Soooo... this story's title was ripped from (GEE I WONDER WHAT) High School Musical. Yeah you heard me. High School Musical. Cept this is all about Drama. And stuff. So yeah. Uh, there's gonna be tons of pairings in this story, so beware. I'm pretty much pairing everybody with everybody, in either a serious romance or a silly dare/spinthebottle/sevenminutesinheaven fling. Yep yep. Also, there's six characters in this story that are actually real people (all of whom I have told are in this story, one who wanted to be added lol). So i'll see if you can figure out who they are (and i make it pretty darn obvious xD). FEAR NOT!! They aren't major characters. They're in here to add to the DRAMA!! LOL. yeah. Add to the Drama = bring in real people who are obsessed with anime characters. xD

Enjoy!!

Chapter 1: Bad Boy

The school was still the same as always. It stood tall in the sky, seven floors in total. Students still believed that the seventh floor was haunted, and that the sixth room on the fifth floor was filled with blood. The door was always closed and the lights always off.

The building was still shaped like an “L”, still pale blue in color. Windows at equal intervals, open halls, and staircases. There was a large auditorium that ruined the “L” shape of the building, adding an extra bulk at one end. The gate still stood strong at the front, currently open to admit students.

Sakura Haruno walked through the gates with her friend Ino, her pink hair let down and cropped at her shoulders. She had a light purple above her green eyes, a light gloss on her lips. Ino had her long platinum hair pulled up into a high ponytail, leaving a large fringe of hair covering one of her eyes, her makeup heavier on her face than in grade nine when she spent most of her time with Karin – and being naughty. Her crystalline blue eyes were bright as always, her uniform picture perfect. Sakura's uniform was a bit wrinkled.

“You know, Sakura, I like the new uniform.”

“I don't. I mean, come on, my hair is pink.”

Ino frowned, looking down at the white shirt and plait maroon skirt, “but, Sakura, the red doesn't clash with your hair.”

They had arrived in the courtyard by this time, across from the tables, eyes searching for the tables that were specifically for grade ten students. Tenten spotted them as they spotted her and waved them over. They quickly went.

“Sometimes I miss being in grade nine...” Ino sighed as she sat down. Sakura remained standing, looking across the courtyard at students she knew and students that she didn't.

“Ino, our grade ten year hasn't even started yet,” Tenten informed her, smoothing out her skirt. Ino sighed and leaned back, “I know, I know...”

The rest of the conversation was lost to Sakura, her eyes scanning over familiar faces. She frowned when she saw that Shikamaru was still fuming at Hidan about the death of Asuma. The attractive silver-haired teen was currently tolerating this, but judging by the way he rolled his violet eyes he was going to lose his temper soon.

Shrugging off her bag Sakura tossed it onto the bench next to Ino, informing the two girls, “I'm going to walk around,” before quickly heading toward Shikamaru and Hidan, 'why do they have to be so far away... damn it.'

There was a blue haired girl with amber eyes that was trying to make Shikamaru go away, but it wasn't working. Sakura didn't recognize, and didn't want her to get involved and possibly hurt, so she quickened her pace to a jog. Once she was within ear shot she heard Shikamaru snarl, “This is between me and Hidan, bitch. Don't get involved.”

Sakura is momentarily shocked by this and she stopped, staring, 'did he just – did he just -?!'

Hidan's face contorted in fury and the arm that the girl held loosely lashed forward, hitting Shikamaru square in the chest and knocking him onto his behind.

“You bastard!” he growled, taking on a very threatening stance over Shikamaru. The commotion caught the attention of several other students. Sakura snapped out of her stupor and dashed the rest of the way forward, 'great. What a great way to start the new year.'

Fear gripped at Sakura when Hidan raised his fist slightly, and she managed to place herself between Shikamaru and Hidan – she knew that Hidan would never hit her. She wrapped her small hands around his large fist, eyes dropping once to the girl hiding behind Hidan before gazing into his eyes.

Eyes that drowned her. She swallowed, “uh, Hidan, uh, um, please don't. I'll – I'll talk to him about it just... no fights? For today? Please?”

Hidan's furious expression faded and Sakura felt his fist loosen under her grasp. She pulled her hands away, and Hidan's hand dropped back down to his side. He turned to the girl, who looked close to tears. He grabbed her chin and made her look up at him.

