Lose Control

Chapter 1: Dreams

"Just joking," Alice whispered, her eyes alight, her chime-like laughter breaking the silence that followed. She regarded Bella's baffled expression and, biting her lip, she rearranged her expression into the form of a pout. "You didn't take that seriously, did you? I guess I'm losing my touch."

Bella blinked several times; she was still a bit flabbergasted by the diminutive vampire's 'joke,' but the least she could do was humor the elder girl.

"Haha, you got me Alice…" She said finally, a smile tugging at her lips as she watched a cheeky grin flash across Alice's angelic face.

"But of course, we vampires are good at everything, dontcha know?" She replied smugly, winking as she crossed her arms over her chest.

Bella snorted. "Everything except showing modesty, it would seem," she chided playfully, but her expression quickly relaxed and she stretched, letting out a large yawn.

"You should get some rest, Bella," Alice said firmly as she slid an arm around the younger woman and directed her gently towards the bed. "You've had a rather long day."

Bella had half a mind to protest but all of her fight seemed to seep away as the lithe pixie's body pressed against her own; the cool, hard, granite skin reminding her of her peaceful nights so many months ago.

She crawled into bed quickly, sliding beneath the covers and turning to face the vampire. She wasn't surprised to see that Alice had already changed but she was taken aback slightly at what it was the other woman was wearing. The small set was most likely from Victoria Secret, the pale, blue-grey cami was form fitting, and therefore didn't leave much to the imagination.

And while Bella could clearly remember Alice sporting camis and tank tops in the past, she couldn't think of another moment that she'd been so enthralled with Alice's beauty. The elder girl was clearly not wearing a bra; the human could feel goose bumps rising across her own skin as she took in the sight before her. Her eyes moved down further, following the curve of Alice's taut stomach just below - the most likely - extremely soft material. The underwear was the same color. Both the cami and the knickers were trimmed with pale tan lace, just enough to add a bit of flare to the plain but cute ensemble.

"Bella?"

"Hmmm?" Bella blinked, looking back up at the raven haired woman's beautiful face. Alice's head was cocked off to the side slightly, her right eyebrow lifted and a small smile played across her full lips.

"May I join you?" Alice asked a second time, her eyes dancing in amusement as Bella's eyes widened and a blush crept across her cheeks.

"Y-yes of course you can Alice!" Bella stammered, her eyes moving to the blankets as if they were the most interesting things she'd ever laid eyes on. She could feel the slight shift of the mattress as the vampire slid onto the bed and her eyes followed the sheet and comforter as they were lifted.

"You look like you could use pajamas like these Bella," The younger girl tensed at the excited tone the vampire's voice had suddenly taken, "I know! We could take a trip to Port Angeles tomorrow!" She said in a gleeful voice. Bella cringed, glancing towards her window now as a new fear filled her. As much as she loved spending time with Alice, she tended to enjoy the complete opposite of what Bella herself enjoyed doing.

Alice giggled at her expression, poking her nose affectionately before allowing a stern expression to slide onto her beautiful face. "But we'll talk about that more in the morning. Sleep now, Bella," she said, laying her head against the mattress, and rolling over so her back was to the human. The younger girl needed her rest, they could catch up and have fun tomorrow… It would probably be the last chance they could, for a while at least. Alice heard Bella sigh and roll over as well, her body now facing the window. After several minutes a smile tugged at the vampire's lips as Bella's heart slowed to a comfortable pace and she slipped into a deep sleep.

Bella sighed softly as she felt two strong, cold, and familiar arms tighten around her. A pleasant smile spread across her face as she adjusted her position, turning her head to gaze into the topaz eyes behind her.

"Edward?!" She exclaimed, trying to turn to embrace him, but he kept her firmly in place. She stared at him for a moment. "Where's Alice?" She questioned, a puzzled expression replacing her joy.

Edward's jaw tightened at this. "She's gone back… She shouldn't have come in the first place." Bella frowned at this but remained silent. The lack of conversation continued for several minutes before she noticed his jaw relaxing slightly.

"Bella," her angel started, his eyes hardening as he paused. The moment seemed to draw itself out, and with each passing second the warmth seemed to fade from his eyes until finally they were black as the night sky. The young woman studied the vampire's expression carefully, her chest contracting at the now hateful glare he turned upon her.

