Chap 1: The New Generation, and the New Ninja

All was quiet in the Village Hidden in the Leaves, with the sun shining bright and the people and ninjas all going about their day. Soon however that silence was shattered by an angry yell that seemed to echo across the village. “Get back here you little brats!” an angry Chunin shouted as he and two other ninjas chased after three 12 year olds running down the streets. The three kids where running one in front of the other, and where all carrying buckets of paint. The farthest back was a blonde haired boy with a short ponytail and was wearing black pants and a grey vest with the Nara clan symbol on it. He sighed as he muttered about something being troublesome and kept in pace with his friends. In front of him was a boy with short pink hair and wearing tan shorts with a blue shirt that had the Uchiha clan symbol on it. He was laughing mischievously as he ran ahead of the three ninja chasing after him. In front of him was who appeared to be the leader of the trio. She had spiky blonde, which was tied into a long and spiky pony tail. She also had the pale pupil less eyes that was normally associated with the Hyuuga clan, and was wearing all orange clothes.

“Kushina Namikaze, Saito Uchiha, and Shinji Nara! You three have gone too far this time!” the angry Chunin screamed. “Come on you guys call yourselves Chunin, you can’t even keep up with us” Kushina said. “Yeah besides the Hokage Mountain looks better that way” Saito shouted causing everyone around them to look up. The Hokage Mountain was a massive mountain that held the six faces of the Hokages that had ruled the Hidden Leaf Village. However all six faces had crude and childish drawings on them and it appeared that the Rokudaime’s face had been messed up the most. “You three are dead! I don’t care who your parents!” the Chunin said as he sped up after the three kids. “Oh great! This is too troublesome” Shinji said as he sped past Saito.

Meanwhile within the Hokage Tower the secretary to the Hokage was running frantically to his office. Meogi, a special Jonin who had served the Hokage as his secretary for 6 years now ran to his office doors and opened them. “Lord Hokage, Lord Hokage” she cried as she entered the office. The 6th Hokage of the Hidden leaf village was standing at his window looking at the mayhem currently occurring in his village. He was dressed in his white and red formal robes and he had his spiky blonde hair tied into a medium length pony tail. Naruto Namikaze sighed and said, “Let me guess, it’s Kushina, Saito and Shinji again right.” Meogi nodded sheepishly as Naruto sat down at his desk and sighed in annoyance. “Look we both know that there are only three people who can stop them. Have them notified immediately” he said.

Suddenly a loud and enraged scream seemed to echo across Konoha and appeared to have come from the Hospital. Meogi looked surprised and Naruto just seemed to have been annoyed by the yell. “Um Lord Hokage, I think it is fair to say that they have been notified” Meogi said. Meanwhile back on the streets the three Chunin looked around in anger as they had lost sight of the three troublemakers. “Wait until I get my hands on those brats” one of them said. “How can they be so fast and able to hide?” another asked. “Well considering who their parents are it’s no surprise” the third one said. The three ninja ran down the street and as they did a covering on the wall fell to reveal Kushina, Saito, and Shinji.

“Ha what a bunch of losers” Kushina said confidently. “This is so troublesome guys; can we just get back to class?” Shinji asked. “Why Shinji it’s like anyone can ever catch us” Saito said confidently. “Oh yeah is that a fact?” a very angry and annoyed voice asked from behind the three students. Kushina, Saito, and Shinji all cringed and slowly turned around together to come face to face with the three women they all feared the most. All three women where ninja, and all three looked either very annoyed or very angry as they glared at three kids.

Shinji was looking up at a lovely blonde haired woman with a strong athletic build and her hair tied into a long pony tail. She was dressed in an ANBU outfit and wore her Boar mask to the side so Shinji could see the anger in her eyes. The shoulder boards on her uniform indicated she was a Captain and he styled sword also indicated her high rank. In fact Ino Nara had changed very little in appearance since her Genin and Chunin years but had matured greatly. Saito was shaking in absolute fear as he stared up at the woman in the middle. She was about an inch shorter then Ino and was wearing a fashioned red ninja kimono. She had short pink hair and green eyes that where currently furrowed into a furious glare. Her won rank badges indicated she was the Head of the Medical Division, as well as the Director of Konoha General Hospital.

