A Vivacious Hogwarts Holiday
"I have a rather sneaky trick up my sleeve." Hermione announced as she closed her notebook and snuggled deeper into the love seat beside the fireplace.
Ron popped another jelly bean into his mouth before asking, "And that is?"
Hermione simply smiled in response, averting her eyes to the glistening christmas tree in the corner of the Gryffindor common room. Covered in shining red ornaments and wrapped up in sparkling gold ribbon, the light reflecting from the fireplace and onto the decorations created a more luminescent scene; Hermione pretended to be momentarily dazzled by the sight.
"Hermione?" Harry called out curiously, "Are you going to tell us?"
"I don't think so, I mean I could tell Ron, but he will probably end up telling you." She sat up shrugging, picked up her book, and made her way toward the protrait.
Ron and Harry exchanged a puzzled look, "I don't like when she has that look. Honestly, it scares me a bit." Ron admitted.
"At least you can rest knowing it has nothing to do with you." Harry grumbled with small concern, recalling that Hermione had claimed that she could've only told Ron, if he wouldn't tell Harry, which meant whatever it was, concerned him.
"Sore luck there mate, though it is Hermione, so it can't be nothing too bad." Ron tried to reassure his best friend, Harry just nodded in agreement.

Ms. Granger held a devious expression as she slipped through the hallways of Hogwarts that led to the Gryffindor wing. With Christmas only three days away, luckily most of the students were either home early for the holiday, or locked away in their common rooms with friends. Thus, Hermione was free to cast her newly developed mistletoe spell without the intruding eyes of others.
She wondered about, trying to find the perfect room, the idea she held had to be executed in a flawless manner. Suddenly it dawned on her, in that moment she gave a giddy laugh before hurrying to the library.
"Hello Hermione!" Seamus smiled and called to Hermione as she entered the library, "You're in an awful rush."
"Oh hello Seamus, sorry I can't talk long. I have a few last minute things to study over." Hermione quickly lied, knowing that her friend would buy it easily.
"Always studying." Seamus teased, "I am on my way up to the common room now me self."
Another idea hit Hermione, "Can you do me a favor then?"
"Sure thing, what do ya' need?"
"Tell Ronald that I hid Harry's present in his trunk, and need him to go and wrap it now without Harry knowing?" She asked politely, and of course Seamus smiled in comply.
She had already had Harry's gift wrapped and ready for weeks, however Ron didn't know that. If this plan of hers was to work, she would need Ron to be away from Harry and temporarily distracted. Seamus left with a small good-bye, and Hermione walked further into the library to prepare.

"'Ay Ron!" Seamus called as he entered the Gryffindor common room. Ron and Harry stopped their conversation after a few laughs.
"What?" Ron answered, shoving more candy into his mouth.
Seamus dropped his book onto a near by table, "Hermione says that she hid Harry's christmas present in your trunk upstairs and needs you to go find it and wrap it." He announced without taking care that Harry was right there.
"Why would you say that out loud? And how the bloody hell did she get in our dorm?" Ron asked slightly flustered, Seamus shrugged in response.
"That's Hermione for you." Harry chuckled, Ron didn't seem too amused.
"I'll catch you in a bit then Harry." Ron made his way toward the dorm, Seamus taking Ron's once occupied space.
The two sat for a very little while conversing, before Ginny Weasley floated into the common room gracefully, a piece of parchment in hand.
She leaned down to whisper to Harry, "I found this." She handed him the paper sheepishly, Seamus staring curiously.
Harry began to read, "Dear Ginny & Harry, I have a favor to ask of you. I need you both, at this very moment to leave the common room. Silver bells. You'll know what to do from there."
Harry read the letter a few times, gaining no clarification no matter how many times he read it. He looked up at Ginny, who gave him the same quizzical gaze that he bared.
"Hermione?" He said aloud, "Possibly." She answered scanning over the note again.
Hermione had wanted Harry and Ginny only to leave the common room. . . Something clicked in Harry's mind. He had a feeling Ron wouldn't find a gift hidden anywhere in the boys dormitory. Hermione was creating a situation for Ginny and Harry, to be alone.
"Shall we go then?" She questioned, bringing him from his thoughts.