"It would have been in your best interest to forget about me," he growled, his lips drawing up in a slight snarl. The venom glinting off of his perfect white teeth only added to the building fear in the human's heart. She then watched in horror as his eyes trailed slowly down her face, her neck, and then lower, all the way down to where her body disappeared below the covers, then slowly making their way back up to confront her own once again. He eyed her hungrily, licking his lips before continuing.

"…As it is in your best interest now to pull away, to scream in fear." His voice was softer now, sultry, as he leaned slowly, but his eyes remained hard, cold and distantly, mocking.

And the truth was, Bella wanted to scream – every inch of her body had gone stiff. Her heart was racing, her mind a blur, as she tried to get herself to respond; her eyes instinctively closing, as if thinking that she could open her eyes and have willed the immortal away.

Her eyes shot open at an odd sound: brilliant chuckle escaped him and Edward's cool, intoxicating breath further clouded her senses.

Bella relaxed at the sudden shift in his tone, her eyes fluttering shut as Edward lowered his lips to her neck. His right hand trailed slowly against her jaw line as he kissed upwards towards her pulse point.

"Goodnight love," his voice purred. All was quiet for several minutes before a loud crunch shattered the silence.

Bella's eyes were wide, her mouth was open but no sound came forth from her parted lips. Edward removed his hand from under her head, which was thrown back at an odd angle. "Stupid human," he leered. She glanced at him frantically, weak tears forming in her eyes. Her neck was throbbing painfully but she could make no sound or move her quickly numbing limbs.

The vampire climbed over her, straddling her narrow hips before tearing open her baggy shirt; his cold hands moved over her prone body hungrily while he lowered his lips once more to her exposed neck. Bella's eyes clamp shut as his teeth tear into her tender flesh and an all too familiar burning envelopes her senses. Her vision becomes hazy and dark as her blood is drained from her wound.

Her flesh, though numb, seemed to be crawling with an invisible flame and though she tried to scream, her voice was nowhere to be found. She could feel tears pulling at her eyes when the realization dawned on her – she was completely helpless, her body immobile, leaving her no chance to even attempt to defend herself from the perfect predator feeding from her. Her eyes scanned the room frantically, but they too soon failed her - her vision slowly faded to black and the last thing that her sight held was the eerie glow of two piercing blood red eyes in the darkness…

Alice was lying comfortably in Bella's bed, her eyes closed as she listened to the human sleeping not far from her, when she was hit with a vision. A bit startled by what she'd seen, Alice turned to face the younger woman, and wrapped her arms gently around Bella's sleeping form. As her cold skin moved against the human's body she felt the heart rate of the woman next to her soar, and Bella began mumbling incoherently in her sleep. Alice's brow furrowed as Bella's heart rate continued to increase; her attempt at calming the girl seemed to be having the opposite effect. But just as she moved to remove her arms from around the younger woman, Bella suddenly began to struggle violently against her cool limbs, small choking gasps and whimpers erupting forth from her parted lips.

"Bella, Bella please!" Alice whispered, her voice soft but worried as she gently tried to hold the struggling brunette. Then suddenly, Bella's body shuttered violently before going limp in the vampire's arms.

"Bella?"

"A-Alice? Bella asked, frantically seeking out the older woman's hands, "Oh Alice…!" She gasped in relief as she shifted to fully embrace her friend.

"Are you alright?" Alice whispered into the human's hair, her hand moving in a slow, circular motion over the shaken young woman's lower back.

"Yes, just a nightmare. I'll be alright, sorry if I scared you…" Bella mumbled into Alice's soft spikes, her cheeks flushing crimson. "Was I… I didn't say anything, did I?"

"Yes, actually you did. But I could only understand the first couple of things you said. Don't worry, it wasn't anything too horrible." She responded in a soft soothing voice. But despite her calm response, Alice was grateful that Bella was turned away from her and unable to see her furrowed brow and her teeth worrying her lip. She'd found the younger woman's sleep talking somewhat disturbing – Edward's name had been prominent. He'd been doing something to her in the dream, and just before her words had become incoherent, she'd nearly screamed out Alice's name, her voice contorted in horror and pain.

