The Yellow Eyed Demon smirked as he looked at the three Whinchesters pinned agenist the wall. He'd come just before they had finished putting salt in front of all the doors and windows and now he had all three in his grasp.
The colt lay on a table not five feet away from him. He'd already teased them a bit but he had one more thing to tell them before he killed Dean and John. And he was quite sure that this would be the iceing on the cake. He'd be able to get a real reaction out of them with this.
"So Sammy didn't tell you he was planing on marrying Jessica. That dosn't really suprise me at all but there's one more thing he didn't tell you and this I think you diserve to know. It's not nice for him to lie to his family especially seeing how this little tid bit of information probably would had make things a lot better between you."
Dean's eyes swept over to look at his little brothers face hopeing to find a confused look but unfortunitly the look wasn't what he had hoped. Sam's face had drained of all color and his eyes had widened in shock or fear. Dean squinted at his little brother almost hoping that it would make the look go away but it didn't work.
Dean had hoped that there were no secrets between them but aparently he'd bee wrong. He was hoping that he knew everything but aparently there was something his little brother had feared him finding out even more than anything and he had hidden it with the best of his ability.
"Don't." Three sets of eyes turned to look at the youngest Whinchester.
"Now it's not fair that I know and they don't Sammy. Their your family afterall. Besides I think your dad diserves to know that he was going to be a Grandpa."
Had Dean and John's heads been able to jerk they would have but both had to settle with a shocked look. First at the demon and then at Sam ,who looked like a kid whoe'd just lost the most important thing he'd ever owned.
"What's he talking about Sammy?" Dean asked as he eyed his little brother. He was hopeing to god that what the demon had just said was a lie but judging by the look on his kid brothers face it wasn't lieing.
John's voice was next to join his eldist son's the slightest tone of worry making its way through. "Sammy?"
Sam shook his head for a moment trying to compose himself before he spoke. He couldn't bring himself to let his father and brother hear the misery that the demon's small piece of insight had brought him.
"Jess was about four months pregnet when he killed her."
Dean swallowed hard as he listened to his baby brother's words. He could hear the pain and dispair hidden in their very depths. Eyes turning toward his father Dean had to wander what was going through his fathers head at that moment.
John fought the urge to shake his head in denial. Not only had Sam lost the woman he was planning on marrying but he'd also lost a child ,a son or a daughter. His grandson or granddaughter and Dean had lost a niece or nephew. The fact that the child had yet to be born didn't matter. They'd still lost another member of their family to the demon.
The demon himself stood there smirking as he watched the Whenchesters, all three of them had taken a hit in different ways but he still had a bit of information to give them.
"You should be honored. Dear sweet little Jessica had already chosen a name had the baby been a girl. She planned on naming it Marry after your whife John. Wasn't that just wonderfull? I think she planned on naming it after her father or grandfather had it been a boy."
God how Sam wished he could make the demon stop talking. The ache in his heart ,one that had been fading as the months went by, flared up again and he almost wanted to cry out and let his dispair be known to the world.
Though dispair and pain turned quickly to anger as he eyed the yellow eyed demon. He wanted nothing more than to kill the creature in front of him. Oh how he wished he could lift the Colt with his mind like Max had been able too.
"But now that thats out I really should get back to business. I mean I can't just hold you boys here forever." One simple movement of the demon's hand had Dean screaming in pain as some unseen force began to tear into his body.
Sam's heart skipped a beat.
"You leave him alone you sonofabitch." John yelled as he eyed his eldist son. He could already see a spot of blood on Dean's shirt and he knew it'd be joined by others soon.
HIs vision seemed to narrow untill the only thing he could really see was the demon standing inbetween him and his family.
Dean screamed. He couldn't help it. The demon was tearing into his skin with an unseen knife and damn it all to hell it hurt so bad. It felt as if the demon was tearing through his heart and lungs as well but some far off part of his brain realized that he wasn't. He was going to inflict painful minor damage first ,to torture his family mentaly, before killing him.
He could hear his haert beat and possably the hearts of all the others in the room. There was a strong pressure building up behind his eyes and god it hurt. He knew this feeling all to well but this time Dean wasn't there to help him through it. God he wanted his brother so much right know it hurt but the demon was standing in his way.
Azazel smirked as he listened to Dean cry out in agony. It was such a sweet sound to him and killing the elders in front of Sam would be the perfect way to bring him to the dark. He'd kill both Dean and John slowly. Tearing at their bodies slowly.