He couldn't help but smile, "Sure."

Hermione retraced her steps from the Gryffindor tower, all the way to the library, leaving all her little tricks in her wake. She knew Ginny and Harry would be embarking on their little adventure any moment now, and Hermione would guide the entire process. She ended up back at the library, and gave one last quick glance around, the coast was clear.
"Mistelous." The young Gryffindor spoke as clearly as possible, pointing her wand directly at the ceiling. In an instant, a green and red entwined light shot from the end of her wand and into the library ceiling, covering every inch of it in thick and blossomed mistletoe. Hermione admired her work, grinning smugly to herself, it appeared as though the entire library had been engulfed in a vineyard of mistletoe, there was no way that Ginny and Harry could escape it.
Hermione quickly ducked behind the nearest book case, being sure to have the perfect viewing position of the library's entrance. It was all set in place, every aspect of the puzzle had fallen together as planned.
"Granger? What the devil is going on?" She couldn't turn to face him, his voice had caused her to freeze over.
Everything was to be without mistake, it was all suppose to go according to plan, however Hermione had been so caught up in the excitement of it all, she had completely over-looked checking the entire library thoroughly. And now, the one boy she would give the world to not bump into at this moment, was standing right behind her.
"Malfoy? What are you doing here?" She whipped around and spat at him fiercely.
He rose his brow before replying, "It is a school library, I can be here you filthy-"
"Don't." She cut him off, wand at the ready. He closed his mouth. "Since when does Draco Malfoy spend time in the library? On holiday no less??"
"I- I, well you see. . ." He paused for a moment, "I don't need to explain myself to you! You better tell me what it is you've done to this place, or I just might have the nerve to inform Snape." He gave a threatening grin.
"Oh please, it's only mistletoe." She rolled her eyes, lowering her wand a little.
"Why the hell would you cover the library in mistletoe? Hoping some poor bloke will get stuck in here with you, that way someone would actually kiss you?" Malfoy pursed his lips, his cruel joke hardly fazing Hermione.
"Oh yes, that was painful. Anyway, if you'll please leave now." She tried to push him forward, he planted his feet firmly into the ground.
"Why?"
She glared up at him, "Because I asked you too". Malfoy snorted in response, "And?"
"Please leave. Now!" She demanded, he shook his head no.
"I want to know what is going on, what are you hiding?" He asked sternly, refusing to leave.
Hermione studied his expression for a moment, determine that he wouldn't budge unless she gave in. "Alright, alright. I am trying to get Ginny and Harry together, they should be arriving in the library at any moment. The mistletoe is jinxed, therefore they cannot leave this room until they kiss. Happy?"
". . . .That's the reason?" Malfoy yawned, trying to provoke Hermione.
"Yes." She huffed, "Now leave."
"You're trying to play cupid for the Weaslebee girl and Potter, so you flooded the library with mistletoe. Don't you think that the amount of mistletoe was over done a bit?" He gave a quick annalysis of the area, Hermione did the same gingerly.
"Well, yes. But it looks nicer this way-" She stopped herself, "Will you just leave now?!"
To Hermione's bad luck, just as she was trying to force Draco out of the library, the large oak doors creaked open. Harry and Ginny were entering the library, and it was too late. Hermione acted swiftly, snatching Draco by the collar and pulling him behind the bookshelf with her.
"Ruin this in any way, and I swear you'll regret it." She hissed, holding her wand to his neck. Malfoy nodded nervously.

Harry and Ginny had climbed out of the portrait of the Fat Lady, both looking around expectantly. Harry felt anxious at the thought of what Hermione may have had in store for them. Hermione had been the only person Harry could confide in about his developing feelings for Ginny. The young Weasley girl had always been a sweet friend to him, but lately, something about Ginny had had Harry gazing at her in a new light.
"Harry! Over there!" Ginny yelped with excitement, grabbing his arm and towing him to the tall archway in the hall in front of them.
Her light eye's glistened against the glittering sliver bells that hung above them. The bells were bound together by a thin piece of mistletoe, causing Ginny to giggle and Harry to blush.
"Here you are Mr. Potter." Ginny held out her hand with a coy smile, Harry just stared confused, "You must give me a kiss of course. It's mistletoe after all."
