CSI Level 3 and Grave shift Supervisor Gilbert Grissom walked through the hallways of the Las Vegas Crime Lab; he had a meeting with the Sheriff and Lab Director Conrad Ecklie. He walked to a vacant Conference Room of the Crime Lab passing by current Lab rats in their labs running analysis for the current cases going on with each shift. “Good evening Conrad, Sheriff.” Grissom greeted them taking a seat in the Conference Room.

“Welcome Gil.” The Sheriff greeted Grissom, while Ecklie nodded his head and also greeted Grissom. “Alright the reason why I called this meeting is regarding the United States Government has sent an invite to us, CSI Las Vegas, to a special team building activity.” The Sheriff spoke while holding up a classified looking envelope taking out a form with two copies and handing them both to Grissom and Ecklie.

Grissom and Ecklie began to read their copies as the Sheriff continued. “It is a special facility for United States Government and Law Enforcement departments. They have already tested it on the best teams of the Army, Navy, FBI, and other higher branches, but they would still like to see how it would go with Law Enforcements.” The Sheriff spoke as Grissom and Ecklie read on. “The activity itself would last two weeks and it would start the day after you all landed on the Governed Island facility and after you were briefed.”

“Sheriff are you saying you want a team from my lab?” Ecklie asked.

“Not just any team, the Grave Shift.” The sheriff said turning to Grissom.

“Well um… Gil what do you think?” Ecklie turned to him. Grissom looked at Ecklie and the Sheriff and then back to his information.

“The reason why I want Gil’s team is because they are the best team; also they have been through a lot with Sara’s recent kidnapping and Warrick’s assassination attempt and the discovery of McKeen being the mole. Also you just added two new members, I figured it would help the older members become stronger together and let the two new members become a part of that family you have with your teammates.” The Sheriff spoke to Grissom.

“Well Sheriff, Ecklie since Catherine is Assistant Supervisor to me, I’d like to share it with her and get her thoughts and then if she agrees share it with the team and then give you an answer.” Grissom said setting the information down.

Ecklie nodded in agreement as the Sheriff spoke, “That will be find Gil, but please have a decision for me in two days, the Government gave me four days to respond so two should be plenty time to discuss with your team.”

“Thank you, well I got to go and start my shift, Ecklie, Sheriff I’ll give you a call in two days.” Grissom said standing up and shaking both men’s hands and walking towards his office.

Grissom sat down behind his desk and took out the information again. It probably will help our team out. Give Warrick some confidence again. Give Sara strength that she’s not a failure and what she does, does make a difference. Grissom thought.

While deep in his musings he didn’t hear Catherine Willows, CSI Level 3 and Assistant Supervisor, walk in and take a sit in front of him. “Gil?” She said quietly, not getting a response she cleared her throat and tried again, “Gil?” Still no response. “Grissom!”

Grissom’s head shot up, “Oh sorry Catherine didn’t hear you come in, everyone in the Break Room?” He asked her.

She shook her head, “No not yet, some are there though. What’s all the concentration about this early in shift, did you get called in early for a case?” Catherine asked.

“Oh no, actually this is what I was going to discuss with you about, um our team has been invited to attend a special type of team building activity for two weeks, I wanted to show you first due to you having Lindsey you need to care of, but also what you think about it.” Grissom said handing her the information. “I’m not going to discuss it with the team until after we discussed it, so I’m going to send the team out to cases that have been called in and then we can discuss ok?” Catherine nodded as she was already reading the information.