“Hey girl, don't make that face. He's just being a punk; don't listen to him, babe.”

She took a shuddering breath and nodded. Hidan wrapped his arm around her shoulders and led her away. Sakura heard her ask, “what happened?” and in reply Hidan muttered, “I'll tell you at lunch, seriously.”

Sakura crossed her arms, turning to glare down at Shikamaru, “smooth move, wise guy.”

Shikamaru scowled and scrambled to his feet, placing his hands on his hips, “sometimes I regret telling you what happened.”

Sakura released an exasperated sigh, “look, it happened a year ago! Let it go already! Why do you have to make it sound like it was all Hidan's fault? Because he lived and Asuma-sensei didn't?”

Shikamaru's mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water, and he changed the subject, “so I hear we have a new home room teacher this year.”

'That's what I thought,' Sakura growled inwardly, furious at him. She released a frustrated sound and turned, walking back toward the girls, “don't change the subject, Nara. You can't blame Hidan for that accident. Even Kurenai let it go. Oh and you know,” she tossed her head to look over her shoulder at him, “he apologized to Kurenai-sensei because she didn't bug him half to death about it or try to make him feel guilty. She taught him all the same.”

“Then why did he apologize?!” Shikamaru demanded, standing at the edge of the table while Sakura took her seat next to Ino.

“Because he knew she was hurting. You know she cried in his arms?”

At this knowledge Shikamaru's face went pale and he collapsed on the ground. A moment of mumbling later and Shikamaru poke his head over the top of the table, “how do you know?”

“She snoops around,” Ino said, taking a sip of her juice. Sakura mock-slapped her on the arm and stated, “I asked him. He got all shy about it. It was cute,” and then she stuck her tongue out at Ino, “yeah, I actually got Hidan to talk to me, and now we're good friends.”

Ino flushed, “that doesn't mean anything...” she mumbled, looking away. Sakura was about to grind it in more that she was friends with a lot of he attractive guys at school when a loud voice cried out, “SAKURA-CHAN!!”

She sighed as Naruto came running up with Sasuke in tow, and inwardly groaned, 'I can't wait till homeroom.'

--

Grade ten homeroom was everything but calm and quiet. Their teacher hadn't come in yet, and the class had fallen into utter chaos. Sakura had given up trying to get them to calm down, and so had Sasuke. Naruto and Kiba were dancing on their desks, Gaara was sleeping in the corner and five girls Sakura had never seen before sat quietly in the front, talking amongst themselves, the long-haired brunette obviously the leader.

Just when Sakura was about to screech at the top of her voice the door to the classroom flew open. She stared at the man leaning in the doorway before settling back down in her seat. His voice was loud and pleasant when he called out, “ya'll better settle down before I break some faces. Get the hell off the desks, sit in your chairs and act like you have brains. And somebody wake that red-haired kid up.”

Shocked by his words, everyone sat and grew silent. Shino shook Gaara awake gently, muttering, “our sensei is here.”

He waited in the doorway, sapphire eyes looking over all their faces. He nodded and turned around, glaring at them over his shoulder. Another teacher walked by.

“The teachers are running a bit late. We came by to make sure you punks were behaving yourselves. You better be sitting in your chairs when I come back, or there'll be hell to pay.”

And with that he stalked off down the hall. As the door closed Sasuke walked to the front of the classroom and leaned against the board.

“It wouldn't do anybody any good to get in trouble their first day,” he explained. Several students sighed, and most began to converse quietly with the person sitting next to them.

After five minutes passed Sasuke leaned forward, then strode quickly back to his desk, sitting down seconds before their new teacher opened the door.

He strode in gallantly, like he owned the place. Sakura's eyes widened and her mouth dropped open.

He had a cigarette in his mouth and piercings in his ear and one in his eyebrow. He was wearing black jeans and black Nike's, and when he turned to face the class Sakura's face turned red.

The jacket she'd thought he'd been wearing turned out to be a leather vest that exposed his well-muscled chest and abs. His skin was a grayish-blue color, his hair a deep blue, three crescent shaped marks aligned on his cheeks in a downwards pattern.

He took the cigarette out of his mouth and blew smoke to the left before crushing the rest of the burning stick in his fist. Sakura stared at his hand, a small gasp catching in her throat, 'did he burn himself?!'

