“C’mon Kenta.” Pein prodded me.
“But Oniisama…” I begged quietly. “Why can’t you keep home schooling me? It’s worked so far…”
“Kenta…” Pein put a hand on my shoulder. “I can afford to send you to school now. And you have time to start high school as a freshman. You can a degree higher then I ever did and probably get into a collage.” He grinned. “Besides. I have a better job and will be able to support the rest of your school.”
“But you already work all day…” I sighed under my breath.
“Kenta…” Pein looked sad.
“I’m sorry…” I sighed and shrugged. “I’ll give school a shot…”
“Then I’ll have to drive you before your late.” Pein got in our old, used, black car and I joined him in the passenger seat.
--
“Wait for me back at this door after school and I’ll pick you up.” Pein instructed as we walked into the school.
I examined the empty halls and light green lockers. The walls were made of concrete and painted gold. The floor was made of a cheap walkway or some kind of polished rock. The walls were considerably large, but I felt pretty jammed anyway. I looked up at Pein unsurely.
He laughed and led me to a room.
I poked my head in the room and looked around. I had never seen so many kids my age before in my life. They ran around and laughed and some even pushed one kid into a window. He was a blond with his hair a little past his shoulder blades. (Longer then mine.) and some it was held in a ponytail. Some of his hair was combed over his left eye. He wore a dark red sleeveless shirt with black cargo pants and black fingerless gloves. His hair was held with a red band.
I looked at my black pants, sleeveless black shirt, black belt over the shirt and fingerless net gloves. He dressed similarly to me. Kind of gothy and punk.
Pein came over to a woman at the head of the class. She had purple hair held in a hip up-do and brown eyes. Her clothes were a white shirt, brown pants and a long red jacket over that. She sat on her chair at the teachers desk and had her feet on the table. Looking bored and watching over the kids boredly.
“What can I do for ya?” The woman took her feet off the table and grinned.
“My younger sister, Kenta Akatsuki is a new student and should be shown around.” Pein explained and pushed me forward.
I blinked and looked at the woman.
“Say no more.” The woman waved a hand. “I’ll take good care of her.” She pulled out a slip of the paper. “The name’s Anko if you have anything to ask about her or the grades call this number or contact me on this web site.”
“Thank you.” Pein nodded and hugged me goodbye. I waved silently to him as he walked out the door.
“Hey there Kenta.” Anko grinned and shook my hand. “You can call me Anko-sensei and if you need anything just ask, kay?”
I nodded silently.
Anko handed me a slip of paper with a number on it. 363.
“That’s your locker number. Ask any of the students if you have trouble finding it.” Anko explained.
I nodded again.
“Heh heh.” She laughed. “You sure are quiet.” Anko waved her hands. “OI CLASS!! SHUT UP FOR A SEC!!”
Everyone stopped talking and the kid against the wall was let go of. He hit the floor and glared very angrily at the boy who had bullied him.
Anko took me to the front of class and held me for everyone to see. Like some prize.
“This is our new student Kenta Akatsuki.” She introduced. “Be nice to her and try to get along.” She paused. “If you can!”
The class looked at me for a moment. It was a bit awkward. Then they all ignored me and went back to talking. The blond kid got up and came to a desk in the back.
“Why don’t you go sit next to Deidara back there? I think there’s a free seat.” Anko pointed to a seat next to the blond kid.
I looked it over and made my way to the back of class, thankful I didn’t have to sit in the front.
I sat at the desk and looked around. The blond kid had his head on his desk and was playing with something on his lap.
After a few seconds I decided to calm myself down a little. I reached into my shoulder bag and pulled out my drawing book and pencil.
I looked around decided to draw the classroom.
I used the ruler to make straight lines and sketched the face of some kids goofing off. Like this white haired kid with lots of hair gel and a black haired boy with a long ponytail and real short haired blond girl with dull green eyes and lots of green makeup. She looked like the black haired kid’s girlfriend.
“Hey.” Someone called to me.
I looked up at the blond kid next to me. He was looking at my drawing.
“That’s cool. Hmm?” He pointed to it. “You like art?”
“Yeah.” I nodded.
“So do I.” He pulled out a sculpture of a bird. It was really good.
“Yours is really good too.” I complimented.
“Thanks.” The blond boy grinned and stuck out his hand. “My name’s Deidara Bakudanma.”
I took his hand and shook it. “I’m Kenta Akatsuki.”
“You’re new here right?” Deidara cocked his head to the side. “What school are you from?”
“I have been home schooled.” I explained.
“For real?” Deidara raised his eye brow. “Do you know the stuff we’re learning, Hmm?”
I nodded. “My brother taught me everything.”
“That’s cool.” Deidara grinned.
Suddenly the kid with all the hair gel came up to me. He had magenta eyes and his white hair was sleeked back with all that gel. He wore an open grey shirt that showed off his chest with dark blue jeans and a wrist chain. I wondered if he was cold it was late spring. I had come in late to school. It would probably start snowing soon.
