Prologue

Heyhey! My name is Pheonix Greenleaf and I come from Nelson, New Zealand. I have no accent since, well, my mother come from Canada and my father from, well, how to put this, he comes from England, but has no accent... I am sixteen and I have a younger sister and an older brother. He was adopted when he was six and then my parents adopted me. They had my sister “naturally”. During her young years, it seemed as though my brother and I didn’t even exist anymore. As if we became invisible. I understand that we were adopted, but isn’t everyone equal in the end. My brother always told me that when they adopted me, they didn’t mind him too much either, but I never believed him whenever he said that to me to comfort me up! To tell you the truth, it doesn’t. My adoptive parents died in a fire accident. We never found them until, the police found them lying on a bench in the Central Park of New York. That is a really long way from home! They were found with circular formed marks on their wrists with a star in a pentagon. No one understood how they only had marks and no scratches or burns.

Chapter 1- Meeting

Phoenix’s P.O.V

This is going to be the first year that I am going to go to a boarding school. Right now I am on the plane going to Hogwarts, when a girl came running into my cabin.

Please, HIDE ME! She whispered to me.

Ya sure, hide under my bench, I told her calmly.

Thanks!

Then a mob of loving boys ran through the aisle screaming: “Come back, I will be a good boyfriend!’’ Once that noise disappeared towards the back, she came out and she looked at me with big watery eyes saying:

Thank you so much, how can I ever repay you?

No problemo, ummm…. Who are you?

Oh, oups, my bad! Hi, my name is Amethyst and you?

Oh, it’s Phoenix Greenleaf. You can call me Flame if you want.

You may call me Amy!

Then she sat down in front of me and stared at me. I could seriously say that I was freaked out! She started to mumble something incomprehensible. I am not an expert on the culture of the world, but I must of understood some German, Latin and Greek.

An old looking lady came by my aisle and startled Amy. She literally jumped out of her seat and fell on the floor. The lady looked at Amethyst giggling. Then she asked:

Would you ladies like a snack?

Sorry, I showed her my pockets that were empty.

I would like 10 chocolate frogs and 10 berty botts every flavored beans as well.

The lady and I stared at her with big eyes. Amy looked at us weirdly and asked what was wrong. Once the lady left, I asked her why she was staring at my before.

Well, you see, your eyes are quite uncommon. What color are they?

Well, it’s really complicated….. They change color, I am an al….

Right there, the plane speakers went on saying that we have arrived to our destination: Hogwarts. Everybody was running out of the plane. Amethyst was the only one hesitating. She looked at me and I understood right away. She was scared to go out. Then she looked outside and all the boys were excited to see her come out!

Are you okay? I asked

Do I look okay?

Right, okay well…. Ummm… how about na… how, na…

Anything, just not to be chased!

A big man barged in the tiny spot and told us that we had to get out. He was bigger and hairier than the norm. His mean face turned into a nice sweet face. Then he said:

Sorry if I scared you girls!

N-N-N-No p-p-p-p-problem, but who are you? We said in harmony.

Sorry. Name’s Hagrid.

I am Amethyst and this is, pointing at me, Pheonix.

Hiya, I said shily.

We told him, then, what was going on and he accepted to help, by hiding Amethyst in his big brown leather jacket. You saw all the boys were staying there in front of the entrance of the plane. They all fought to be first to see her. When the door wacked open, Hagrid came out and it seemed as though he gained 150 pounds in just 15 minutes! Everybody seemed puzzled until a girl came out. That girl was me. All the guys started to scream and then noticed it was not Amethyst, they became jittery, but no sreaming. That just ruined my fun….

Hagrid was a very good actor since no one suspected his gain. Once we were far from the plane, he undid is jacket and made Amethyst come out and she was so happy.