Sakura Uchiha, the feared and renown Slug Sannin, had also changed little in appearance but mostly in maturity, and skill. At the moment she held her clenching fist in the air as if trying to restrain herself from throttling Saito. Finally Kushina was looking up at the final woman who was dressed in the green vest, and chain mesh shirt, and blue pants of a full ranked Jonin. Like Kushina she had pale pupil less eyes inherited from the Hyuuga Clan. Her long flowing midnight blue hair seemed to reflect in the sun and she seemed to look more disappointed than angry. Hinata Namikaze was no longer the shy and nervous girl she was a Genin and Chunin. Now she was a powerful and highly respected kunoichi not just because of her husband and clan, but also because of her own personal skill.

Kushina, Saito, and Shinji sighed together and in a single voice said together, “Hi Kaa-san.” Sakura suddenly got in Saito’s face and yelled, “Don’t you Hi Kaa-san us you ungrateful little punks. I had to be called out of a board meeting for this!” Ino suddenly reached down and grabbed Shinji by his shirt and hoisted him into the air. “I was just about to leave for an A-ranked mission and then suddenly the Commander walks up to me and tells me I’m needed to catch my own son. Now tell me how that should make me feel?” she asked. Shinji sighed for a moment and then said,”Troubleso-“Ino cut him off with a very nasty glare and said “If you value your life you will not finish that word.”

Saito saw Sakura was glaring at Shinji and decided to try and sneak away. However as he started to crawl away, without looking Sakura’s hand suddenly shot down and twisted his ear painfully. “And where do you think you’re going?” she asked as she turned to him. “Um back to class Kaa-san” he said in a sheepish manner. Sakura suddenly smiled a bit and said, “Okay fine, then you wouldn’t mind me escorting you there to make sure you actually get back there.” “Meep!” Saito said as Sakura literally dragged him back to the academy by his ear with Ino walking behind her carrying Shinji over her shoulder. Seeing her friend’s leave Kushina looked back up at Hinata who was tapping her foot impatiently still waiting for an answer. “Well?” Hinata finally asked.

“Well what?” Kushina asked. “Are you even going to try and justify what you did?” Hinata asked. Kushina looked annoyed and then said, “What would be the point, your already going to punish me.” Hinata suddenly smiled at Kushina and said, “That’s right.” Suddenly with the speed and grace of a trained ninja, Hinata jumped on Kushina and tackled her. As Kushina struggled Hinata pulled out a rope and hog tied Kushina. “Aaaaah! Kaa-san what are you doing?” Kushina asked. Hinata smiled down at Kushina and started to drag her with the rope towards the now defaced monument. “I’m taking you to clean up your mess as punishment” she said. “But that will take me all day alone!” Kushina said in shock. “Then I suggest you stop complain and get to work” Hinata said with a smile.

Back at the Ninja academy the next graduating class was receiving their final lesson before their Genin test tomorrow. The Instructor was a Chunin with the strong dark features of the Uchiha clan and had long hair that was a purple color. He wore a green Chunin vest with blue pants and matching sandals and had glasses on his face. Ryuu Uchiha was the first born son of the clan since the Massacre by Itachi and it warming to the villagers when he was born to his father, former clan leader Inu Uchiha. He was going over the proper use chakra and Genjutsu when suddenly Shinji Nara, and Saito Uchiha came flying though open windows as if they had been kicked or thrown. The landed into the class room together with some hard thuds. “Glad you two could join us” Ryuu said as the class erupted into laughter as the two picked themselves up.

At the Hokage Monument Kushina was cleaning up the graffiti as Hinata watched her from down below. “If you go at this pace you’ll never get down” Hinata called down to her. “Well I don’t have exactly have a lot of motivation Kaa-san” Kushina called back as she started to clean the face of the Sandaime. Hinata looked down at Kushina for a minute then said, “Kushina listen if you finish before sundown, how about I take out to Ichiraku ramen for dinner. Your father will be working late tonight so how does that sound?” she asked. “Ramen! Yeah!” Kushina said as she quickly began to clean again. Soon near down she ha finished and she and Hinata where eating Ramen together at the famous Raman bar. Kushina was eating her third bowl as Hinata watched her smiling, “She’s definitely your daughter Naruto-kun” she thought. As Kushina finished eating Hinata then asked, “Kushina I want to know why you’re always pulling pranks? You’re the Hokage’s daughter you shouldn’t be doing these things.” Kushina looked up at her mother and then said, “Well it’s because of Tou-san I have to act like this.”