He understood then, however was a bit disappointed with Ginny's choice in area, "Okay then." He gave a soft smile before taking her hand in his and giving the back of her hand a chaste kiss.
"Very good Harry." Ginny giggled once more, Harry felt enticed by the sound, as if it were music to his ears.
"Do you get the feeling Hermione is definetly behind this?" He attempted to play it off as if he were clueless.
Ginny turned a light shade of red, "Probably, I am not sure why though." Her eyes quickly averted away. Harry opened his mouth to continue but was cut short by Ginny, "Another one!"
Yet again she took his arm, lightly pulling him further down the hallway, where yet another pair of shimmering silver bells hung proudly above them. Ginny held her hand out for Harry to kiss again, however this time he had a better idea.
"Got'chya." He laughed as he snuck a kiss onto her forearm.
"Harry." She swatted him playfully, "That was cheating."
"Not in my opinion." He gave a bold wink, bringing another flush of red to Ginny's face.
They stared at eachother in silence for a moment, "Do you think we are to follow these bells then?" Ginny finally spoke pointing to a small shining object that was further down the hall.
"I suppose, they seem to lead to some place." Harry shurgged, taking Ginny's hand and leading her to the next set of bells.
"What a christmas adventure!" Ginny laughed, picking up her pace as curiousity over-came her.
As they reached the archway at the top of the staris, Ginny held her fingers to Harry's lips, determined to take control of the matter this time. She giggled to herslef, before pointing to her cheek. Harry shook his head smiling, but was still more then happy to oblige. Though it was a mere peck on the cheek, it had brought a blush to both Harry and Ginny's faces. Ginny could feel the butterflies in her stomache fluttering about in a frenzy, as Harry could feel his heart beating faster.
"Come on!" She mused, both of them hurrying down the flights of stairs, until more silver bells were in sight.
"Are they growing larger?" Harry looked up at the current pair a little puzzled.
"Must mean we are close to the end of this masquerade." The ginger haired girl concluded, "Other cheek now Mr. Potter." She placed her index finger on the opposite cheek.
"Of course, little Ms. Weasley." He teased before the kiss.
"Little?" She rose her brow, "Okay, Mr. Boy Who Lived." Ginny stuck her tongue out in a childish manner.
"Touche" he gave a curt nod, which she answered with a, "Hmph."
"Shall we continue?" He chuckled, offering his hand. She glared momentarily, then look his hand snickering.
"That was a rather good comeback." She looped her arm through his, leading them forward.
Harry rolled his eyes at her comment, "It was decent."
"It was great." She poked his arm, laughing some more. "I am the ultimate insulter! I get it from those devilish brothers of mine. Though it is hard not to pick it up when you live with Fred and George for so long." Ginny sighed with a smile.
"I hear the joke shop is doing amazingly." It wasn't a conversation of too much interest at the moment, but Harry did want to keep talking to her as they walked.
"Phenominally! I want to start working there during the next few summers, but mum and dad aren't too thrilled about it still." She bowed her head with disappointment.
"They will come around, I am sure." Harry tried to be supportive, earning a small laugh from Ginny.
The hallway came to an end infront of the library's massive oak doors, "This must be the place." She pointed to the rather large pair of bells, still held together by a small piece of mistletoe.
"Hermione would pick the library." Harry pointed out, causing them to both erupt into laughter.
Once the hysterics died down, Ginny held out her other hand, "For cheating earlier". Harry went to argue, but a small 'stare' from Ginny caused him to accept her request.
"Princess Ginny." He said teasingly before lingering a kiss on the back of her palm. Ginny's face was now the reddest it had been all day, as she beamed uncontrollably.
"Oh stop it Harry." She pushed him gently, together they smiled.
"Ready?" Harry asked, entwining their fingers.
Ginny looked up confidently, "Come on then."
They both pulled open the library's enormous doors, stepping through the doorway, and gasping in unicin. The scene drew them in deeper into the chamber, the vines of mistletoe looked as if millions of tiny dimonds had been secured in their leafs, as they coated every section of the room.
"It's-" Ginny tried to speak, breathless as she wondered away a bit.
"Amazing." Harry whispered, no longer staring at the scenery.
