate.
“Why do you like touching me, Light?”
Light laughed at L’s question.
“I really don’t know. Maybe...”
Light nuzzled L’s neck, enjoying his body heat.
“Maybe I’m afraid if I let you go, you’ll disappear and I’ll never be able to hold you again.”
I can hear
L rolled over, so that he was facing Light.
“I am not going anywhere.”
Light smiled softly, a smile that made L feel warm, especially his cheeks.
“I’m glad you say that. I love you.”
L’s blush grew.
“I... care for Light, too...”
Light’s smile brightened and he kissed the raven-haired detective.
Silver bells
“There is no need to express such things.”
L held up the chain that bound them.
“I cannot go far from Light with this.”
Light’s smile faded.
“But what about when we no longer have this chain? Will I still be able to hold you close, so I know you’ll never disappear?”
L seemed surprised by this question.
“Yes, of course, if Light really wants that. Promise me one thing though?”
Now it was Light’s turn to be surprised.
“Of course, what is it?”
L looked into Light’s eyes. Despite how guilty they made him feel, he liked them. L would always rather look into the hazel eyes of Light, his lover, than into the red eyes of Kira, his enemy. It was hard to believe they were the same person.
Ringing
“When I die, I want to be in Light’s arms.”
Light didn’t say anything, but he nodded.
“But, you won’t be dying anytime soon, right?”
“If Kira is to be believed, then yes, I will.”
Light reached for L’s hand, intertwining their fingers, seeking comfort. L slightly squeezed Light’s hand, unable to offer any other comfort.
“I don’t want you to die.”
Singing of
Light’s hazel eyes were shinging with barely held back tears.
“I know Light. I believe you.”
L squeezed Light’s hand again, allowing the auburn-haired teen to kiss him and bury his face in his chest. This was the only comfort he could give Light, knowing the teen was Kira.
My foretold demise
“L? L! Please, open your eyes L!”
“Light, maybe it would be best if you weren’t here right now.”
Light heeded his fathers words, letting go of the rapidly growing cold body of L, and standing, heading to the door. He looked back, once, and shed one true tear. Light had upheld his promise to L, the detective dying in his arms; and with L, Light and his love, and any kindness in his heart, had died also, leaving only Kira and his dark desires
