Summary : AU, after Twilight (movie) : Victoria, after James’s death, killed Esme . Edward chose to leave Forks because he felt responsible of her death…what will happen for the Cullen’s family and for Bella ?

Main pairing : Bella/Carlisle ( friendship, and then romance ), other pairing : Alice/Jasper, Rosalie/Emmett

You should know I didn’t read Stephenie Meyer’s books, I only saw the film “Twilight” in cinema.

Little Note : No beta-read ( I’m French ), cause I had some problems with beta-readers in my other works. But if you see mistakes you can tell me about them in your reviews !!

After the death of James, Victoria, her mate, only had one idea in her head “ Revenge “, she wanted all the Cullen family paid and set up a plan and some other nomads followed her because of it : they will kill each member of the family, in beginning by the most lowest and then they will taste Bella’s blood before killing her.

So her revenge hit the family and the first victim was the sweet and innocent Esme, Carlisle’s wife; this last one received a letter with some strange instructions which leaded him and his family to a pile of ashes in the ballroom where Bella was attacked, next to that pile the brooch made by the family’s seal, that Esme wore, and a message on a piece of paper “ Who will be the next ?”

Carlisle, crazy by the pain and the sorrow, tracked down Victoria with his ‘children’ and killed her…but nothing will be the same in the Cullen’s family.

After the death of Victoria, Edward couldn’t help to blame himself : If he never met Bella, If he didn’t save her, a lot of suppositions but he was sure of himself; Esme will still be here, with them. He couldn’t live with his guilty, and his family.

“ Nobody shall be guilty by what happened : Victoria was a monster, full of furor”, said wisely Alice.

But he didn’t believe her and left Forks, leaving two letters : one to his family, the second to Bella, letter that would again change her life and her destiny.

Nobody understood Edward’s decision, but all still grieving Esme, couldn’t search him.

“ Edward must need to be lonely, as Carlisle” announced Jasper “ It will take time but they will be better”

“ I pray you are right my love” said Alice.

Not a member of the Cullen’s family thought about Bella, and all the sorrow she felt in discovering Edward’s letter, sorrow so powerful she stayed locked in her room.

“ Bella, what was in that letter?” Was it because of that Edward Cullen?” asked Charlie in front of Bella’s door.

Bella had stifled her crying, curled in her bed.

“ No, it was nothing Charlie, the letter wasn’t important. I am just a little sick, I won’t be in high school today.”

“ Ok. But if you want I can phone a doctor”

“ No, I will be better in a few days”

And days passed, then a whole week, and Charlie became worried : he knew her daughter didn’t eat anymore because she stayed locked in her room, he was so anguish he phoned Carlisle.

“ Doctor Cullen, sorry to disturb you. I’m so worried about Bella”

“ Bella, Bella Swan, a moment, who are you?”, asked Carlisle in a monotone voice

“I’m Charlie, Bella’s father : she stayed locked in her room since a whole week, she refused to open to me and worst than all of that I am pretty sure she didn’t eat anymore”

“But it can have so dramatic consequences”

“Yes, it's because of that I phoned you. It was since she received a mysterious letter a week ago...I first believed it was from your son who wanted to break up with her”

Carlisle taped her head with his right hand, the other one holding his phone.

“ Listen, my wife, Esme, is dead; Edward, without any reasons, felt responsible of her death, and left Forks.”

Charlie began to insult Edward and then thought of his daughter.

“ Please, go see my daughter. You can maybe convince her to open to you”.

“ I'll be there as soon as possible”

“ I won’t be at my house, I should patrol : I let my keys under the doormat”

“I understand”

“I beg you, save her ! I can’t lose her again” said Charlie before hanging up.