Ginny turned to find Harry staring at her longingly, a content grin plastered across his face, she bit her lip shyly. She slowly made her way to stand in front of Harry, her heat thumping rapidly in her ears. Harry could feel a sensation of admiration over-take him as she grew nearer, everything in the moment felt so right, planned yes, but intriguing nonetheless. This was Hermione's sneaky trick, to give Harry a perfect place and time to speak to Ginny about what has been on his mind.
"Ginny," He began tenderly.
"Yes Harry?" She was now completely against him, their lips not inches apart.
He swallowed hard, his nerves threatening to surface, but he tried to surpressed them. "Th-there is something I-I have wanted to tell you, th-though I'm not t-to sure how you'll r-react."
"Tell me, please." She encouraged him, leaning in cautiously.
"Something about you Ginny-" He murmured what last cohernet words he could conjure.
She didn't need to be told how he felt, it was clear that the unspoken feeling was mutual. In the next second their lips touched gently, it felt like fireworks could have been exploding around them. It was sweet and chaste, their lips sweeping across eachothers at a slow pace, Harry wrapped his arms around Ginny's small waist, lifting her up a little. She smiled against his kiss, snaking her arms around his neck. They stood in their bliss, enjoying their own sense of heaven. Soon the tender kisses dwindled to butterfly pecks, until Harry and Ginny were left in eachothers arms, smiling widely and gazing into the others eyes.
"I have waited a long time for that Harry Potter." Ginny spoke up with a quiet voice.

"I think I am going to gag." Malfoy was sure that his whisper would only be audiable to Hermione.
"Shut up." She seethed angrily.
They watched in silence as Harry and Ginny stood in the center of the chamber, murmuring in hush voice's. Despite Draco's presence being an annoyance, Hermione was thrilled with exactly how well her plan had gone. Though their kiss hadn't been as long as Hermione had thought it would be, the fact that it was now clear that both had felt the same way about eachother, made her want to sigh with relife. Hermione did very well to keep her giddy girlish giggles to herself as Harry kissed Ginny's forehead before taking her hand and leading her out of the library. Practically flawless, just as Ms. Granger had hoped, now she could return to the Gryffindor common room and bask in the affection that would be raidiating from the new couple.
"That was neausiating." Malfoy had managed to snatch Hermione right out of her joyous mood.
"Malfoy you are such scum. Just because you can't get anything decent, only Prissy, doesn't mean you should go around being sour toward everyone else." She refered to the repulsive Slytherin girl.
Malfoy gave another snort, "Please. Prissy," He said trying to mock Hermione's tone, "Is some annoying little pain who follows me around. You seem to fail to understand I could get whatever I want." Malfoy added a yawn to make the act seem effortless.
"Oh I am sure you could, but as I said, they would be vile girls. Mostly diseased and what not." She smirked, feeling rather proud of herself for the insult.
"At least I could actually get someone Granger." Draco said in a matter-of-fact tone.
Hermione decided that this argument would be endless if she didn't become the bigger person, "You're right Malfoy, as always." She rolled her eyes and walked away.
"Glad you finally see things my way Granger." He stuck his nose in the air, walking a head of her.
Both of them moved with a haste gait, as if it were a race to reach the door first. Hermione shoved Draco out of the way at the last minute, pursing her lips with triumph. She grabbed the handle and pushed the door.
"Oh no." Her heart sank, the door wouldn't budge. She tried a few more times.
"Move! Let an actual man do it." Malfoy snarled, Hermione stepped aside, arms folded across her chest.
Draco Malfoy pushed the door. . . .nothing. He tried again, failing to achieve a promising result. He resorted to shaking the handle like mad, pulling and pushing with all his might. However still the door wouldn't open.
"What the bloody hell did you do Granger?!" He blurted accusingly.
"It's the mistletoe you moron. It's jinxed remember?" She spoke through her teeth.
Malfoy was quiet for a moment, trying to register what was happening. " But Potter and the Weasley girl kissed! You said that was how it worked." He pointed his finger in her face. She swatted it away with aggrivation.
"Idiot, spells cannot always be specified to one or two people. This spells purpose is to keep a girl and a boy locked in this room, until they kiss and fufill the spells purpose. Harry and Ginny were able to leave because they kissed, as neccessay." Hermoine explained to Malfoy, pinching the bridge of her nose.