He held his hand over the garbage can, opened it and watched the remains of the cigarette flutter into the garbage. His sapphire eyes moved to look down at the paper and Ino whispered lustily to Sakura, “he's so hot... gawds...”

The teacher looked up and spoke, leaning against the desk, “'aight, first things first. I'm Kisame Hoshigaki, your homeroom and Biology teacher. Yeah, some of you will have me twice a day, so weep.”

Some of the guys snickered and Kisame smirked.

“I've got a feeling that you'll ask later so here's the deal on my skin color: I got it permanently dyed blue. So, don't ask me about it in the near future, or I'll have to sock it to ya.”

Sakura was momentarily stunned by his choice of words. Though his dress and speech implied otherwise, it was obvious that he was well-taught and confident. She came out of her stupor, blush finally fading, and timidly asked, “and the gill-like marks?”

When he quirked an eyebrow at her she thought, 'I'm surprised he heard me at all. And that... that expression suits him,' she forced herself to listen to him speak, “tattoos. Yeah, so, some of your girls are just kind of staring at me,” he pressed a hand against the desk and leaned against it, the vest falling more to one side. Heat rose to Sakura's cheeks once again as he purred, “stop drooling and pay attention.”

Ino looked offended, “we're no drooling!”

“... she is,” Kisame insisted, nodding at Tenten. Immediately Tenten wiped her lips on her sleeve before covering her mouth with her hand, her face turning red from the neck up. Sakura could tell she was laughing by the way her shoulders bounced up and down, even after she pressed her forehead to the desk out of embarrassment.

“Uh... yeah, okay, moving on,” he looked at the list again, a mischievous smile replacing his smirk.

“So... you guys mind telling me who's absent?”

Naruto perked up and said, “Shikamaru!”

The class laughed for a moment while Kisame scanned the list, “Shika... Shika... Ah, Shikamaru Nara.”

Naruto grinned and Sakura sighed, 'I hope Kisame-sensei doesn't fall for this too...'

Kisame released a chuckle, “nice try, Boomer, but I do believe that Shikamaru is that kid there with the big, wide, bushy pony tail. Am ah right?”

Naruto gaped, hung his head and uttered a defeated, “yes.”

Shikamaru stared at Kisame, then demanded, “how do you know? It's not like you know Hid -”

Kisame brightened yet he scowled at the same time, his expression making Shikamaru stop short, “Hidan? I freaking live with that kid and he bitches about you every damn day. You're like, the bane of his existence, to use his words.”

The class burst into laughter while Shikamaru immediately went on the defensive and growled, “you don't know the half of it! He k-”

“Shika don't!” Ino yelped, alarmed, her cry startling the class. Sasuke stood when Shikamaru looked like he was going to explode, “but it's his f – urk!”

Chouji jolted out of his seat because Kisame had strode down the isle at an inhuman pace and wrapped a large hand loosely around Shikamaru's neck. Sakura had jumped up in shock, several students gasping at their teacher's sudden change in temperament. One of the girls at the front also stood, eying a black haired boy curiously – he had just opened the door, a slip of paper in his hand.

Kisame's expression was one of pure fury and he growled, “don't talk like you know him, because it's obvious that you don't know a single damn thing about his past or the kind of shit he has to go through when he comes to school every day and has to deal with stuck-up brats like you.”

His expression softened then and he released Shikamaru, standing up straight. He headed back to the front of the classroom, nodding at the new student and taking the slip of paper. The brunette who had stood nodded at her dark-haired, cocoa skinned friend at the back, sitting next to Lee. The boy stuck his tongue out at her and she jabbed him in the chest before laughing and sitting back down while he retreated to the empty set of desks next to Lee.

'Wow... he-he recovers fast,' Sakura thought as she slowly took her seat, Chouji cautiously trying to get his friend to lift his friend. Shikamaru looked away from him.

“Tell me your names. Faces are easy; names aren't.”

The brunette closest to the window – the leader girl, Sakura had recently dubbed her – started, “I'm Bug.”

Her bright teal-green eyes flicked to the girl next to her, and Bug's friend spoke, “uh, I'm Gin.”

