Tainted Love

This is for the music shuffle drabble challenge on the PC forum (check it out and try some of your own!). I hope you enjoy them and leave feedback.

Title: Always Searching

Character: Livvie Locke

Song: “I’ll Be” - Edwin McCain

Livvie wants someone’s shoulder to bolster her up when she feels weak. She wants a shoulder to cry on and a hand to steady her when she’s about to fall.

So many times she thought she had found that but was always wrong. She needs someone to save her and there is no one with strength enough for that huge of an undertaking.

She wants someone to love her unconditionally. She doesn’t need a fan base - just one person to say they care. That would have been her father in the past but he’s dead …

Livvie needs something to hold onto.

She’s searching for something but she’s not exactly sure what. Her purpose in life seems to have alluded her or at least passed her completely by. She wants to be good but being bad is so much easier. She wants to be pure of heart but knows better than to pretend that she is anymore.

When her father died, she lost a part of her self forever. He was her most faithful supporter and now she’s lost without him.

She’s searching for a place to call her own but she feels she will never find one. Maybe its time she picks up and leaves this one Starbucks town forever. Maybe she can find what she’s looking for in some other town, in the arms of someone who will love her forever. That’s what she’s searching for.

Title: “Taste of Innocence”

Character: Caleb Morley

She was the last person he would have thought he could ever be drawn to. Or become obsessed with, but there it was. That familiar aching at the back of his throat. She was so beautiful with those big blue eyes and her silky blonde hair that beckoned to be touched. She was so innocent and he is drawn to that. He’s dark, she’s light. A powerful, combustible connection.

Of course there is the other woman in his life. The brunette with the fire in her eyes and the stormy temper. He has conquered her already, brought her down and corrupted her forever. He loves her and he always has. Their love is eternal. And yet …

There’s that innocence in the blonde that still calls out to him. He wants to taste her, touch her, devour her, and possess her innocence. He wants it all. She makes it hard to think about the woman he pledged his undying soul to because of her sweetness. He imagines her blood tastes like nectar and the most scandalous sin. He wants to have her. He wants to own her.

One day he will and when that day comes, he won’t have to ask for her because what he wants, he just takes.

Title: “Never Enough”

Characters: Jack Ramsey and Livvie Locke

Song: “Faraway” by Nickleback

He missed her. He missed her all the time actually, but what they had was supposed to be over. He knew he should move on but he yet there was some invisible force pulling him back into the past when they were happy together. He longed to touch that silky black hair once more and stare into those dark mocha eyes. He wanted to see those eyes go even darker with hunger for him but they ceased to do so a long time ago.

She had given her soul to another, in every way, someone who didn’t deserve her and could never appreciate her the way he had - and still did.

He had loved her since the day she stormed into his life, and took it and turned it upside down and backwards and forwards.

He was just glad that he could see her every once in awhile when they passed each other in the dark of night. Still, she might as well be millions of light-years away for all their “closeness” and sometimes he wondered if she even remembered what they had once shared. Wondered if she remembered once saying that he was her soul mate, always and forever.

But the days when they had a connection and shared one dream and goal were long away, far away …

Title: “How To Deal”

Characters: Alison Barrington and Jamal Woods

Song: “Even Angels Fall” - Jessica Riddle

She was his Spunky. His soul mate if he ever believed in such stupid, far-fetched things. She was the love he didn’t ever think he would want or need.

She had broken him, though, but only after he had broken her first. Payback was a bitch and all that …

He would crawl back to her on his hands and knees if he thought it would make a difference. But he knew better. She had an angel now. A true angel in every way. He was smart, and he was perfect, and strong and stalwart. He was everything that Jamal himself wasn’t.

She knew it too and she had picked the man who could lift her to heavenly heights in the most literal way. Jamal knew she was now a pipe dream to him and it hurt like the bloodiest knife wound to know she was never going to be in his arms again, that she was never again going to whisper his name in the dark of night.

But of course Jamal never told anyone the way he felt, because he had learned long ago that talking about how you feel just got you into trouble. He had lost it all and he would just have to deal with it. That was all he had ever done in his life anyway - just cope and deal.

He had stopped fighting the system and just gave into the beatings of life.

Title: Inevitable

Characters: Eve Lambert and Ian Thornhart

Song: “Your Winter” - Sister Hazel

Ian was remorseful for the way he had hurt Eve, for the way he had broken her down piece by piece until she barely resembled herself anymore. He had stolen her away from her first husband with promises of a life full of love and happiness, all of the promises which he had broken before their first year of marriage was even through.

He sometimes looked at her picture on the mantle and felt film tears his eyes, knowing that he had driven her away, too far away to ever get her back now. She had once believed in love - even in her highly cynical way- and now she knew pain and loss, all courtesy of him.

He still loved her though. Thoughts of the way she felt in his arms were the only thing that kept him warm through the long winter nights since she had gone.

She had recently married a man who had been there all along in the background and Ian felt like he had been a placeholder until the inevitable happened. Until he inevitably messed up and threw away the best thing that had ever happened to him.

Title: “Broken Love”

Characters: Kevin and Eve Collins

Song: “Cruel to Be Kind” - Letters to Cleo

Sometimes he is so much like his twin brother that he scares her. He says and does things that only Ryan Chamberlin could. She never met Ryan but of course she has heard the stories. He was psychotic, vicious and downright evil. Kevin’s intensity sometimes downright terrifies her but she tries so hard to write it off as his deep , undying love for her.

And he really does love her, in his own twisted sort of way. His soul was cankered from such a young age. Or maybe he was corrupted from before birth, sharing the same womb as his maniacal brother. Maybe he was inherently evil.

But that doesn’t stop him from loving her with an intensity that could break them both for good.

Title: Larger-Than-Life

Character: Lucy Coe

Song: Tell Me Something - Selena Gomez

From a young age, Lucy was told that she would never amount to much and that just made her more determined to make something of herself - to make a big statement, a big splash. So she wore bright red dresses and seduced married men and pretended to be happy with it all. She was larger-than-life on the outside but so small and shattered inside.

Title “There Were Others But None of Them Were Her”

Character: Scott Baldwin

She was that girl. The girl. The only one in his life for so long. The girl who called him Scotty and had been his first wife - the love of his life. When she had willfully chosen to be with the man - no, the monster - who had defiled her and broke apart their life together, he had lost his soul. He had sought solace in the arms of woman after woman and never found what he wanted. Sure he had loved some of them - some more than others - but none were the blonde, blue-eyed girl he saw in his dreams every night. None of them were his Laura.

My father was never around to save me. He was never around for me period. Sure you could say that he didn’t know about me but he never wanted to be apart of my life even after he learned the truth. He never wanted to take me in his arms and tell me everything was going to be okay. The way that he did for Serena and even Christina. But never for me, never for his firstborn.

Maybe he knew all along it was too late to save me.

For a long time, Julie had no idea who she was. Was she a brilliant surgeon or just the daughter of one? Was she psychotic like everyone seemed to think she was or was as she just a complicated woman? Who was she?

She never knew until she held her little girl for the first time. And then the last time before she had to walk away. She knew when she held her girl who she was. She was a mother. She was always meant to be Christina’s mother. She was also strong, as she was weak, and she was poor, as she was rich. She was just Julie.
