Author of 5 Stories |
Okay guys...umm. I'm sorry it's been really really really long since i updated this story. I started working on yet another story, and it's very hard to juggle three stories at once. Not the smartest thing for me to do i guess, but i just had a whole bunch of great ideas. And of course, i'm pretty sure i said this earlier, and on my othe gs fic, i WILL NOT give up on this story. I have read so many stories on this site with no endings and i hate it. I can't do that to other people, so please remember no matter how long i t has been since my last update, i am still working on this. I've just become busy or something else has happened to cause me to leave this for a while.
Also, besides the fact that i have tons of stories in progress right now, i also had HUGE writers block for this chapter. So it is going to suck, and i apologize for that.
4-Flint
“It feels great to finally be out of that cold weather!” Lyn smiled at the sun, and stretched her arms.
“Come on now,” Mia said politely, “I don’t want to rush you all, but I have to admit, I’m very anxious to get to Vale.”
Sain smiled and rushed to Mia’s side on his incredible steed, “My dear, Mia, why don’t you take a seat beside me on my horse?” He reached out a hand to her, “It will keep you from getting too tired!”
Mia blushed, but shook her head, “No thank you Sain. I’m very comfortable walking.”
“Sain, please stop torturing the poor girl.” Rebecca joked, recalling the time that Sain had flirted with her…and every other girl in the large army they were once a part of.
Sain smiled down at Rebecca, “Why, Rebecca you know that you too are always welcome on my-”
Wil took a step closer to Rebecca with a smirk on his face. Sain smiled at Wil and turned his horse away from the two bow wielders, “Oh, I see.” He smirked. Rebecca giggled.
Mia giggled too, and turned to Lyn, “Is he always like this?”
Lyn laughed, “Yes. Don’t be offended, but every girl he meets receives those comments.”
Mia shook her head, “Don’t worry, I’m not.”
“Wait.” Eliwood stopped in his tracks with the map held in front of him, “How are we supposed to get to Vale?”
Mia laughed and snatched the map away, “You don’t need a map! I know the way!” she shoved the map into her bag, which now couldn’t hold even a stick it was so full.
“Are you sure?” Hector asked, not fully convinced by Mia’s sureness.
“Positive!” Mia smiled. She stepped in front of the whole group and began to lead the way she took each time she headed for Vale.
“Stop!” Eliwood cried. He reached forward and took Mia’s arm. He pulled her backwards and behind some trees. Shortly, the whole group was with them, including Kent and Sain’s horses and Florina’s Pegasus.
“What? What is it?” Mia asked in a very hushed voice.
Eliwood replied with a gesture of his finger in front of his mouth. Very quietly he whispered, “Look over there.” And pointed towards where they had once been standing. A group of about ten creatures maybe half of their size stood sniffing.
Mia almost burst out laughing. She let out a few giggles before stepping out of the trees.
“What are you doing!” Eliwood reached out to grab her and pull her back in until the creatures had disappeared.
Mia didn’t reply. She calmly walked towards the creatures and did some odd hand movements. Then a rush of water splashed over the monsters, which ran away making their odd-sounding calls.
“Whoa!” Sain rushed out on his horse and stopped next to Mia, “Beautiful and strong, you are truly magnificent my dear!”
Mia frowned and blushed, “…Thank you?” She said as if she wasn’t sure she should be thanking him or not.
“How did you do that!?” Hector fired the question at her.
“Do what?”
“You know what! You just drenched those things in water! Are you a water sage or something?”
Mia raised her eyebrows, “Not exactly.”
“Well then,” Lyn didn’t often pressure people into answering questions, but she too was very curious as to what just happened, “What was that…?”
Mia shook her head and turned back towards the direction they had been heading in before she was dragged into the trees, “It would be much easier if I explained it to you in Vale.”
Everyone who stood behind her exchanged looks and shrugged their shoulders. If they wanted to understand what had just happened, they knew they had to follow her.
“So…how much longer?” Nils, the crimson eyed boy near the back of the group asked.
Mia didn’t turn around to answer, but her voice showed how cheerful of a mood she was in, “Look.” She pointed ahead, “Just beyond that small forest is a cave. After we get through the cave, which should only take until when the sun begins to set this evening, we can rest up for the night. Then we should make it to Vale by the end of the day tomorrow.”
It didn’t take long to get to the small forest and through it. The cave was clearly longer than the first one they had gone through. It was darker, and had a more eerie vibe to it. Everyone sort of stayed close to someone else, except for Mia. She just walked into the cave like it wasn’t a big deal at all.
“You guys, trust me, this is completely safe.” Mia said, looking behind herself, “I have been through here tons of times by myself.”
“Umm…are there…bats in here?” Florina asked. She sat very uncomfortably on her Pegasus, clinging to its mane.
Mia shrugged, “Maybe.” She heard two of the girls gasps, “But they won’t come out if our group is this big.” The gasps were replaced with sighs of relief.
There was a sudden movement in the shadows of the cave. “What was that?” Eliwood held out an arm to halt everyone who was walking behind him, his other arm held a tight grip on the hilt of his blade.
Mia was the only person ahead of Eliwood. She frowned and took a step closer to where the movement was. She narrowed her eyes at the shadows. There it was again. Something was definitely there. Mia didn’t hesitate to move even closer, she had a hand held up, perhaps to use more of the strange power they had used earlier. Then, out of the shadows, a small type creature flew out, and Mia’s face suddenly began to brighten up.
“Flint!” She took the creature into her hands and pulled it closer to herself. “What are you doing in here!?”
“Isaac sent me!” The creature replied in a very high voice.
Hector took one large step towards Mia. He looked at the creature with a very curious look, then he slowly put his hand towards it. His two fingers reached down onto the creature as he pinched one of it’s ears to lift it to his eye level. “What is it?”
Mia gasped at Hector. She quickly took the creature back into her hands, giving Hector a nasty look, “He’s a Djinn. And don’t pick him up like that!” She looked as if she was cradling the Djinn. “Now, Flint, why did Isaac send you?”
Flint sat comfortably in Mia’s hands, looking exhausted, “He wanted me to tell you that they need you! They have a girl!” Flint peered over Mia’s fingers, “And she’s dressed like them.”
Mia shot a glance at the group behind her. Before she could reply, Eliwood already began.
“Do you know her name? What did she look like?” He asked.
Flint yawned and laid back down in Mia’s hands, “Serra.” He managed to say before he fell into a sleep.