Her hair was cropped short and a lighter brown that Bug's. The next set of girls introduced themselves as Angel – a dark-skinned, ebony haired girl, who was shorter and rounder than the others – and Zie. Zie's skin was paper white in comparison to Angel's but her hair was the same color, just longer and straighter.

Kisame nodded, and rested his blue eyes on Sakura.

“Ah! Sakura,” she squeaked, blushing. Ino glanced at her before saying, “Ino.”

To Ino's left Shino introduced himself before sighing and jostling Gaara, who also introduced himself before resting his head against the window again. Kisame's sapphire eyes were once again on Sakura, and she saw that he wanted an explanation for Gaara's tiredness.

“Well, he... he's just getting over having insomnia for years and I think that – his parents forgot to give him the letter,” she explained, biting on her lip and chiding herself for stuttering so much. Kisame nodded and behind her Sakura heard Naruto say, “Sasuke!”

Sasuke – after rolling his eyes – complied, “Naruto.”

Sakura glanced at Shikamaru, whose head was still down even though it was obvious the rest of the class was waiting for him to speak. However, Kisame didn't seem to mind and rested his eyes on Chouji and the large boy muttered, “Chouji.”

'You shouldn't feel like you're betraying him, Chouji,' Sakura wanted to say so badly. The next two pairs made their introductions: Hinata, who sat behind Naruto and Neji, who sat behind Sasuke. Across from them to the left were Kiba and Tenten – she was sitting next to the window and had finally managed to lift her head. Kisame grinned cheekily at her, making her blush, her forehead once again resting on the desk. Snickers rose up from Kiba and Naruto.

Bug's other friend introduced herself as Chel, and next to her Lee said a bit too enthusiastically, “Lee!”

Like so many other teacher's reactions, Kisame's eyes widened and he took a step back, as if Lee's enthusiasm was too much for him. Laughter rose from the class, though Sakura's smile faltered as Shikamaru still hadn't raised his head.

The latecomer nodded and said, “Wolfe.”

Kisame picked up the list and checked it over before asking, “new?”

“Yep. I gotta' go to the office at lunch, so you can just add my name to the bottom.”

“Right, right,” Kisame agreed, scribbling down Wolfe's name at the bottom of the list. He plunked down in his chair and sighed, before checking something on the computer and announcing, “so... you guys are in here for...” he looked at the clock, “.. roughly ten minutes more. Before there's some assembly thing. Aw, crap, that means I have to put my shirt on...”

At this Tenten deliberately huffed, staring and gaping at him as if him wearing a shirt was an absolute crime. This, thankfully, got Shikamaru smiling a bit, his head finally coming up, only to droop again once Kisame's gaze rested on him. Sakura frowned, 'he's a lot more emotional about it than I thought.'

Kisame relaxed in the swivel chair, his eyes drifting shut. A collective murmur went up in the class, Ino getting up to investigate Shikamaru's predicament and make sure he was alright. Sakura sighed and tipped her head back, perplexed as to why Shikamaru was being so touchy about the whole issue. Her brows furrowed, 'he just doesn't have a right, to go blaming Hidan like that. It wasn't Hidan's fault that Asuma got impaled by a – a steel pole!'

She would have continued with her inner rant if Bug hadn't suddenly walked up to her.

“Hey.”

“Uh, hey. So, I here you guys just transferred in.”

“Yeah, we did. You're... Sakura, right?” Bug asked, leaning against Sakura's desk. Sakura nodded, “and you're Bug. By the way, why is your name Bug? Isn't that a little odd for...?”

“For a girl?” Bug offered, tilting her head and smiling. Sakura nodded and Bug laughed, “well, it is. And it's not really my real name – none of us gave our real names – but that's besides the point. Angel calls me her 'precious bug' and I call her my 'sweet angel'. That's where our names come from. But yeah,” Bug looked around and leaned forward to whisper, “seems like you have an eye for the teacher. He is quite attractive, isn't he?”

Sakura blushed furiously and turned her head away, making Bug giggle. Angel, Zie and Gin walked past, Gin latching onto Bug's arm and pulling her down toward Chel and Wolfe. The whole six of them kept to themselves; Sakura knew how hard it could be to be a transfer student. If they were lucky they'd stay till they graduated. Otherwise... well, they'd transfer again.

Suddenly Kisame called, “Sasuke.”

