Professor Snape was an aloof person, a mystery. That is why Colin Creevy found him so intriguing.
Colin could admit it. He had a little bit of a crush on Snape. Potions was his favorite class, even if he wasn't very good at it; he just liked to watch his professor.
Snape was always so serious. He would brood, looking very deep in thought, and Colin would wonder what it is that he was thinking about. Snape was also so intelligent, and Colin admired him a lot for that. And, although some students found it to be cruel, Colin was amused by Snape's sarcasm. He thought it was a little humorous, even.
Everything about Snape fascinated Colin.
Colin would spend the class time studying Professor Snape, thinking about what a great photograph he would make. Snape would look wonderful on film. His would be the kind of photograph you would pick up and wonder, "What kind of person is this man?" Colin wanted to capture that mystery.
Sometimes Snape would catch Colin in the middle of staring, and then he would say, just loud enough for Colin to hear, "Do your work, Creevy." Colin would feel his whole face go hot, and he knew he was blushing.
What Colin felt should have been obvious to everyone. But it wasn't. No one ever said anything about it. Why didn't anyone ever notice?
It's a mystery.
