I don’t exactly remember what year I was born and I forget many details about my life but I will try my best to remember. I was born near Norfolk Virginia on an island called Chincotie Island. It was peaceful there, green grass blue water, I had a friend named Rusteler she had a white mane, beige coat and stripe on her forehead. One windy afternoon many colts my mother, rustler and I where grazing in a lush valley when a piercing sound rang in my ears. I heard the thunder of horses hoofs, all of us strained are eyes to see what was coming, we didn’t have to wait long. Men came on horse back the circled us, then started running west we couldn’t stay where we were or else we would get trampled so we ran along. “Ginger” Rusteler said enthusiastically “where do you think where going to?” She asked “how am I posed to know, I think this is a really fun game that the elders planed” I said just as enthusiastically. Before long we were at the waters edge Rusteler and I bent down to drink when we realized that they were still running so we ran with them into the water, it refreshing swimming in the cool shallow water, but they forced us deeper and deeper I could barely swim, “Rusteler!” I screamed then I went under and came back up “Help! I yelled “I Cant help you she gargled back”. The salt water stung the scratches in my legs and burned my eyes. I saw many colts thrashing as they went under but they never came back up. Finally I saw a thin layer of brown show in the surf, I felt a fresh wave of energy and shot as fast as I could swim towards the land. Finally I climbed onto solid earth, like a infant colt learning to walk my legs shaking with exhaustion. I fell down and I fell into a exhausted sleep.