"How were you suppose to leave then when they did that crap?!" His voice had a hint of panic in it, Hermione huffed at the fact that Draco still wasn't processing the common sense of it all.
"Because the library was suppose to be empty! Therefore the mistletoe would vanish and I would be free to leave, seeing as I was suppose to be alone!" She was now yelling.
Malfoy was quiet again, thinking about the situation. Until finally it clicked in his mind, "So the only way we can leave, is if you and I-"
"Yes." Hermione gritted her teeth.
"This is rubbish, I can't belive this. Way to go with the planning there Granger." Malfoy's stomach was at an unease, he wasn't exactly sure what to make of the. . .oppertunity.
"Do. Not. Blame. This. On. Me!" She poked him in the chest with force, "Since when are you in the library?!"
". . . I had some last minute books to read." He gave her a devious grin.
"Tell me the truth," Hermione took out her wand again, Malfoy drew his as well.
They glared at eachother, wands directly in the others face. "I could curse you before you even think about it." Hermione said calmly, "Then I could get the truth out of you my way."
"Granger, I am not afriad of you." He answered sternly.
"Why were you here Malfoy?" She asked again, he was quiet again.
". . . .You were being sneaky, I wanted to know what you were doing." Malfoy admitted, Hermione was tossed into shock.
"Y-you followed me??" The atmosphere was no longer full of anger.
"Yes." Malfoy answered as if it were nothing, "I was curious to see if Hermione Granger could actually do something mischievious."
Hermione studied Draco's face, "Well you found out." She lowered her wand, and he did the same. Silence settled between them, the air thick with tension, both of them knew what need to be done.
"Hermione." Draco spoke, causing Hermione to go wide-eyes at the use of her first name.
"Draco?" She responded slowly.
"We should get this over with, so that we can leave." His tone was too calm, it was something very unusual to her. What surprised her even more, was how mature he was being now.
"I suppose you are right." She sighed, taking a step closer to him.
"On the count of three?" He also stepped forward, they were the closest they had ever been.
"Mhm." She breathed, it was now her turn to have her heart beating rapidly in her ears.
"One. . .two. . ."
Malfoy was careful to lean down at a comfortably slow pace, Hermione pushing up on her toes slightly to meet his mouth. One last look into eachother's eye's, before both of their eye lids shut. Their lips pressed together firmly, both of them stiff against one and other. After a few seconds however, Hermione relaxed, and Draco expected her to pull away, but she didn't.
Draco felt a long hidden urge over take him, he slipped his hand behind her neck, holding her lips to his. Again he expected her to pull away, but what she did instead shocked him more. Her fingers entwined into his blonde locks, he egarly ran his tongue along her bottom lip, and she complied without hesitation. They explored each others mouths, taking in the sweet sensation. The more the kiss deepened, the more frantic it grew; Draco's hand traveled to the small of her back, pulling her body flush against his own. Hermione's tongue fought for dominance, as her hands roamed over his chest. The attraction between them had ignited and now burned brightly, their kiss was fevourish, having quickly grown from an innocent and supposedly unwanted event, to a powerful and discovered passion.
"Draco." She pulled away gasping; her lips swollen, and cheeks blushing.
"I-I don't know what came over me." Malfoy took a small step back, "I'm sorry?"
She stared at him with a blank expression, then she pointed up to the ceiling smiling. The vine's of mistletoe began to shrivel, disinigrating into a drizzle of golden flakes. The flakes showered them, Hermione was smiling, the moment seemed too story-book, but there was no doubt it was real. Draco ran his fingers through his hair a few times, trying to rid himself of the glitter, causing Hermione to laugh. Draco stopped, looking at her happily, he had never made her laugh before now, it was refreshing.
"Hermione, I-"
"Merry Christmas Malfoy." She was grinning brightly, standing on her toes again, she gave him a soft kiss on the cheek.
"Merry Christmas Granger." Malfoy held a cocky smile.
They gazed at each other for one last moment, Hermione giggled to herself before opening the library's doors and leaving Malfoy in a daze.
"A very merry christmas indeed."