“So who might this cutie be?” He flirted and touched my shoulder.
I pushed his hand away and glared at him from over my shoulder.
“Leave her alone Hidan. Hmm!” Deidara crossed his arms and growled at the boy. “She’s not interested.”
“I believe that’s her choice, Deidara-chan.” Hidan grinned. Deidara growled at the nickname.
Hidan came up to me and put an arm around my shoulder. I looked at him strangely.
“So…ya wanna come to my place later and have a little fun?” He flirted.
I pushed his arm off my shoulder again and looked him in the eye. “I’m not interested.”
Hidan laughed. “Heh heh…We’ll see.” And he walked back to his group.
Deidara sighed and leaned back on his chair. “That’s Hidan Jashinsuko.” He explained. “The most popular kid in school.” Deidara pointed a group of kids surrounding him.
“Some of the kids in our homeroom are all of his possie…Hmm?” Deidara explained. He pointed to the kid with the black ponytail. He had marks on his cheeks that made him look a bit older. He had black eyes and a look of boredom on his face. He wore a dark blue long sleeve shirt with jeans and purple nailpolish. “That’s Itachi Uchiha. He’s real cool and has no sense of humor just like his girlfriend.”
Then Deidara pointed to the girl with very short blond hair. She had the same look of boredom on her face. “Her’s name is Nami Hatawashi. She’s on the swim team and Itachi’s girlfriend. Hmm?” She wore a green, short sleeve shirt and jeans with bright purple nailpolish that matched Itachi’s. I wondered if she was cold. Being a girl myself I could see that she was wearing a bra several sixes too small that was a desperate attempt in vain to cover her massively sized breasts. I could tell by the way she stood so tall and how she sucked in sort breaths.
Then Deidara pointed to a short boy with waist length orange hair. Some of it was combed over his right eye The rest was in a high ponytail. He had red eyes and laughed heartily. “That is Dein Fuuma. He’s always causing trouble and is usually in the In School Suspension (ISS) room. Hmmm?” Deidara explained. “He’s got a twin sister who’s not as popular and on the Tennis team. Her name’s Fein. I’ve seen her around. Hmmm?”
Deidara pointed to a really tall boy with tan skin, black hair and green eyes. He had big muscles and probably lifted weights. “That is Kakuzu Horigumi. He’s the richest kid in school.” He wore a sleeveless blue shirt that showed off his muscles and grey pants. Deidara continued. “He’s pretty smart, like A-‘s and somehow Hidan’s best friend. I don’t know why. They hate each other. Hmmm?” After looking at me he added. “He’s not on the football team or a wrestler, he’s just big.”
Deidara now pointed to a redhead with short hair and brown eyes. He looked bored at everything, but not as bad as Itachi and Nami. He wore a black hoodie with brown cargo pants. “That’s Sasori Akasuna. He’s pretty smart and girls fawn over him, but he doesn’t like any of them and he’s still single as far as I know. Hmm?” Sasori scratched his head and sat down, not laughing at the joke Hidan cracked. He looked bored.
Suddenly a bell rang and I almost jumped.
“That’s the bell. It tells you when to go to your next class. Hmmm?” Deidara explained.
“Oh…What is my next class?” I asked.
“Oh Kenta!” Anko called. I came over and Deidara waited at the door. “Here you go.” She handed me a piece of paper with a schedule on it. “This is your schedule. Your first class is Math with Kurenai-Sensei.”
“Hey I have a friend with that class.” Deidara called to me.
“Well that makes things easier.” Anko put her hands on her hips and grinned.
I came over to Deidara. He rushed into the hall and grabbed onto a tall kid. He dragged him back over to me and presented him like a prize.
“Deidara what are you-” The boy paused and looked at me. He was strange looking like some kind of defect, but I personally thought it looked cool. His skin had a bluish tint to it and his eyes were small and shadowed. He had very sharp white teeth and a nice smile. He was a foot or so taller than me and had huge muscles. He defiantly lifted weights. His hair was dark blue and short and he had gill shaped marks under his eyes. He kind of looked like a shark, but I still thought it was cool. He wore a dark grey hoodless sweatshirt, that didn’t really show off his muscles and long black pants.
“Oh. Hello.” The boy blinked in surprise.
“Kisame this is Kenta Akatsuki.” Deidara introduced me. “Kenta this is Kisame Hoshigaki.”
Kisame bowed like a gentleman. “Pleased to meet you.”
I was surprised by his formality, but nodded in return anyway. “The same.”
“Sorry he’s so old fashioned.” Deidara laughed.
“No I think it’s a nice change from everyone else.” I nodded.
“He’s also captain of the wrestling team.” Deidara added. Well that explained the muscles…
“Kenta was home schooled and she doesn’t know how to find her classes.” Deidara explained. “You have the same class as hers next so can you help her get there and show her around?” Deidara asked. He was really being nice to me. From what I had seen Deidara wasn’t really the nice type. Especially to strangers, but he treated me different.
“I will keep the little lady safe.” Kisame agreed and showed me in the direction to the class.