Bella sighed, relaxing into the embrace as her breathing and heart rate continued to calm. The vampire hummed an unfamiliar tune into her hair as her eyes grew heavy once more…

Bella's eyes fluttered open slowly, a shiver rolling down her spine as she felt something cold and wet sliding across her neck. She blinked several times in an attempt to clear the sleep from her eyes.

"Mmmm… Sorry, did I wake you?" Alice purred. She lowered her cool lips back to Bella's neck and shifted her body so that her right leg was between both of Bella's. The younger girl's eyes widened as realization dawned on her: Alice had been licking her and was now kissing her neck. Alice was kissing her.

The brunette's breath caught in her throat as an icy hand slid onto her stomach. The fingers sliding slowly over her flesh leaving a trail of goosebumps in their wake. The deep rumbling from earlier that evening had returned as the vampire continued kissing upwards towards Bella's lips.

A shocked moan escaped Bella as Alice's fingers brushed the base of her breast. The raven haired beauty moved quickly, her lips claiming Bella's, and her tongue sliding into the other girl's mouth before she could even begin to comprehend what was happening.

After several minutes, Bella pulled away gasping for air and looking deeply into the eyes of the beauty hovering over her, but before she could begin to speak Alice placed a cold, pale finger against her lips.

"Shh, we can talk later," the imp said with a wink. She placed her hands on Bella's hips and adjusted herself so that she was straddling the slightly bigger woman. Her hands then slowly began tracing up Bella's sides from her hips, moving the material of the baggy shirt along with them.

The brunette's breath hitched in her throat as Alice lowered herself back down to kiss her, the older woman sliding her tongue softly against her bottom lip before gently claiming her lips once more. The kiss was gentle this time; Bella slid her fingers into the black spikes as her eyes fluttered closed. Her kisses in the past with Edward had always been so sexual, the primal need feeding her actions. This kiss was… much different; the butterflies still fluttered in her stomach, the same delicious shivers rolled up her spine, but there was no desperation. No need to seek out any affection from the person above her. Everything was out in the open. And despite that promise for eternity in the past, her kisses back then had been filled with the urgency, with Alice, Bella felt content….

Her eyes remained closed as the vampire began attending to her neck once more, her lips dancing across the flushed flesh. "Bella," Alice moaned in a deep throaty voice. "Bella," she moaned again. Bella shivered below her, the smooth musical voice had become twisted by lust but the sound of it was still completely and utterly enthralling to her ears.

"Bella!"

Bella blinked and opened her eyes with a groan; her mind was swirling with confusion as she gazed up into the amber eyes just hovering above her own. Alice sighed, falling back against the headboard. "You were having another one of those… things. A… nightmare, right?" She asked in an almost sheepish tone.

Bella gulped, 'It was a dream! …Well of course it was a dream… How could THAT perfect creature want you?'

"Well… I was dreaming yes, but… no, not a nightmare actually." She responded a blush darkening her cheeks, a slender brow slid up into Alice's dark bangs.

"Hmm, alright." She murmured sliding back down next to Bella, her lips pulling into a pout as she twirled a chestnut lock around her pale finger.

"What's wrong?" Bella asked propping herself up onto her elbow, the vampire merely shook her head and admired the different flecks of color that highlighted the hair held between her thumb and forefinger.

Bella was about to repeat herself, which would be the first time she'd ever had to ask that of any of the vampires let alone little Alice.

"I missed you."

Suddenly, Bella found herself wrapped in Alice's lean, strong arms, the vampire's face buried in her hair and her body pressed tightly against the cold, slender body of the elder woman.

She could feel that the vampire was not breathing, but instead of questioning the shaken creature, she instead wrapped her arms around the cool torso.

"This… doesn't feel real, Bella. I saw you die… you shouldn't be here in my arms and yet you are." Alice shuddered as memories from the vision flooded her mind.

Bella could feel unshed tears beginning to burn in her eyes at the tone in the diminutive vampire's tone; she moved her hand slowly in a circular motion as Alice had done for her earlier. Her hand paused over the cold back, reminding her of her thoughts several minutes earlier. "You aren't breathing."

Alice stiffened at this, and after a long pause finally responded in a hesitant voice.

"Bella… what if… what if I hadn't been joking?"
