E/O Drabble Challenge: wrench

Sam’s lanky frame causes him to fall over the banister instead of into it.

Dean grabs his wrist, tight, as Sam returns the favor, barely constrained fear in both their eyes.

Dean’s shoulder gives a loud wrench, a healing sprain becomes a dislocation. Blood runs down his chin as he bites through his lip, pulling Sam slowly but surely back onto land.

Dean trembles with pain, exhaustion, and adrenaline. Sam takes his brother’s arm, slings it over his shoulders, and takes the brunt of Dean’s weight.

They’re brothers, and carrying that responsibility will always be harder then carrying each other.