He'd just do surface damage first ,things that if by some miricle they sould escape would be fixed quite easaly. He knew it was stupid but he couldn't help it. Their screams of pain and fear were like the finest notes of music to him. Besides he wanted to see how far he could push Sam before the boy finally snapped.
He couldn't rake it anymore. Something in him had to give or he feared he'd go crazy or explode ,whichever came first. He knew that it wouldn't be much longer.
Another simple move of the hand and another gash tore itself into the skin on Dean's chest and before he could stop himself he screamed in pain. John's eyes were wide as he looked between his oldest and the demon that held them. It was then he realized that something was missing.
Sam hadn't made a sound since he'd told them about Jessica and the baby that had died with her. John's worry for Dean was put on the back burner for a moment as he tried to look around the demon and see his youngest but he couldn't so he did the next best thing. "Sammy? Are you okey son?"
Was he okay. He didn't really know the answer to that question but he was quite sure it was no. He wasn't okay. His head felt like it had split in to and was moving on into a third piece. That and he still wanted Dean. He wanted Dean so badly that it made the pain in his head fill nonexistant. He did know though that if he got rid of the demon then Dean could help him get rid of the pain.
And as the lone figure in his vision lifted his hand, to extract another scream from his brother, Sam decided that he wasn't going to let that happen. He was going to stop this now. So with a horse shout of "No" the room in front of his eys came back into view and seemed to burst into every color possable at the same time.
They had barley herd it. The low shout of defiance from Sam before everthing around them began shaking. The Colt hit the ground with a loud 'thump' after it had been shaken off of the table. Seconds later John and Dean found that they could move again. Something had make the demon let them go.
"Are you okay Dean?" John's question was urgent and would have sounded harsh to anyone but his son. Dean took a few deep breaths before runing his fingers over the cuts on his chest. They weren't as bad as they looked. They were only about an inch long and they weren't very deep at all they just seemed it. But they hurt like hell.
"Ya. Dad I'm fine. But why'd it let us go?" John could only shrug as he looked at his eldist son and then turned to look at the demon.
Azazel growled low in his throat as he turned to look at Sam. He'd been expecting something to happen but not this. The cabin shaking around them was more than he had ever hoped for so soon. Sam himself was still up against the wall. This time it was for support rather than having been forced onto it.
"Well well Sammy I must say that I never expected this from you at least not so soon." Sam's eyes darted around the room for a few seconds before landing on Azazel. The cabin's shaking slowed bit by bit untill the only things shaking were the furniture and windows. The light over their heads flased off and on a for a few seconds before stopping. Things were just getting started.
He didn't know how he'd done it but he had. He'd made the demon let go of them. The room swam in front of his eyes and everything seemed oddly colored. The light colors were too light and the darks too dark. It was almost unsettling but he was getting used to that fast enough. The weirdest thing though was the glow that seemed to surroung the demon and what he could see of his father and brother.
The color shifted and moved as if alive and seemed to throb as if it had a beat. It was so strange and he had half a mind to see if he was surrounded by the same shifting color as the others but he couldn't bring himself to take his eyes off the demon. He had to end it now. He knew he could and then the pain would go away and he'd be able to think again.
Dean groaned as he forced himself to his feet. The gashes on his chest hurt but the pain was quickly fading. The only thing on his mind now was his little brother. The demon still stood in between him and Sam. A chill had run down his spine when the demon had complimented Sam and Dean knew that it had been Sam who'd set them free.
Sam had moved a cabinet to get to him before but this was so much more. He couldn't help but worry about what this would do to his little brother. Visions were bad enough but whatever Sam was doing now was so much more than that. "Sammy? You okay?"
"Ya Dean I'm okay." The answer was barley loud enough to be herd but it reasured both elder Whinchesters that the youngest was still in one piece. "Just gotta end it now and then we can get outta here."
Azazel snorted and took a step closer to Sam. "You think you can beat me Sam. You're barley managing to hold back your power now. So what's gonna happen when you let it go? Are you really willing to risk hurting your family to get rid of me?"
Sam licked his lips trying to get some moisture back into the dry skin. He could do it right now. He could get rid of the demon. He could send it back to hell and then they could prepare for it's next coming. The colors made sense now. He knew what they were. They were aura's and his powers were strong enough to let him see them. "I can and they'll be fine. I won't hurt them."
"You sound so confident. Are you absolutly sure about that Sam?"
John looked at the demon in front of him and listened to his son's words. He'd have to stop this before Sammy got himself killed. He knew all to well what an untrained psychic's power could do to the one using them and he didn't want Sam hurt.
