Chapter 2

“Wow that’s a surprise, Yuki and Kiryu haven’t fallen asleep in class…yet.” Yori said with a smirk.

“I’m just as surprised as you are, really more with Yuki.” Zero leaned against the tree.

“Hey! You fall asleep just as much as I so!” exclaimed Yuki, glaring at Zero.

“Yea, but you’re the one always getting caught.” Zero sighed.

Yuki pouted and looked away from her friends.

“Aw come on Kiryu-kun be nice to Yuki-chan.” smiled Jaden, patting Yuki’s shoulder.

Yuki looked back at the three and smiled. The bell rang, ending lunch period and the group stood, gathering their trash.

“Aw, math is next why can’t it be something else.” whined Yuki.

Yori shook her head “What like a nap period?”

“Yea! That would be great!” Yuki exclaimed.

Zero, Yori and Jaden shook their heads at Yuki. The brown haired girl gave a sheepish smile and rubbed the back of her neck.

(Later)

“So prefect duties again Yuki-chan?” asked Jaden, leaning on Yuki’s desk.

“Yea…ugh why do I have to go though this every day?” Yuki buried her face in her arms.

“Hey your not the only one.” Zero said, stopping next to the two girls.

“So you didn’t ditch me…yet.” Yuki said with a small, sarcastic, surprised gasp.

Zero rolled his eyes and walked away, Yuki giggled once he was gone.

“You like him.” Jaden said in a sing-song voice.

“Do not!” Yuki exclaimed, she stood quickly, slamming her hands on the desk, face bright red.

“Uh-huh, sure.” Jaden gave Yuki a small smirk.

Yuki mumbled something, the blush growing; Jaden giggled and gathered her books before heading out the door.

“You better hurry Yuki-chan, the girls are gathering!” Jaden called.

Jaden heard a loud moan of annoyance from Yuki, she laughed and walked outside. Yuki ran past Jaden, the piercing sound of her whistle echoing off the courtyard walls.

“Hey back up!” she yelled as she ran to the girls.

Jaden shook her head and opened her book, reading while walking towards the Sun Dorm gate.

(That Night)

Yuki sat on the edge of the wall of the balcony, her hair blown back by the wind. She looked over to Zero who sat on the ground, deep in thought.

“Zero…are you alright?” Yuki leaned forward slightly, looking at him carefully.

“Yea, just thinking.” replied Zero, not looking at Yuki.

“About what?” Yuki tilted her head.

“It’s nothing” Zero sighed running a hand through his hair.

Yuki jumped from the wall and kneeled in front of Zero. She brushed his hair out of his face and looked at him.

“About what?” Yuki asked again, her voice insisting he tell her.

“It’s…nothing.” Zero repeated slowly, in an annoyed tone.

Yuki looked at Zero’s face, focusing on his eyes. She could see a pain in his eyes, a hunger the hurt him badly.

“You’re hungry, aren’t you?” Yuki sighed resting her hands on top of Zero’s head. “Can you wait till the Night Classes are over?”

Zero looked at her, he was about to protest but Yuki cut him off.

“Don’t say a thing Zero.” Yuki sighed but smiled sweetly at him.

Zero looked at her, he stood and walked past her into the school. With another sighed, Yuki leaned on the balcony wall, watching Zero walk away.
