Fade to Black
There was no moment for thought, no time for consideration. She could only see blurs of the painful fight occurring before her eyes. She reached out calling for help sending all the protection she had to him.
Orihime closed her eyes as she rejected in front of her…to Ichigo. The shield she created held back Ulquiorra’s attack. It shattered the protection she had around herself.
She was now vulnerable.
She trembled as Ulquiorra turned his head toward her, his eyes sternly gazing into hers. They were dead, silent, upset.
She had upset him again.
Ulquiorra moved toward her. Before Orihime had a moment to step away his face was right in front of her. They threatened her with fear. Orihime held her pride and continued to look at him, to show him she was not afraid. She could not help but shake.
He could feel the heat between them. Her warm temperature slightly touched his cold skin. He inhaled lightly the smell of fresh shortcakes and strawberries.
“Hmm…” he said as he examined the women.
Orihime’s eyes were wide in fear. She swallowed back her terror and pursed her lips together.
“You think…” he started slightly tilting his head to the side, “because you have that ability you can stop me?”
Her eyes fell and landed at his open chest where Ichigo’s zanpakuto had tried to damage. The prominent 4 marked on it told her just how insignificant she was against him. There was no winning for her.
The Cuarto reached his cold thin finger toward the women. Orihime watched as it gradually made its way to her face. Before he could touch her warm, blood filled, lustrous skin, Ichigo shouted behind him.
“Don‘t touch her!” He growled, “Don‘t you ever touch her!”
His hand stopped an inch away from her skin. He turned to look at Ichigo, “Oh? Are you trying to give me orders, Kurosaki Ichigo?” He let his finger rest against her cheek.
Orihime cringed from the coldness but she did not resist it.
“It‘s only fair.” Ulquiorra said, “She had once touched my face.”
Ichigo did not understand but he charged at Ulquiorra, “I said don‘t touch her!”
Ulquiorra created a cero from the tip of his finger that he aimed at his enemy.
The Cuarto turned back to the women. His finger fell from her face but reached for her waist. He pulled her body toward him feeling her hot tension forming around his usual cold exterior.
He swiftly moved away with her.
Ichigo dodged the attack. He ran toward where Ulquiorra had stood with Orihime but found no one there.
Orihime felt the slight pressure that Ulquiorra pushed against her while he quickly moved her to a new destination with him. She looked wide eyed at the Cuarto, her hand gripped on his ripped top. His composure remained the same, his eyes stern.
He was the only thing in her sight as he hauled her away… everything else around her faded to black.