Hinata looked surprised by what she said but continued to listen to her daughter. “People always look at me and call me the honorable daughter of the great 6th Hokage. They only see me because of who my father is and I don’t want that. I want them to see me for me” Kushina explained as she pouted a little. Hinata looked down at her caringly and asked, “Would you feel better if your father wasn’t the Hokage?” Kushina quickly shook her head and said, “No Kaa-san, I’m proud of Tou-san and I’m honored to be his daughter. But when I pull pranks I get the attention I earn not the attention my Tou-san earned.” Hinata nodded and smiled as she felt the presence of a shadow clone vanish from the trees behind her and Kushina.

Back in the Hokage’s Tower, Naruto was signing a new budget proposal when the information from his shadow clone returned to him. He sighed as he set down his pen and paper and removed his Hokage’s hat. He leaned back as he thought about Kushina’s words as Meogi walked into the office with some tea. “Lord Hokage I made some tea for you. My Lord are you okay?” she asked. Naruto looked up at Meogi and then asked, “Meogi am I good father?” Meogi seemed surprised by the question but smiled at Naruto. “Naruto your daughter loves you with all her heart, I can see it every time your with her. She looks at you with admiration and pride that only a daughter can have for her father. But she wants to have her own name and legacy and probably feels tied down because of your own” she said. Naruto sighed in relive and smiled as he sipped the tea that Meogi had brought out.

Later back at the Mansion that served as the Hokage residence, Kushina was up in her room and was studying for her exam tomorrow. However she felt it really wasn’t necessary as she was already the top kunoichi in the class. As she heard her door open she turned around and saw her father standing there in formal orange robes. She turned to face him and asked, “Are you here to punish me now?” Naruto shook his head and said, “I’m not going to punish you and I’m not going to chide you. Your mother has done enough of that.” He then walked over and sat down next to her. “Look Kushina I know how you feel, I really do. I can understand that you feel that people only acknowledge you because of me and what I’ve done. But I want you to know that you will make a name for yourself” he said. Kushina listened carefully to her father and smiled as he talked.

“Find a dream and a goal. Fight to attain it and you will have the recognition you want” he said as he smiled at her. Kushina then stood up and hugged Naruto tightly. Naruto kissed her forehead and then said, “Get some sleep because tomorrow you have an important test to take” he said. Kushina nodded and got into bed eventually. Naruto turned and left her as she fell asleep after a long and trying day.

The next day

Ryuu Uchiha was meeting with Naruto in the Hokage office after completing the Genin exams. “So we have a full class of graduates this year?” Naruto asked as he was writing on a paper. “Yes my Lord, the top shinobi was Saito Uchiha, and the top kunoichi was Kushina Namikaze” Ryuu answered. “Good then. I have formed the teams I feel are best and I have assigned proper instructors and team leaders” Naruto said as he handed the list to Ryuu. Ryuu read the list but he gasped when he came to Team 8. “My Lord are you sure you want to assign “her” as a Jonin Instructor” he asked. “Oh is there something wrong with her?” Naruto asked as he smiled at Ryuu. “Well sir she isn’t as young as she used to be and she is a little eccentric” Ryuu said. Naruto was about to answer when he stopped as someone entered the office. “So what you’re saying is that I’m too old and crazy to be a Jonin instructor right?” a voice said. Ryuu froze at hearing that voice and slowly turned around stared at the very person he was just talking to Naruto about. His own mother, Anko Uchiha.

Anko was now in her mid forties and was a full ranked Jonin. She wore the standard issue outfit of a green vest and a blue body outfit. She had let her hair down and it had grown to her shoulders. She walked up to Ryuu who was shaking in fear of her and she cupped his chin. “Because you’re my son and I love you, I’ll let that comment slide. Next time though I’ll feed you to my snakes, got it Ryuu” she said in a sweet but still scary sounding voice. Ryuu nodded and said, “Understood Kaa-san.” Anko then smiled to the Hokage and asked, “So tell me, what are the brat’s names?”

Ha ha ha ha ha! I’m back ladies. Come now my fans you knew I had to do a sequel. Don’t worry about the shortness of this chapter as I’ll be back with some old faces and new ones as we continue along this new story.