John took a step forward and was about to open his mouth and say something but a rush of power, it felt almost like electricity, ran through the room and for a second he had to wander if he missed something because the next thing he knew the demon was screaming and a cloud of black smoke was bellowing out of the man's mouth.
The now empty human body hit the ground with a loud thud. John knew hw was dead but he couldn't stop looking at the man. It was Dean's worried voice that pulled him back into reality.
"SAM!" Dean yelled as he lunged forward and cought his little brother as he fell to the ground. Sam had that same look of pain on his face that he'd have after a vision. But this time he didn't seem to have the energy to do little more than keep himself concous. Dean felt the floor vibrate benieth his knee's as his father joined the on the floor.
His head was still killing him but something about the pain was different and it didn't bother him as much. He just felt as if he hadn't slept in a week or two. He had herd his brother's fearful shout when he'd started to fall and he was very gratful that Dean had cought him before he'd hit the floor.
The inpact probably would have made his head start hurting in the 'I just had a vision shoot me now plwase' way again. He was vagly aware of his father and brother talking and much to his dismay he couldn't understand what they were saying. Everything sounded fuzzy and his ears were ringing.
"Sammy? Are you okay son?" God did his dad have to talk so loud? Didn't he know how much his head was hurting right now?
"Sammy talk to me little brother." Okay Dean's voice he could deal with at the moment.
"Mmmm." Okay not what he'd wanted to say but it was something at least and he thought he'd herd Dean chuckle. That was always a bonus.
Dean smiled a bit at Sam's sad attempt at speech but it was something. "Dean." Dean looked up at his father. John had a slight look of worry on his face but mostly he looked stressed. "I'm going to go start the car and call the hospital." ]
Dean quorked an eyebrow. "We don't need a hospital dad."
"We may not but I'm not going to take any chances so live with it."
Dean didn't even have time to reply before his dad was walking toward the door of the cabin they had holed themselves up in. Dean sighed and shook his head before looking down at Sam. He could see that it was more worry for Sam than anything that was making his father consider a hospital. His little brother was pale and shaking which was probably wasting what little energy Sam seemed to have left.
"What did you do Sammy?" Dean asked not really expecting an answer but he wasn't very shocked when he got one.
"Made it leave." Sam's answer was barley a whisper and made Dean wish that his eyes were open so he'd have a better idea of what was going on in his little brothers head.
"Why Sammy? How'd you do it?" If Sam was going to talk then Dean was willing to keep up the questions. Besides he knew that Sam would be more willing to answer him than their father. The main reason being because his father tended to sound mad when he was worried.
"Don't know how. I just knew I could make him leave. Besides he was hurting you. He'd have killed you and dad in front of me just to make me suffer."
Dean nodded his head in understanding. The Yellow Eyed Demon would have wanted to push Sam to his limits just to see what would happen.
"Ya well thanks for saving my ass Sammy." Sam smiled a bit but still didn't open his eyes.
"Your welcome. I'm sorry I didn't tell you Dean."
"About what Sammy?"
"About Jessica and the baby. I'm sorry you had to hear about it from the demon and not from me." Dean let out a silent 'oh'. He'd forgotten about that while he was being tourted and Sam was exorcising a demon with his mind. God that was going to be a hard toppic to talk about. Dean swallowed and blinked his eyes rapidly a few times.
"It's okay Sammy. I'm not mad that it was the demon that told us. You'd have gotten around to it eventually." At least Dean hoped he would have. The sound of boots on the wooden floor made Dean look up in time to see his father reenter the room.
"The hospital knows we're coming. They're going to send an ambulance to meet us halfway then I'm gonna fallow you and your brother in the car." Dean found much to his annoyance that he could only nod as he helped his brother out to the car.
Five minutes later found them racing down the road as if the devil was at their heels. John's eyes roamed back to the rearview mirror for about the seventh or eighth time in the past few seconds. Sam lay still as death in the back seat his breathing raggid and his skin pale and sweaty.
Dean sat in the seat beside him holding one of his old shirts up against the gashes in his chest that had thankfully stopped bleeding not long after pressure had been applied. Dean eyes were glued on the rearview mirror keeping an eye on Sam. John shook his head a bit and turned his eyes back onto the road in front of him.
He could see flashing lights on the side of the road up ahead. The ambulance was waiting for them when he pulled the Impala over and got out of the drivers side. A paramedic walked up to him.
"You John Roberts?"
"Yes. I called you about my sons. Dean's not so bad but its Sam I'm worried about." The man nodded before he and his coliges got to work.
