A Very Mighty Christmas

Mighty the Armadillo glanced out the window of his hut. He wondered just how oftened it snowed in her village. Of course, the monkey village was exclusive to monkeys of all types only like chimps and gorillas. Being a traveller, Mighty was intrigued by their tree huts and rather quaint social structure of people just climbing into houses through windows using their strong, flexible tails.
He glanced over his shoulder, watching as a light snow began to accumulate on the ground. Smiling lightly, he glanced to the door and was immediately glomped to the floor by a tiny monkey boy named Hikoro. He giggled wickedly as Mighty pryed the small mammal off.
"Hey, guess what what what!?" Hikoro shrieked; Mighty covered his ears.
"What, little guy?" Mighty asked with a forced grin. He began to wonder if his ears were bleeding.
"This..." Hikoro pointed back to the door fearfully, revealing his older sister Aikara in a Santa Claus outfit. "I think she's lost it."
Aikara the Monkey smirked as she twirled around in her Santa uniform. "Hey, quiet brat! You're just jealous since I was given this as a present last year while you got tube socks."
"Rip off! Rip off I say!" Hikoro shouted to the heavens.
Mighty chuckled, covering his mouth politely. "Why are you dressed up like Saint Nick, Aikara?"
"Since it's the holidays, silly!" Aikara jeered, pumping her fist into the air. "Santa's coming tomorrow. After all, today's Christmas Eve's."
Mighty paused. He completely forgotten, which also meant one thing: He forgot to buy a present for Aikara. The armadillo mentally punched himself in the face while giving a nervous chuckle. Bluntly ignoring Hikoro's whining, he dashed out the door and into the streets. Aikara stared at the dust that had picked up from his sudden rush, blinking in confusion.
"Wow, he really must be late for his dentist appointment," Aikara muttered, scratching her temple.
"Or maybe he's having the runs like Sonic when he had too many chili dogs!" Hikoro suggested with a shrug of his shoulder.
Aikara groaned at her brother's childish mannerisms while he just giggled boyishly. "I really question your sanity sometimes."
Back with our favorite armadillo, he was rampantly charging the small village like a hailstorm combined in a tornado. All of his travelling led him to the monkey village. His parents weren't alive, and he left the Chaotix for travel. Aikara found him when he was nearly starved to death in a rare snowstorm covered in snow and small bits of hail and dirt. She was kind enough to allow him to stay with her and her brother while her parents were away on business. Mighty wanted to re-pay her, but wasn't exactly sure how. The armadillo scratched his ear, coming close to a small shop. A glint of light grasped his attention, and he smirked to himself.
Hints of snow began to fall down rather hard on his house, making Hikoro wonder if Santa Claus was going to be alright. Every time he asked his older sister, the acrobatic monkey would always just agree with a grunt. Aikara repeatedly glanced out the window, recalling the time she first encountered the superstrong armadillo.
A few weeks ago, Aikara had just finished running an errand for the leaders of the village. With a bag of coffee beans in hand, she wondered just how much coffee the ape leaders consumed every day since they were always ever-so hyper. Aikara suddenly stumbled, falling flat onto her face.
"Hey, what's the big idea ya lousy-?" She gasped in horror, finding Mighty shriveled up with snow covering his parched lips and groaning stomach. Aghast, she dropped the coffee beans and kneeled over the starving man.
Mighty's light blue eyes flashed open, and he managed to give a quirky smile. "Am I in Heaven?" he asked weakly through a tiny voice.
"Not even close, you're nearing my village of monkeys," Aikara replied, helping Mighty. "I'm Aikara the Monkey, and yourself?"
"Starving, but my name's Mighty the Armadillo," Mighty sniggered lightly. Suddenly his eyelids grew heavy, and he tumbled forward into Aikara's arms. "My...my apologies, Miss Aikara, I-I've b-been feeling a little...f-f-faint..." Just as the word "faint" leaves his mouth, Mighty literally lost consiousness in her arms.
Aikara, appearing completely surprised, leaped high into the air with Mighty in her arms. Making a mad dash back to the village, she rushed to her home. Silently praying to make it on time, she charged through her home and into the kitchen.
Startled, Hikoro shouted, "Yo, sis! Who's that? Another imaginary boyfriend that somehow came to life?" A lattle was thrown at his head. "What'd I say?!"
Aikara retrieved a platter of cookies from the cupboard after throwing Mighty's limp body into a chair. The aroma of chocolate filtered the air, and Mighty's nose twitched. Aikara blinked, and in a second, all of the cookies vanished into Mighty's mouth.
