Well, I probably shouldn't be doing this but do you know how rare the Kankuro/Sasuke pairing is? I think it's cute though.

Puppet

Sasuke has always been amazed by puppets. The way they moved, the way the strings worked, it all caught his attention in ways that nothing else could. He's been hooked since Itachi took him to a puppet show when he was young.

But the masters of the puppets always made him nervous, since they seemed to enjoy making the puppet's lives miserable. Sure, the puppets were not real people, but no one should get joy out of others misery.

But then he meet Kankuro Sabaku. At first, he seemed like all the other puppet masters. But Sasuke was just as fascinated by him as he was the puppets he controlled. He was never sure why. Until he saw the way Kankuro acted after having his puppets destroyed. The raw emotion and sadness that enveloped the older boy captivated him.

Sasuke became more obsessed over time, and he offered to help Kankuro fix his puppets. While every one around them stared in shock that the quiet cynical boy was actually offering, the puppet master gave him a sharp look and snorted. “Kid, I don't need anybodies help fixing my puppets.” He said, smirking slightly as he turned back to the puppet he was cradling gently.

Sasuke hadn't let anything show at that moment, but the rejection tore him up. He didn't like the thought of any puppet being destroyed so ruthlessly, and he wanted to fix them. But he knew it was a matter of pride for the older boy.

Instead, he set about another way to get his attention. Every moment he had free he was carefully creating a new puppet. Sasuke knew he could never breathe life into it himself, but he also knew that Kankuro could. When he presented the puppet to the puppet master, he had looked at him in suspicion. But his eyes roomed over the puppet and showed how impressed he was by the work, making Sasuke glow with pride. “Nice work kid.” Kankuro said, sounding as if he didn't care.

Slowly, the two started getting closer, and Sasuke started learning things about the puppets he was so fascinated by, and their master who was slowly stealing his heart. Kankuro was everything he normally hated, but he couldn't find it within himself the break things off with the older boy.

One day, while they were simply lazing around, Kankuro looked at him and pulled him closer, smiling slightly. “I like you kid.” was all he said, before pulling him into a dominating kiss.

The two became inseparable after that, and every one could see that the two were happy with each other. Sasuke gained the approval of Kankuro's siblings, and Itachi seemed to like the puppet master. Sasuke couldn't have been happier.

But some weren't happy with their relationship. White eyes watched with contempt, and one day the two arrived home to find all of the puppets destroyed beyond repair. Kankuro fell into depression, and Sasuke did everything he could to stop the other from drowning.

But it wasn't enough. And the puppet master soon joined his puppets, leaving the raven haired boy alone. Sasuke took to holding the one puppet that hadn't gotten destroyed, the one that started their friendship and eventual relationship. Sasuke became like the puppets that he loved, only going through the motions of each day without his master to give him feeling.

When Itachi and Temari, worried about the younger boy, came over one day, they found his dead body, and the note that said 'A puppet needs his master'.