Naruto looked up, “yes?”

This caused the teacher to laugh and he replied, “not you, Naruto. The real Sasuke.”

Sasuke chuckled and stood as Naruto released a cry of anguish. The raven haired teen made his way to the front, then he and Kisame conversed in low voices. Sakura figured that Sasuke must have been telling Kisame about the rules and what not of the school, giving him the low down on it all.

'Hmph. He's showing off again,' Sakura told herself. She glanced to her left to see how Shikamaru was doing, and saw that he was doing alright.

Sasuke came sauntering down the aisle, a small smirk on his lips.

“What happened that managed to please you?” Tenten asked sarcastically. He scowled at her before smiling and saying rather proudly, “I've been promoted to class prefect. Only when Kisame's out, though.”

Those that heard either sighed or laughed, and Sakura got up to approach the teacher herself. She wanted to make sure he hadn't burned himself.

She clasped her hands behind her back once she reached the desk, “ano, Kisame-sensei...”

He gave her his attention, swiveling in his chair to look at her, “yeah?”

“Did you... well, did you burn your hand when you crushed the cigarette?”

He cocked an eyebrow, “possibly, but I have such thick callouses on my hands that if I had gotten burned I wouldn't have felt it anyway.”

She gaped, “you do that often?”

“Oh yeah, all the time,” he replied in a matter-to-fact tone. Sakura scowled at him before holding out one of her hands, placing the other on her hip, “hand.”

He blinked at her then held out his hand. She grabbed is and looked it over, absentmindedly tracing the lines in his palm. She frowned, eyes finally resting on a brownish-red mark on his palm. She poked it; no response. Taking a jab at it she hoped he would at least flinch. He didn't move a muscle.

“I – I guess you didn't get burned. And you do have thick callouses. Why?”

“Sword play.”

'That – that better not be his hobby!' she inwardly hoped. She unconsciously squeezed his hand, “sword – play?”

“Like, martial arts. Wooden swords. Big, heavy wooden swords.”

“Oh. Oh. I thought you meant – uh, real swords.”

He smirked, “only in competitions,” there was a silence before he glanced at their hands, “so, are you going to let go of my hand anytime soon or are you going to hold onto it forever?”

Sakura blinked then flushed and pulled her hands away, “I-I'll go sit back down now,” and she scurried away. Sasuke was giving her an odd look and she smiled stupidly while explaining, “I just wanted to see if he'd gotten a burn. I mean, you of all people know that I want -”

“To be a doctor,” he finished for her, sitting down on top of her desk. She blinked at him, blushed a little and sat down in her chair.

“Y-yeah. A doctor.”

An announcement came over the loudspeaker, saying that students should make their way to the auditorium. Everyone stood and headed out, Bug practically dragging her five friends out the door. While everyone else filed out Sakura lagged behind, waiting for Ino who was talking to Chouji. Shikamaru had started to sulk again, and Ino finally got Chouji to leave Shikamaru's side.

“Go on ahead. I'll wait for Shika,” Sakura whispered to Ino. Ino nodded, eyed the boy once and then hurried after Chouji.

Five seconds after Ino disappeared from sight Shikamaru stood up abruptly. He stalked toward the door, completely ignoring Kisame's passive gaze. Sakura edged out of the doorway, preparing to bolt if need be, when Kisame stood up and grabbed Shikamaru's arm. Before the infuriated teen could even speak Kisame said, “I'm sorry for losing my temper. Don't hold it against me, kid.”

They stared at each other for a moment before Shikamaru smiled crookedly and nodded. Kisame released his arm and shooed him away, walking back over to the chair and sitting down. Sakura smiled and walked down the hall with Shikamaru toward the mass body of students.

'That was really sweet of Kisame, to apologize like that.'

Aww, ain't Kisame a sweet guy? And yet, he's a bad boy. Gee, i wonder what would happen if we had a teacher that came into school like that... *it wouldn't happen, btw*. So, do you know who the real people are yet? xD. This story will have two sequels, just like High School Musical. And Romeo and Juliet will most likely be performed. harhar. And... some info on Kisame that you should know. He just graduated from university and is twenty-three years old. The only two other characters whose ages are messed up the most are Tsunade and Kakuzu. I'mma put them both in their forties.