"Um, thank you," Mighty graciously said after scarfing the cookies down. He downed a glass of water Aikara gave him. "I haven't had anything to eat since...I don't know!"
"Oh, you're welcome," Aikara giggled, patting his head. "Where do you come from?"
"Originally, I came from Angel Island with a detective angecy known as the Chaotix, but I got bored and decided to travel. I traveled to Babylon Garden, Mobotropolis, everywhere. You name it," Mighty pridefully replied, pounding lightly onto his chest.
"But you've probably never been to the Village of Monkeys, right?" Aikara coyfully asked with a smirk.
"Uh...that would be a no."
The two of them burst into laughter. Hikoro poked his head in through the door. For once, he didn't retort or interrupt, noticing a barely noticeable blush creep onto her muzzle. He removed himself as they began to chat about their past experiences, and a large grin appeared on his face.
Aikara allowed Mighty to stay with them for the longest time: a period of six and half months. Mighty wanted to get her something special for all of her efforts for him. He entered a quaint store filled with humble items, and he exhaled a breath of relief.
---
Aikara glanced outside, wondering why Mighty had just darted right outside like that. Night fell for a few hours, and Mighty hadn't returned home. Hikoro was fast asleep, waiting for Santa's arrival. She was dressed in a blue night shirt with matching pants and slippers. Sighing, she hopped the entire staircase with her excelled jumping prowess and retreated to her room.
"Where are you?" she mumbled as she rested herself in bed.
---
Next morning came too quick for Aikara as her brother began to scream that Santa came. Covering her sensitive ears, Aikara suddenly realized what Hikoro was shouting about and instantly joined him in the frivilous shrieking. However, Mighty was not present.
Aikara recieved several gifts such as games, clothes, stuff that she would normally like. Hikoro, once again, recieved tube socks. The boy monkey pouted until he shredded open his new BMX bike, courtesy of Mighty, and decided to go for a spin. Which resulted into nearly crashing into at least twenty people's homes, and he almost hit an elderly chimp.
Aikara sighed at her brother's actions before feeling something wrap around her neck. There was a beautiful emerald locket with a ruby jewel inside connected to a silver clasp. Gently, she touched it in utter shock.
"Merry Christmas."
She turned around to find Mighty in her Santa Claus outfit, and there was even a pillow under his stomach so he could imitate the weight of Mr. Claus. Aikara gawked, completely shocked. Mighty grinned, poking at his stomach.
"Don't I get a hug?" Mighty asked, arms opened wide.
Aikara suddenly glomped him to the ground. The pillow flew out on contact as they collided to the ground. Mighty winced as Aikara thanked him nearly...I dunno, forty times? Maybe even more.
"Thanks so much, Mighty!" Aikara jeered for the...one hundred eighty-fourth time, and it was last time. "But why'd you get this for me?"
"As thanks," Mighty replied nonchalantly with a smirk. "You let me stay with a cutie like yourself, and I never really properly thanked you. So, please accept it."
"Oh, thank you, Mighty," Aikara whispered, snuggling against his chest.

Somewhere in Hell, Cesare the Crow was watching this occur via his little dark creatures. "Dude, just suck it up and kiss her already. Jeez..." Cesare groaned, rubbing his temple in annoyance.
Rodrigo nodded in agreement. "Seriously," Rodrigo stated, crossing his arms.
"Why are you still here?" Cesare asked, glancing up to his father in annoyance. "Go get me some beer, or I'll expose all of those little nights you spent with Nachine on the internet with those High School Musical backgrounds you keep stashed in Tagio's room."
Rodrigo's violet eyes widened, and he instantly dashed for the beer container.
"It's so nice having blackmail," Cesare muttered
---
Aikara leaped off of him, dashing back towards their Christmas tree. The fake tree was decorated with lights and fleece from previously years. Aikara pulled out a small package that was wrapped with black and red sheets.
"For me?" Mighty asked, taking the box. When Aikara nodded, he tore the wrappings off with the top at the same time. Feeling around, he found a pair of grey fingerless gloves with a black line around the wrist area and a red jewel sticking on top. "They're incredible," he whispered, touching the jewel softly.
"Got'em off Ebay for a quick five bucks each!" Aikara cheered, showing off an exact same pair.
Mighty blushed once more as he gingerly placed the gloves on. They felt perfectly natural, clean in a sort of way like the crisp, new snow on the ground. Aikara smiled, hugging him.
"Merry Christmas, Mighty man," she whispered, nuzzling her head against his chest.
"Yeah, Merry Christmas Aikara," Mighty replied, hugging her back.
THE END
